The only knock is it was a bit of a walk from the lobby to the elevator and to the room. Otherwise, it was a comfortable stay with friendly staff/service. I booked the Hilton Hampton Inn Woodbridge hotel using my Hilton hotel L-SRR points in mid January for one night. We parked our car in their parking lot. Our check in and check out went smoothly with my Hilton app. I reserved two queen beds, which were confirmed. The hotel and hotel room were nice. A restaurant was adjacent to the hotel, which was very convenient for us to visit during our stay for dinner. We also enjoyed their standard complimentary breakfast. If required we will stay here again. read more

Not bad. Rooms are clean, generally quiet. Walmart and long horn steak house in walking distance. Staff is generally pleasant but had one negative experience. Waited all morning for housekeeping. Housekeeping finally came to my room. I told them I will leave and they vanished. Complained to front desk person who curtly said "what is your room number" with no apology offered. Otherwise staff has been fine. Hot breakfast is good enough. Floor in the lobby and eating area hasn't been cleaned all day. No towels in pool area but pool is pretty nice. Both treadmills and peloton in fitness center are broken but one stationary cycle works. Not a good situation if there's more than one person in there. They do have a dumbbell rack and all in one puppy system. read more

Seedy. I've heard that word used before when referencing a motel, but this is my first experience with one. Upon walking down the first floor hall to get to the elevators half way down that hall, there was the strong, pungent odor of marijuana smoke wafting throughout the air. Got to the room where I found a desk, but no chairs. So I pulled the couch/sofa from the other wall across the room and used it in the place of a desk chair to do some paperwork and work on my computers (see attached photos). Needless to say, my back was hurting after a couple of hours of sitting like this (again, see the photos). The third floor was filled with local firemen decked out in their helmets, boots, gloves, oxygen tanks, and fire resistant gear. One of them nodded his head at me, but did not say anything as I walked by them. The firemen seemed preoccupied with getting to where they were going. The fitness center was full (it is a very small room) of 9-10 year old male gang members. There were a total of three (3) with no adults present. They did not physically accost me, just spoke the way . . . you know . . . they speak. With no credit cards, debit cards, money or food on me in the workout shorts and t-shirt I was wearing they just moved around me for about 20 minutes of my 45 minute walk on a treadmill finally with one saying he had not eaten yet and they all left. There were two (2) televisions in the fitness center mounted on the wall with only one (1) broken remote control. The front plastic part was cracked off and I could not find the broken off pieces anywhere in the fitness center; on the floor, under the equipment, on a shelf or anywhere. So don't count on either of the televisions functioning to make your fitness workout any better. The motif of the rooms are of the late 90s, early 2000s. The toilet will not flush when you press the handle. It is one of those malfunctioning toilet handles where you must stand and hold the handle down for 5-10 seconds. Otherwise, you will be left with quite a site to see when you come back to use it a second time. Believe me, I know! Pressing the handle makes you think the toilet flushed, but not standing there holding the handle down until you see all your business completely flush down will leave you with a 'surprise' to look down at when you come back the next time. I plugged my electric razor and electric toothbrush in the plug in the bathroom to charge overnight because they were both dead. I woke up to both still being dead because the dual electrical outlet is broken. I reset the button, but it still did not work. You will need to use your mobile phone for an alarm because not only is there no chair, there is no alarm clock in the rooms. You'll need your phone to know what time it is and to wake up in the morning. Speaking to the front desk agent about any of the above meets with, "The technician has already left for the day". read more

I arrived early,... no big deal. My room wasn't ready yet, as I had expected. However, Matt at the front desk, took my number and offered me a 10% discount to the longhorn restaurant next door while I waited. I wasn't even 1/2 done with my beer when Matt called to tell me that my room was ready. I write this as I finish my adult beverage. I haven't even checked in yet and I have no problem reviewing the hotel! The attentiveness and follow up by Matt already has earned the hotel 5 stars! I'll give Hampton Inn at Woodbridge 4 stars. There were some small things I didn't like. I heard someone in the next room snoring. I had a crazy shift l worked 2200-0300 then in again at 0800-1600. I was exhausted. The snoring didn't keep me awake, but I know I heard it because I was coming in at 0300 nightly. Many things you can hear in the hall and next door rooms. Smoking allowed at the front door so there's people there blowing smoke I have to smell. I used to smoke. I understand..now that I don't, it's horrid to smell. Just move it further down from the main entrance. They had a decent breakfast I grabbed on my way out each morning. I liked the cold drink machine in the lobby. I liked the ice machines next to the elevators on every floor. Push a button and ice falls into your cup. I clinked a couple into my yeti and poured two gatorades in there from the cold drink machine each day to go to work.. (Ice cold all day, baby!! Woo!) And charged the Gatorade to my room. Im out the door. They had a nice pool I didn't get to use and a nice workout room I didn't get to use. Huge TV in the room I had no time to turn on. The people at check-in where really nice. I appreciated that. Large parking area and a couple restaurants next door along with a Dunkin. It was overall a good place to stay. read more

Just ok. The lobby was clean and staff was welcoming. The price was decent and check in and out process was easy. Parking lot is ample. Plenty of food options close by within walking distance. However, the shampoo bottle in the bathroom was empty, we were only given two towels instead of the usual four, the water in the shower is far too soft and the shower head, while adjustable, was stuck in one position. All that aside, my biggest issue was housekeeping woke us up loudly knocking on doors at 9:30 am on a Sunday. Check out isn't until noon. Hampton Inn at Woodbridge is alright. It's clean with relatively new furniture anna carpet. They still have tubs and not showers, so it's not incredibly updated, but livable. They struggled, Ib think, like all hotels this year in providing good service when the pandemic rules made that difficult. First floor restrooms are closed. Entry to the restaurant is closed. They'll clean if you specifically ask them to. You have to ask for a coffee maker at the front desk. But the hotel staff tries to be accommodating. read more

Service was exceptional. Front desk people were top notch, which is hard to find. We wanted to know how to get to Manhattan and front desk directed very well to the train station in Woodbridge. Hotel was immaculately clean, and breakfast was good. Very convenient adjacent restaurant/bar choices, and front desk informed us of discounts. Wal-Mart shopping area are around the corner. We got to the hotel, very nice staff at the desk. Went to our room, TV not working right. Went to front desk, an hour and a 1/2 later, not resolved, went to eat, problem still not resolved. Went to desk, finally the maintenance guy changed the cable from another room. The chair by the desk was broken, multiple trips to front desk to get it replaced. My husband took a shower in the evening, the water was barely warm, I took a shower in the morning, water was barely warm. Breakfast was ok, had a strawberry-kiwi (infusion?) was delicious. This is not a budget hotel, I did not expect budget hotel problems. Wait a minute, have stayed at several budget hotels with no problems! The housekeeping in this hotel leaves very little to be desired!! HORRIBLE is the first word that comes to mind!!! First of all the maid used her key and walked into our room every morning WITHOUT EVER KNOCKING! Who does that??? In my lifetime of traveling I've NEVER experienced this!! Extremely hard to communicate with her because she didn't speak English nor does she understand English!! When she made up our room which consisted of 2 people she never left enough shower towels. She would leave one shower towel. This went on for 5 days! The shower curtain in the bathroom smelled awful and had probably never been changed or washed! The room looks as if it was given a face lift but the lighting is horrible! They painted the walls dark and with the little bit of lightning they offer it's dark & dingy. I like a nice bright, clean room. The Direct TV was awful and was out several times during our stay. On one of those outages the engineer had to come and fix it. The rest of the hotel is dingy and dirty and in desperate need of a makeover!! The nicest part of the hotel is the lobby!! We are Hilton Honors Members and are totally disappointed with this stay. This is one of the shabbiest Hamptons I've seen in a long time. I agree with other reviewers that this hotel is not up to the standard for this chain. Stained walls, dirty carpet, sloppy linens, thin towels. The air-conditioner is fragranced, which is a huge pet peeve. Windows do not open.The bathroom is clean but the whole faucet is jiggly. Not a very good place. Don't expect to get any rest as it is very loud, all night long. They start vacuuming early in the morning and the walls and doors do not block it as as I have experienced in other hotels. I stayed recently and the person on duty during the day, Matt was great! He was polite and helpful. The woman who worked at night seemed to be bothered to have to assist anyone, I don't remember her name because she mumbled when she spoke. Nothing like spending 3 nights in the middle of nowhere New Jersey! I kid, I kid....but not really. The Hampton Inn is about 5 miles away from the NJ Conventional Center in Edison (the reason I was there). It's pretty standard as far as hotels go, nothing fancy at all. There's are a few restaurants that share the same parking lot, as well as a Dunkin Donuts, McDonalds and Walmart around the corner. The real kicker is, outside of those places, you can't really walk anywhere because the hotel is located on a highway. I learned the hard way when I went to Walmart looking for wine and was laughed at and told I needed to go to a liquor store. Well, there was a liquor store conveniently located across the HIGHWAY that I couldn't cross. I was so desperate, I almost froggered myself on over there, but came to my senses. I also asked the gal at the front desk about if it was safe to run in the area and she said "well, no not really because we're located on a highway" and suggested I run around the parking lot. LOL! It actually wasn't true though because I found some nice-ish residential streets behind the hotel. Oh yeah, back to the actual hotel. It was fine and there was free breakfast. That's about all I can think of. Just try to avoid NJ in general and you'll be fine! read more

Great stay here if you need an affordable spot in the central Jersey area. Front desk ladies were EXCELLENT sweet hosts!!!!!! They really were so nice and pleasant. I was reading a lot of reviews online at other locations too and many people complained of rooms being dirty, ants, smoke smells, stains etc i did a ton of comparisons and felt the reviews here really helped my decision to book here. I'm super sensitive to scents and smoke and have no complaints about any sort of smells, everything was good here on that front and no ants either. If you are not used to the CRAZY NJ driving and highways, just a heads up that even though you'll have access to major highways and close to NYC, Beach, central and north Jersey, etc it's a little crazy over here! Might be a shock for any out of staters lol. Good for a business stay or to be an hour from beach - I wouldn't expect any sort of tourism to walk around the area since it's on a major highway. I had 2 complaints though about the room: 1) the bed - was rock hard and felt like STONE like what you'd imagine the Flintstones slept on - unsure how the other rooms are if those are newer mattresses or not? I wish the comforter as well was comfier it was very thin with itchy texture. Thankfully brought my own comforter and used the second night cus the first night was kinda rough to adjust to. 2) I did my own cleaning with Lysol when I got there and the vent for AC was dirty and filter needs to be replaced and had black spots- unsure if mold but I cleaned it off and I would think during covid down time that the rooms got a super sweep of being really throughly cleaned but seemed like it needed a deep clean even though everything seemed clean at first. Other than that... I'm glad the AC was on point and kept the room cool, loved the mini fridge, and everything else was great. Did not try breakfast so have no comments for that. read more

Stayed here for one night with our family. Check in was smooth! Our room was on the 2nd floor, clean and modern, comfy bed and the storage areas definitely came in handy. Our kids spent most of the time in the pool, which was nice. Breakfast was great, so much to choose from with friendly staff willing to assist you with any questions or concerns. The location can be good or bad, I guess depending on each individual's preference. For us, it was good! There is a plaza literally right behind the hotel (definitely walking distance) with a Walmart, Dollar Tree (and not sure what else) and also restaurants right next to the hotel. I stay at this Hampton frequently for work. I'm so so sooo glad they have finally started renovations- the rooms really needed it. I feel like the older facilities was the only thing holding this location back. Renovations are going from the top floors down, but should be done soon from what I gather. To use the shuttle, you need to reserve with the front desk 1 day in advance, and they will pick up/ drop off anywhere within a certain distance. They also do airport pickup/ drop off too. Breakfast is the Hampton Inn standard; the bananas are never great but I like the diy parfait station. The staff here are super friendly and really go the extra mile to give you 110%. read more

This hotel is just not up to par. While the lobby is nice and looks fairly new, the rooms are old, dusty and dirty with very old and dilapidated air conditioners that make so much noise. I was very disappointed with the management. I requested a blanket because there wasn't one in the closet and after more than 45 minutes and a phone call - they brought me a fitted bed sheet. Pros: The breakfast staff was super sweet and the breakfast was well presented and served with care. They even had turkey sausage which was a plus. There's a restaurant about ten feet away from the building which is convenient. More cons: The hotel itself is right off of a busy highway. If you get lost- good luck because it's one big confusing circle and at night it can be a total nightmare. The whole night I kept hearing a thumping sound coming from the adjoining room on the other side of our room. I called the front desk to see if someone was over there or if something was just knocking against our door. She said she would check. I called back after an hour and they didn't answer the phone. Needless to say, I didn't sleep very well. Final analysis: This hotel isn't up to normal Hampton Inn standards and customers deserve better than that. read more

I love the Hampton brand - the price, free breakfast, wifi, etc. Had the need to stay in the Woodbridge area for a night so I booked this hotel. The room and staff were actually ok, no complaints there. The issue is parking. If you go to their web site there is a small disclaimer saying they share their parking lot with retail and restaurants but there is plenty of parking around the sides and in the back that is well lit. Wrong. I arrived at the hotel around 9pm on a Saturday and the lot was an absolute zoo. There were way too many cars for the lot - front, sides, back, wherever. To make matters worse there is an Enterprise on site so some of the needed spots are taken up by unrented cars. The lot was a complete, fear for your life, free for all. Find another place to stay unless you plan on checking in before the dinner crowd and not leaving the premises. read more

BAD: Pool - The reason we stayed at this hotel was for the pool. We wanted to use the pool twice. It's open from 6am to 10pm. That leaves a nice 8 hour period for maintenance and cleaning to be done outside of pool hours, yet both times we tried to use the pool it was being cleaned or worked on. The first time it was open a mere 30 minutes later, so that wasn't too big of a deal. The second time was the morning of checkout and we were told the pool wouldn't be open for "a while." We changed back out of swimwear and left, disappointed. I don't understand why the pool can't be taken care of outside of pool hours. My family lives 10 minutes from the hotel; we could have stayed with them but chose to stay at a hotel so we could use the pool, which we were only able to do once. Pillows - Beware of the pillows, they get very flat and hard as a rock. All 4 of us were uncomfortable using the pillows. We requested more pillows from the front desk and were brought 3 pillows. They were the same crappy pillows so we went to Wal-Mart right next door and bought some that were more comfortable. Cleanliness - The room wasn't filthy, but it wasn't very clean either. GOOD: Breakfast - The complimentary breakfast was pretty good (although the "maple syrup" was gross). Staff - The staff were all very friendly. Room - The room we stayed in (529) was recently renovated. The decor was nice. read more

I have to say I love the hilton brand and frequently choose the hampton inns. The one bedroom king suites are generally awesome for parents traveling with small kids. This was the worst hotel stay we have ever experienced. When I called to reserve a room by phone, the girl who answered the phone asked me to do it online, I said I needed to reserve infant beds and preferred to reserve by phone and she still asked me to go online then call her back to add that request. She also said they didn't have infant beds (which they do). We checked in and the room was not very clean--I had to ask twice for the infant beds to be brought by and they arrived in assembled, with no sheets and stained with urine/baby vomit. My husband went to walmart and bought pack and play sheets since the hotel had none. Our thermostat in the bedroom didn't work so that room was like a furnace, but the AC wouldn't shut off in the main area so it was 60 degrees. All night there were drunken noisy bar patrons from the neighboring bar outside our room, so out two babies were up screaming all night. When our kids finally fell asleep at 7am, I decided to shower--BIG MISTAKE! The tub wouldn't drain and the paint was peeling and when I shut the shower off, the smoke alarm went off!!! I called the front desk and let them know, but the fire department had to come and investigate anyway while I was dripping wet with two screaming kids and a grumpy husband. We went to breakfast while the front desk offered to fix the issues with our room, only to be locked out upon our return. The front desk offered no compensation, but thankfully Hilton's corporate customer service line is refunding us for our stay. Worst night's sleep ever! read more

If you generally stay at Hampton Inns and expect a certainly level of excellence from the Hilton brand I wouldn't stay here until the property is renovated. My family of 4 stayed for 2 nights on a weekend in early December 2016. Restrooms in the lobby and the pool area were dirty. The hallways were not clean. (For instance, there was a large bag of garbage outside the elevator when we arrived late Friday night, and it was still there the next morning at 9 am; there was often dirt trailed down hallways to the elevators on the main floor.) Ice machines were broken on multiple floors. The elevators were covered in dirty streaks. Bath towels were in short supply. Breakfast was OK, and the pool was fine. The rooms were very bare and dated. The staff was generally friendly and helpful (late night check in at front desk, getting ice from the back after hours, welcoming us when we crossed paths in the halls or during breakfast), but didn't seem to be empowered to keep the hotel up to par. Housekeeping seemed understaffed - they were very late in servicing our room (after 5 pm). I completed the survey sent to me by Hilton expressing these shortfallings and received no response. (I would have held out on posting a poor review if they made an effort to address or resolve my concerns.) My family frequently stays in Hampton Inns, and this was the least nice one we have stayed at. I would have expected a cleaner, more modern hotel, particularly for the price (about $120 per night). I was embarrassed that I recommended the hotel to multiple friends who were coming to the area for the same event. read more

Staying here a couple of times for a new job. The room I was in seemed like it was a bit dingy, could have been in better condition. Bed was a bit stiff. Staff was friendly, complimentary breakfast was nice. They have a pool (I didn't use) and a work out room which is quaint but gets the job done. I wouldn't recommend this hotel as a first choice, but I don't mind staying here. Which is good, as I'll be staying here many times in the coming months. They have a Longhorn Steakhouse attached, but you can't bill to your room (yet you can get room service). read more

After I said Good Morning to him first I have never been treated that way ever especially in a establishment that should put customer service first, After he said that I replied to me he was only saying that due to the time close to closing the breakfast at 10 am no matter what time it is no one should great customer service that way , I tried to reach the manager to speak on this matter no call back and left on hold for long periods of time.The only reason I haven't left a one star was for the pleasent front desk and the gentleman who came to fix our tv controller due to vol not working. I am a Hilton Diamond member, so stay at a LOT of Hampton Inns throughout the country. This is my first time leaving a review, so that might say something. The sleeping room: The room was spacious and the bed was fine. The security lock on my room was broken which wasn't comforting. The hallways were falling apart (baseboards torn off, my co-workers room number was duct taped to the door....) and I was shocked to see that there is an entry from the courtyard that does NOT lock or require a key-card to enter the hotel. This made me feel VERY unsafe (especially with the door lock being broken and my room being on the first floor.) The complimentary breakfast is the standard Hampton Inn food - it was well stocked and seemed to be managed well by the breakfast staff. I had also booked meeting space with the hotel for a business meeting. The wireless internet was free, but did not work for any of our staff. (I had been able to log in the night prior so knew it wasn't our firewalls or anything.) Rather than the hotel asking to see the problem, the sales manager practically yelled that it wasn't their fault - it must be my computer. (I work for a technology company - I'm pretty confident in my able-to-connect-to-wifi ability ) ;) They eventually gave me the number to call Stay Connected (the service provider that you log into to access their wifi) and they were able to tell me that it was, in fact, the hotel's network being down. We got online (finally) but just the way the sales manager spoke to me (and the fact that they didn't even attempt to fix the problem - they just assumed it was us) was baffling. I asked to speak to the Assistant General Manager and he mentioned he would try to figure out what happened, but really didn't help the terrible customer service at all. I ended up calling to talk to the corporate office and they were incredibly helpful and informative. Due to the safety issues (especially in a not-so-nice area) and the horrific customer service by the leadership of this hotel, my company will take our business elsewhere. read more

Came to nj for a meeting and needed a nice and comfortable place to spend one night. I needed a place with free parking, breakfast, wi fi, gym, shuttle and spacious rooms. It was my day off of working out but I checked out the gym. It had everything I would've needed including adjustable bench, heavy dumbbells and a cable machine with pull up bar. The breakfast exceeded my expectations by having healthy and comfort options. Three hardboiled eggs, fruit, and a big bowl of natural oatmeal is most of the time my healthy breakfast back home and they had it. I was feeling like trying something different and I went with scrambled eggs, ham, roasted potatoes, and a waffle. It was not bad. You can find 24 hour Starbucks brew in the lobby and a nice business center. I'll definitely try to stay at more Hampton inns on my future travels. read more

I stay over 100 nights a year in hotels for work. This was BY FAR the worst stay I have ever had. My friend and I both booked NON-SMOKING rooms. When they checked her in, they put her on a smoking floor (which we didn't know). I asked to be adjoining (which they don't have) so the put me across the hall. I did a mobile check into my room in advance and was called about 2 hours later to be told that room was "being renovated" they would have to move me to another room. I asked if we could be on the same floor and they put me in a SMOKING ROOM....which I could tell by the smell. Not only did it smell, it was FILTHY and run down. When I told the front desk, the first girl (who was new) said...well your reservation was for a non-smoking and they put you in a smoking room...since she was new she went to get the woman a had spoken to the day before who flat out lied to me saying it wasn't a smoking room....it was on a smoking floor....and her excuse for the filthy furniture, well they are under renovation...UM lies, filth, and zero compassion...so much for 100% satisfaction guarantee read more

Pros: Hotel renovated great staff and breakfast in the morning. Great location near all your shopping needs. Cons: satellite tv issues all night could not watch tv without satellite interruptions Please fix issue. This has ruined my hotel experience somewhat. All in all it's a great hotel with great amenities and I will be returning. I've been here many times before and many improvements have been made. read more

Today I am very sick and ordered a delivery specifically to my room at this hotel. The courier said that they had no problem bringing it to my room, but they notified me that the front desk stopped them and wouldn't let them bring it up. I spoke with the front desk and asked them that if they wouldn't allow the courier to bring the delivery up, if someone from the hotel staff could bring it up to me? They said no, and that I needed to come and get it. I said are you sure? I am very contagious right now and walking is hard, and they said yeah they were sure that I needed to go down and get it. My lungs burn when I walk right now, but I had to go downstairs and get it anyway and it was miserable for me. I explained how sick I was and they did not care or even pretend to. Even cried when I got back to my room and was able to lay down because I am just that sick.... shame on this hotel.
