I considered the tenure of the audiologist too! The owner Bill has been in the business over 30 years. Scheduling was easy as front desk staff Shirley took care of getting me in within a week. She also took my insurance to check for benefits. Once benefits confirmed she called me back to report. I knew with dealing with Shirley the overall customer experience would likely be strong. On my first appointment with Bill I had an audiogram performed. Once completed he went through where my deficiencies were and recommended I be fitted for hearing aids. Bill took things very slowly doing a trial pair of Oticon's best Intent 1 to wear for a few weeks. I never realized hearing aids were so expensive. However Oticon is a leader of quality hearing instruments. Then come back after seeing how they worked move down to Oticon Intent 2 which is a $1000 less at around $5,900. After another visit I was fitted in a new pair for a few weeks to see the difference. Both hearing instruments were very good and of course a learning curve. But end of the day the Intent 2 was all I needed. Bill recommended a custom ear mold for my right ear based on capturing a better fit with a higher power. I am very satisfied with my purchase and service from Advanced Hearing. They offer free service on cleanings and the hearing aids themselves have a fantastic warranty. Even if loosing them only a small deductible. If you're in denial too check them out for a no obligation hearing test.

Obviously I've been in health distress for months at this point, but Kelly started yelling at me, saying that was in response to my aggressiveness. I think she mistook that for my assertiveness as I was trying to get this appointment scheduled so that we can diagnose the problem that I've been having for months. She then canceled my referral and told me that I was no longer welcome in their practice. I have never been treated so horribly by a doctor's office in my life! The building is located along Virginia Beach Blvd. The most recent visit here was on July 8, 2025. The building isn't hard to see from the street, but the building is a bit discreet. Parking can be hit or miss sometimes as there are lots of practices in this building and parking was limited a few times coming here. Although I was not the one needing to be seen, I was bringing my mom here as they are included on her medical plan for hearing. The audiologist we worked with was Dr. Stephanie Collins. The initial visit began with getting a background and then having her take a hearing test. Once that was completed, we went into the office to talk about the results and what the next steps would be. Based on the results of the exam, my mom is eligible for hearing aids and was covered fully by the medical plan. It was on that July 8th visit where my mom got to test out the hearing aids. They did make a difference in her ability to hear. The one thing to be careful of is letting the body acclimate to the new hearing aids. Overall, the experiences here went well. There weren't any major issues and such. I'm just glad my mom can hear better now. If you are looking to get your hearing checked and your medical plan covers it, check and see if they are in network.

When I wanted another test Summer '23, I made it clear I could not afford to pay anything. I checked with my insurance and they told me there should be no cost. I was sick all summer and not working. I received a bill for $35. I am refusing to pay it. Both my insurance and the audiologist had told me it should not be any more than my Dec'22 ($()). Also, when I bought them she told me I would receive calls in regard to how I was doing. She never contacted me after I paid for them. (My phone number never changed). I bought an expensive pair of hearing aides (over $3000). Shortly after I moved to TN. I started having problems with them and my hearing with them decreased. I contacted her and she never responded. I would think there would be an audiologist in TN that would honor the guarantee I received with the hearing aides. Regret buying them.

I purchased a pair of hearing aids here in 2010, made a couple of payments, got behind and then…read morefinished making all the payments to a collection agency. By mid 2012 I finished all the required payments and my hearing aids were free and clear. Or so I thought. When I brought them in for a cleaning around 2016 I was told that since I had only made 2 payments they were confiscating my hearing aids. Since I didn't have a record of my payments I didn't have a choice but to let them go. Upon digging through my files and bank statements I ascertained that I have made EVERY payment. When I confronted Advanced Hearing they told me every time that they'd get back to me...they have NEVER called, NEVER sent me an email, they have done NOTHING to rectify this issue. NOTHING. ZERO. Advanced Hearing HAS MY HEARING AIDS NOW. THEY TOOK THEM. I PAID $3690.00 for the pair. IF YOU TAKE SOMETHING IN ERROR YOU RETURN IT. THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING. ZERO. THEY DIDN'T EVEN SAY SORRY FOR THE MIXUP. I have called their national office and have been reassured that the President was diligently reviewing my case, that the Virginia Beach office was going over my payments. But, every time I call, they tell me that they'll have an answer tomorrow or next week. My life has been hell in my job, relationships, and my own ego because I miss most of what is going on around me. Hearing Aids aren't an option hearing aids are a critical part of my life and Advanced Hearing has been the holdup. I would never do business again with Advanced Hearing and neither should you.
