Mold in the bathroom
Alisha C.

The only good thing about this place was the location and staff was nice, the room was so small, there was mold, things were broken and while we stayed there, there was several car break ins because of no cameras. Breakfast is okay unless they are serving bacon then it's not edible! Like beef jerky it's pretty bad! My husband was in a hurry to book something since this was an emergency but never again will we stay here! Oh the sharp metal hanging off the side of the AC unit was great also since I have children and my son cut his leg on this!

Black mold

Black mold all over our room, musty smelling. Random bugs, red makeup on our duvet. I informed the front desk and was supposed to get a call back from the GM, never heard from them. Don't waste your money!

Pros We set up a room block for a group event and the Sales Manager Stu Shader was great. He was a real pleasure to deal with, always returned phone calls, answered e-mails promptly, fixed us up with a stellar $89 (plus $13.35 tax) rate which was made even better by the free conference room he threw in and the usual complimentary Hampton Inn breakfast buffet. The front desk staff (especially Jaime) was very friendly and pleasant. The hotel has a great location, literally at an I-95 off-ramp, with easy access to dozens of restaurants. The room size was fine, as were the mechanicals- heat, shower, flat-screen TVs, water pressure, free wifi -everything was fine. There are plenty of outlets to power up your phones, laptops, iPads, whatever. The breakfast buffet was fine and met the standards of what we expect at a Hampton Inn. Cons Our proximity to the highway did yield some traffic noise at night. There was a pretty large group of people that took over the lounge area (treating it as their private living room), as well as congregating outside to smoke. They didn't exactly make us feel welcome as we walked back and forth from the main door to our meeting rooms. Uncomfortable is the best word I can find. We did have ants in two locations- on the vanity to the right of the suite room sink and on our guest room floor between the vanity and the toilet. There were some people in my group that complained about the smell of guests smoking a variety of substances that affected the air quality in the hallways and their rooms. I'm really torn between 2 and 3 stars- but this is how I judge ratings. I consider 3 stars average, 2 stars below average and 4 stars above average. The creepiness factor of the group squatting in the lounge and staring at us whenever we walked by was pretty disconcerting and unfortunately tipped the scale toward an undeniably "below average" experience.

Room left unclean

I have stayed here for 5 nights this is they worst Hampton Inn and suites!!! I am a Diamond member With Hiltons I stay in Hiltons and especially Hampton Inn and Suites because of the great Breakfast. I ask to have my room cleaned after 2 days I gave my required 24 hr notice also followed up with with the young lady working the front desk. We came back to our room and the key didn't work it took 20-30 minutes to maintenance to open the door and we got in the room was still not cleaned. I had to switch rooms because they wanted me to change my own sheets!! Next the breakfast was terrible, they only had waffles one day ran out, no ketchup, butter, milk, salsa, salt and pepper!!! Every day was eggs, dry cereal, muffins, sausage or bacon. They told me the items were not ordered or it want on the order. Excuse about the food, excuses about cleaning the rooms. The poor front line workers doing the best they could covering for bad management of this property.

Mold growth after 24 hours clearly a known issue as it was clean and appears to have been painted over.

I was not expecting much staff is friendly and helpful, but I had two rooms both had mold growing in walls in between bathroom and room by door, clearly evident growing around light switch in both rooms. Had to cancel stay and change hotels due to my allergies to mold. Attached is picture of mold growth after 24 hours in new room, clearly a known issue as it was cleaned off and appears to have been painted over at some point. this hotel needs to lose its flag.

My only complaint is due to what im assuming was recent renovation there's a strong chemical smell, like when new carpets off-gassing smell. My throat hurt the first 5 hours but then my body got used to it and it was tolerable. Don't think there's an air filtration system in rooms which I think every hotel can benefit from. We had the window open and the fan on, helped a little. Also this is a dog friendly hotel and you wouldn't know it, as it doesn't smell like dogs at all. Breakfast was continental, hot food was scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes. A little dried out a little but ok. Fresh fruit was good too, had watermelon and pineapple. I don't eat waffles but they had those, bagels, muffins. I don't know what the price was as my sister paid but I would have suggested a restaurant if I knew it wasn't free (it's included in some of the rooms). It was good for the convenience tho!

Although I was quite disappointed that the jets in the bathtub that did not work, It was very helpful to have two bathrooms in our room. The room was quite clean and made very well. HOWEVER- staff completely ignored me upon checking in. Her coworker had to tell me that the woman I was trying to check in with was a bubblehead who doesn't pay attention to anything. So he had to intervene and take over (I am not entirely sure of the professionalism in completely throwing your coworker under the bus, lol). I had to call the front desk to have my bathroom cleaned. It had a black ring around the tub and there was extension hair behind the toilet. I mentioned this to the front desk agent and she asked me if I wanted the whole room cleaned. My response was "maybe we should if the bathroom looks this bad!". She laughed and acknowledged that her laughter was an inappropriate response. The room was not addressed until I called a second time after noon. There was rust, mold, dust, and an overall appeal of a hotel in desperate need of attention and refurbishment. But they have free breakfast! Week two: missing essentially all of paper products, and soap upon check-in. Tub does not hold water. Rust on nearly all fixtures. But they have a pool! Week three: I have noticed that I say "good morning" to staff every day and they are buried in their phones. They do not acknowledge customers coming in and out. They definitely have issues with parking as every day I have tried to exit for important work matters and have been met with a delivery truck or shuttle directly in front of the hotel with not much of a way for customers to get their cars out. Week 4: I'm so over this place. Fights have broken out during my stay. The fire alarm has gone off. Police have visited on a separate occasion, not related to the second issue... One woman in particular was causing trouble for many of the hotel patrons. Staff were informed many times, but nothing was done about this particular woman who was causing massive disruption and physical abuse to others. This is close to being the absolute most ghetto place I've ever stayed at. ...but they have a gym! :::shrug::: Location is prime, however. You decide, lol. Inconsistent, unprofessional, outdated... but they have a fitness room (obviously unimpressed at this point)! Definitely not a pleasant experience during the entirety of the month. This place needs an extensive overhaul of staff professionalism, service, support, cleanliness, communication, and appeal. :::This concludes my four week diary:::

After a day and a half of no power, decided to check in at a hotel to take showers, use Internet, and watch some TV. Asked my sister, who lives hundreds of miles away and had power and Internet, to find us a place, and for some reason she chose here. Personally, I was not planning to spend the night (sleeping at home without power wasn't a problem), though some of us were considering it. However, after checking in, we all decided we wouldn't be spending the night. It's too noisy sitting directly on the Boston Post Road, and it's the kind of place where the people staying in the next room leave their door open with their kids running around screaming. We showered and hung out that day using wifi and the TV, and also returned the next morning to shower. In addition to noise, other negatives include: - slow wifi - shortage of towels (they ran out, we had to wait until evening after the laundry came back to finally get enough) - TV remote not working - lousy selection of TV channels (only news channel was Fox?) - certain lamps not working I will give them credit on three things: - the room was reasonably clean, especially the bathroom (which was my main concern) - the guys working the front desk were friendly, with the white guy working nights particularly helpful - the free breakfast wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. The Douwe Egberts coffee machine in particular was pretty decent. So what does that all mean? I'm not sure! The place wasn't good, but also wasn't as bad as its reviews on TripAdvisor suggested. While we chose not to spend the night because we had a quiet (albeit powerless) home nearby to sleep in, if you check into a motel on the Boston Post Road, you probably aren't expecting a silent night. So if you need a cheap place to stay in the area, or moreso, if you ever find yourself in a situation like we did and just want to use the shower and hang out during a power outage, seems you could do worse.

Before I explain, In depth, the horrendous experience and disgusting attitude I was given by a member of their staff, I was well aware of the fact I had chosen a cheap motel and wasn't expecting anything other than a clean bed to sleep in and a shower. So here it goes... First and foremost... the place is a bonafide "crack shack". This place is the sketchiest dump I've ever seen, let alone stayed at. Here's where things went beyond horrendous... After checking in, I decided to get a quick bite to eat at one of the numerous Fast food joints close by. After eating, it was time to crash for the night, so I pulled the "comforter" down to lay down. What awaited me was the most disgusting surprise I'd ever seen. It was immediately obvious that the bed hadn't been changed since the previous guests. There were hairs scattered all over, yet that was the least of concern. (Yeah, it was that bad). Upon further inspection, I realized there were multiple stains scattered across the the sheets. The sorta stains that no person ever wants to see on a bed! On top of that, there were multiple cigarette burn holes. So I walked back over to the front office to deal with the issue(s). Told the lady working that the sheets weren't changed and absolutely disgusting. Her response? It wasn't to send someone to quickly change them and apologize. Oh, definitely not. She demanded I return to my room to collect the filthy sheets myself and walk back yet again, to grab the "clean" sheets. I suppose she looked at me as the sorta person who scams motels for sheets. Lol. The best part of this story is that when I brought the filthy sheets back to the front office, I placed them on the ground where I saw laundry machines and the old lady demanded I pick them back up and place them in a bin in a different room! So take it from me, stay the F away from this hell hole at a costs. Even if it means sleeping in your vehicle.

Comfortable enough, but stripped-down amenities and loud heater/AC unit in the outer wall brand this as a low-end place. (In fact, paying north of $100 for this feels wrong.) I've seen complaints about the Wi-Fi here, though it's working just fine for us. Repeatedly having to click "I Agree" gets tiresome after a while, but for free Wi-Fi, it's doing the trick. The hotel gets three stars instead of two, though, on the strength of this morning's breakfast-room staffer, who quietly navigated the overstuffed space, dodging slow-moving elderly guests and fast-moving children (and their bouncing rubber balls), efficiently stocking and restocking the muffins and bananas and waffle-maker supplies.
