Hamptons Mobile Detailing detailed my car yesterday -- a 2008 red BMW convertible that was filthy because of two kids and many trips to the beach. They did an outstanding job; the car literally looks better than the day I drove it off the dealer's lot. I would not hesitate to recommend HMD's services. read more

I contacted the company by phone on 9/3/17. Bob called back and arranged an appointment for 12:30 pm on 9/4/17. He was pleasant on the phone and seemed sincere. He was a no-show, did not answer his phone, return texts or messages. I waited for 5 hours. He made a point of saying he was never late for his first appointment. I guess I should have asked if he actually shows up for the second. If his plans had changed it would have been polite and/or respectful of my time to be in communication. read more

But my Hamptons itinerary included spots that have valet and I wanted to feel a little less embarrassed, so I headed to Strebel's based on their good reviews. I opted for the full service interior and exterior wash but skipped the tire shine (it was only a few bucks extra but ehh). As they vacuumed out the interior, I watched the attendant take out everything from my trunk which I totally didn't expect him to do, bang off each beach chair and vacuum all the sand out of my car, every last grain. I ran over and gave this guy a nice tip because to me that was above and beyond - no one looks in my trunk except me, this was totally unnecessary but very nice. My car came out looking spotless, and I felt so much less embarrassed than I had when I drove into Strebel's (though still a little embarrassed to have my non-fancy car from the 90's washed alongside Teslas and Jaguars).
