Every corner had something charming from old books to delicate dishes that reminded me of my grandmother's table, and treasures with a kind of character you can't find in new things. But there is literally no rhyme or reason to what they will take from a consigner. Their racks are filled with old dingy clothing and yet you take something that's nicer than just about anything on the shelves and they tell you it's outdated/not current. They tell you they don't take certain brands, yet you see those brands hanging on the racks. Literally. It's been happening for years, but then there'll be a spell where it won't...so I kept going back periodically. Pretty done. Zero consistency. Unfriendly employees. Shop elsewhere.

Today I was excited to see a Ballard store while visiting Greenville. My daughter and I browsed for a while, pointing out several things I had recently bought online.. Two employees walked past us a few times and never acknowledged us. I would have loved to interact with the "face" of the company and bought a few more items. But we felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Disappointed in this experience.

There are placards on the clothing racks that include a price and the words "unless marked individually." When I brought the items to the cashier, she stated that neither had prices on them (so shouldn't they have been the posted price??). She then turned and conferred with another employee about what the prices should be. These items were nothing special. I was expecting the usual rate (around $4-$5), but she turned back to me and said $12 each! I was dumbfounded. I could buy similar items brand new for the same or lower prices. I said no thanks and left with nothing. I will not be returning to this store.
