Was looking into a reasonably priced hotel within 30 mins drive from Hershey Park with an indoor pool. Though there were a few in the Harrisburg area, we were coming from NYC so choosing a hotel to the east of Hershey would actually cut off some travel time heading back home on the day of checkout. I have heard great things about Hampton Inns being a sub division of the Hilton chain. I have stayed at many Hilton Garden Inns and a few Hiltons all with great experiences. The outstanding reviews of this hotel reassured my decision. The hotel is in Pine Grove, which is about 35 mins away from the park and Downtown Hershey. Plugging the directions in your navigation will take you through some rural farm-like area with winding single lane roads. Keep that in mind as you may want to take a quick look at your map before venturing out if you want to stick to the main roads. Closeby the hotel is a McDonalds, Dairy Queen, Arby's, Subway and Dollar General, all of which come in handy when you get back to the hotel in the later hours and want a quick and cheap bite. Most of the places close between 10-11pm. Parking lot accommodates a lot of cars and even has separate entrances that you can enter using your room key card, depending on where you park and where your room is. The hotel itself is great. Become a HIlton Honors Member (I suggest you sign up, its free) and we got to "check-in" and choose out room in advance, the day before actual arrival. Front desk was very friendly and helpful with all of our questions. Lobby was large and clean. Room was great. Large and comfortable king bed, one seat chair, desk, desk chair, flat panel TV, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, large floor to ceiling mirror, iron, ironing board, and hair dryer. Bathroom was clean with adequate towels and complimentary Neutrogena products. We got to experience the complimentary continental breakfast which was great. They had a good variety of breakfast items to choose from. The staff kept the food items stocked and clean, which is a near miracle with so many people making their own breakfast. We also checked out the pool area which was clean and organized. The fitness room also seemed great but I did not have a chance to utilize it. Check in is at 3, and check out is at 11. An overall great experience. I would recommend to anyone. Hats off to the staff there as they really did a great job throughout the stay.

Very clean and the staff was incredibly nice and helpful while we were searching for our lost dog in the area. (Yes, she was found)

The hotel is right off of Interstate 81 making it easy to excess if you are traveling. The hotel in my opinion was affordable; my family and I enjoyed our night stay. Once, entering the hotel we were greeted by the friendly staff who checked my family into the hotel. We paid $80 and the hotel room we stayed in had two beds, a table with two chairs (with a mini coffee machine), a reclining chair, microwave, mini fridge, television, and the bathroom was fully stocked with towels and soap. Everything in the room was spotless with no dust or wear and tear on any of the furniture. My family and I had a wonderful sleep and we felt safe sleeping in the hotel room. We slept straight through the night without any disturbances. In addition, the hotel offers free wifi, pool, ice machine, gym, laundry room, pet rooms, and smokers and non- smokers rooms. Furthermore the continental breakfast was decent and the area was clean. The breakfast included oatmeal, coffee (regular and decaf), cereal (Fruit Loops, Raisin Bran, and Corn Flakes), mini serving of orange juice(like what you get in a school cafeteria for breakfast), whole milk, scrambled eggs, sausage links, bagels (english muffin, cinamon, and everything bagel, and waffles. In my opinion the breakfast was average, but I enjoyed the waffles the most. The only downfall during breakfast was the waffles batter machine was not filled up and we had to ask the front desk if they could fill it up, which took some time, but other than that my family enjoyed breakfast. Also there were plenty of seats to sit at for breakfast. However if you decide to skip breakfast at the hotel there is a Mcdoanlds and Arby's right down the street. In addition, if you are worried about parking spots do not worry because the Comfort Inn has a large parking lot that is not far from the hotel, making it easy to carry your luggage. The next time my family is in the area and if the price stays the same we will be booking our rooms for The Comfort Inn in Pine Grove Pennsylvania.

Every summer, my family travels to Columbia County to enjoy everything Knoebels has to offer. And…read moreevery summer for over fifteen years, we either prepare or recover at the Holiday Inn Express off the Buckhorn exit on Route 80, frequently both. Since our visit last summer, the property has undergone another evolution. They have refreshed the public areas and replaced the HVAC systems. In a universe governed mostly by entropy and bad air circulation, a crisp, quiet hotel room is a minor miracle. The renovated common spaces are bright, modern, and inviting, standing in sharp contrast to the fading ghost of the mall across the road. Yet while the ductwork and lobby have been modernized, the soul of the place remains untouched. The staff here continues to be absurdly, wonderfully kind. They do not treat you like a credit card with legs; they greet you like long-lost cousins returning home for a family reunion. Every interaction is pleasant, genuine, and unrushed. The staples that make this place a haven are all still here. The Costa coffee machine that literally showed up while we were visiting last year grinds whole beans on demand, dispensing hot sanity to accompany cinnamon rolls designed to obliterate any lingering notions of human self-restraint. The rooms are spotless, the beds are exceptionally comfortable, and the blackout shades permit a sleep so deep it feels subterranean. Everything works. Everyone is nice. In a chaotic world, that is about as close to perfection as a roadside hotel can get. So it goes. Five stars, hands down. We will be back next summer.

You had to either stay in the pool which was on the cold side or leave. It would have been useful when we checked in to be told this as my 5 yr old grandson wanted to use the pool as soon as we checked in and the staff heard him asking about the pool. Please notify the guests that there is an issue. I took one star off for this reason.

They called me later in the middle of my dinner to see if I knew better because it was an obvious inconvenience to them not to know, but they didn't see that it was an inconvenience to me to have my dinner interrupted to tell them what I already told them. Then I called in advance at 11:45 when I was about to drive 30mins to get there, only to have them say they didn't need to know that and just to call from parking. I called from parking, but it only went to their answering machine. I waited a bit, same thing: answering machine. I went inside and waited at the desk (which had a sign saying to call the number I'd been calling). A guy eventually came out of the office and pointed to the sign saying where to call. I asked if he was a manager, and he said yes, but that he was off duty since 11p so was not going to check me in. But when I went to search for a plug to plug in my laptop to find another hotel, since I was tired of this, he asked if I was going to write a bad review. Of course I was, I explained, but not right then. I needed to find another place to stay. He said if I was going to write a bad review, he wasn't going to let me plug in my laptop and to get off his property. So apparently not enough of a manager-on-duty to check me in, but still enough of a manger-on-duty to pretend that not letting me plug in my laptop would protect his reputation. This was petty, and it left me driving around for hours trying to find a workable solution since my laptop was out of power and I had no net and most hotels in the area were way more expensive and Wyndham hotels (which foolishly has its name on this property) has no customer help line at that hour even for Platinum members. The daytime Wyndham help line had a recording while I was on hold about how they had curated each of their locations for my enjoyment. I doubt that. But either way, they should reconsider having their name on this hotel. If this is the kind of junk they put their name on, I need to reconsider who I associate with because I have been traveling a lot lately (just achieved Wyndham Diamond status), and I could just as well take my business elsewhere if this is their concept of quality. I did not find a place to stay until about 3am. And I have still not fully sorted out the billing. It was a VERY, VERY bad experience. If I could give it zero stars, I would. The silver lining is that I see others have written some pretty bad reviews about this place, so maybe by this preposterous action by the manager-not-manager, I was spared worse if I had stayed.
