This hotel is being renovated, aka- there is good an bad. The bad was pretty evident quickly. No parking- there are huge shipping containers at the back of the parking lot taking up parking and sprawled out- I had to park behind a container and felt very nervous about lack of visibility. I was traveling alone and this was a huge safety concern. I stayed on my way up to NC and on the way back to FL- so 2 night, but separated by days in between. Next- the back door of the hotel was out of order- so the closest entrance was no open. Next- the sidewalk at the back of the hotel is horrible and doesn't continue around the building, so you have to walk in the parking lot, instead of having a sidewalk that goes around the entirety of the building. My second visit- they had the plumbing worked on and I was warned that the water coming out of the taps may be brownish and to run it for a few minutes first. And- only one elevator was operational & the floor of that elevator was disgusting. Ok- that was a lot. The good- the 2nd floor looked mostly done with renovating. Flooring outside the elevator and down the hallway looked new. The floors in both my rooms were new, new furniture, bathrooms mostly redone- or at least a work in progress. Beds were comfy, breakfast was packed in the morning- but fine. Overall a decent stay. read more

This is not your typical Hampton Inn. Paper thin walls, noisy, weird smell thoughout hotel, bathrooms need update. The neighborhood is questionable at best. Loud, obnoxious trucks racing up and down the road, rap music blaring from car in parking lot, upstairs guests apparently bowling at 2am. We checked out ASAP, 6:49 a.m. Couldn't get out fast enough. My wife and I stayed here for one night on a Friday in October. We did our research online and there were not many Hilton options in the areas we were searching. We were on our way to visit friends in Charleston and wanted to take a leisurely drive and spend the night before reaching Charleston on Saturday morning. We settled on this Hampton Inn in Manning, SC. As usual we booked online, checked in on the app and used the digital key in the app. We arrived about 7pm and were able to go directly to our room. The room appeared clean but also looked like it could use updating. The hotel has most of the regular amenities that Hilton properties offer including a fitness area, business area, nice big lobby, included basic breakfast and an outdoor pool. However, we did not take advantage of the other amenities. Overall, it was a good stay. It was clean, quiet and comfortable and we would recommend to others. read more

This hotel is one of the worst I I have stayed in. The hallways smelled like cigarette smoke. The room was ok but the bathroom was just nasty. I had to re clean the toilet because it didn't appear to be clean. The shower was just disgusting, we had to go buy shower shoes to take a shower. I didn't even want to touch the shower walls. I didn't complain because we were only there for an overnight stay. We did not have the breakfast. I would not recommend this hotel. read more

We were very pleased with the polite, kind and respectful service we received from the young man at the desk. The room was clean and neat. This review involved an email to the General Manager: Victoria McKnight as to issues w/my hotel stay and her neglect to respond until I sent a second email. I emailed her on 11/17/21, after 16 days, I emailed her again (12/3/21) stating thank you for not responding to my first email. She then woke up and three days later (total of 19 days) had the time to respond to my first email. I am very cautious w/the pandemic so I bring a tub of lysol wipes to hotels and wipe everything down in the room. I have to say I found no dirt on any of the wipes I used, of course you can't see finger or handprints on wipes, but the room seemed to be immaculate. My two major gripes were that the hotel entrance states MASKS MUST BE WORN yet some guests come in w/o a mask and/or walk around the hotel w/o wearing a mask. I asked the front desk clerk how come he does not say anything to those guests and he responds with "I can't tell guests that they must wear a mask". That does not make any sense, I guess he doesn't care about my safety. My other gripe pertains to the sanitizer stands by the elevators, the one in the lobby and the one on the 4th floor where I stayed. Both were EMPTY and had gross brown sludge sitting in the catch tray of the dispenser where you put your hands. So I emailed Ms. Brainiac, I mean the GM and she responds, please disregard the incorrect punctuation, verbiage, past tense and pluralism, as I am quoting her email EXACTLY how she wrote it. "According to our governor mask are required in the state of SC. It's always an issue about the mask, most people complain about wearing masks and very little complains about wearing masks at all. Then she goes on to say, "I'm sorry if you have an issue about wearing of the mask but our governor is who you need to be writing or emailing complaining about that". Now if you reread what I wrote above, it clearly DOES NOT state that "I" have an issue with wearing a mask, it STATES that I have an issue with those that aren't wearing masks in the hotel and why your staff does not say anything to the guest. She then goes on in her email stating "The sanitizer does leak a lot and I'm quite sure that what the dried-up brown stuff that's on the sanitizer machine". This is what I call a sentence that was NEVER finished. I am blown away that this woman is the GENERAL MANAGER of such a highly rated hotel chain that I frequent, though not the one in Manning, SC ever again because one's life may be in jeopardy if the state mandates MASKS MUST BE WORN, but the employees don't care to include the General Manager. Poor Management to say the least and the hotel big wigs need to get someone to manage this specific hotel with someone that knows how to read an email and respond accordingly and be more concerned about the health and safety of the guests. I love the Hilton chain, but this hotel needs some rescuing. read more

Very nice hotel. Conveniently located off I-95 to the east. The area does not seem to be the nicest part of town but the hotel seemed well kept. There is plenty of parking. The check-in was easy and friendly. The hotel common areas were kept very clean. We checked in and were assigned a room as far away from the front desk. It was by the back door. I think it was room 115. It had a beautiful bathroom and a fairly large room. Unfortunately, the one drawback of rooms at this location is the ice machine which was fairly noisy. They have a small but decent workout room located just past the lobby and the breakfast was a continental type breakfast in a very nice seating area directly in front of the lobby. Overall it was a very nice stay and I would recommend this place for fellow travellers. read more

We stayed at this hotel one night and overall the hotel staff were pleasant check in was easy. The free breakfast was ok for a quick cup of coffee and a something quick to eat. They started at 6 am which was really convenient for the early risers like me. My one huge grip and reason foe the 1 star was the condition of the bathroom shower. It was absolutely filthy so much so that I would not wash my dog in it. Guys please take some cleanser and scrub the muck and dirt off the walls and floors of the actual shower and the bathroom floor it was disgusting. As a Hilton Honors Diamond member I stay in a lot of Hilton properties; mainly Hampton Inn and Hilton Garden Inn. They generally are good quality and very consistent. Until Hampton Inn Manning SC. The hotel is run down compared to other properties but nice enough. Checked in the evening of 11/16/22 and out 11/17. The morning of the 17th, upon turning on the lights in the room I saw a dead mouse on the floor between the bed and the desk. Naturally was surprised as this doesn't happen every day. I brought it to the desk clerk's attention; she took my info to pass on to the GM (Ms. Victoria). The irony now is that this review really isn't about the mouse, it's about the lack of response I've gotten from the hotel management (as in none). This is after informing the front desk, emailing the General Mgr (Ms Victoria) myself and contacting corporate regarding the mater. It is now 11/28/22 and I've still not heard a thing. I didn't even ask for a refund, just some additional points. Based on my experience I cannot recommend this Hampton location. read more

Very comfy beds & convenient location, but breakfast was disappointing & pillows were way too soft. They have an outdoor pool here & plenty of parking in the back but not much out front. Decor is a bit dated but not as bad as other hotels I've stayed at. There's a larger mini fridge in the room as well which was a nice bonus too. Overall we'd stay here again while road tripping if that happens to be the town we decided to stay over in again, but there's nothing to be wowed by or that makes it truly stand out on its own. read more

On a roadtrip from New York to Florida the traffic did not permit us to reach Charleston so we stopped in Manning looking to spent the night. The hotel,seems fairly new, we were welcomed at the reception. The room is clean and well equiped. Free and fast internet, well done. Overall a nice place to stay. read more

We spent Monday 7/10/23 night at this Hampton. Let me say that I rarely do reviews but felt this one was necessary. When we checked in we informed the gentleman that we had a small service dog and had our paperwork out to show him but he said fine and didn't request to see it. During our stay we had an issue with the toilet and one of the lights was broken. When we reviewed our bill we found that they had charged us $75. for our service dog. This is a clear violation of the AMERICAN'S WITH DISABILITIES ACT. We tried to reach the manager of this Hampton but were put off on numerous phone calls. After the fourth call we asked for the manager to return our call. Four days later we are still waiting. We wanted to give this Hampton the benifit of the doubt and allow them to correct this matter but obviously they have no interest in customer service or what is legal or not, by law. Completely unprofessional and non-responsive to issues. I reached out to Hilton corporate and multiple times to the hotel itself. Was told that the GM would contact me but has not. Be aware that they do not care about you as a customer or as a guest. When you make a reservation your checkout time is 11 AM, but they have a policy of knocking on your door at 9 AM to see if you have checked out and they don't care if you're still sleeping or not. You are not required by law to put the do not disturb sign on those are there for your convenience and if you choose to use it, you may but that room is yours until check out. If you request extra time beyond 11 AM and are granted that time you should not be disturbed until that time has passed. They should never disturb their customers before check out. Late night noise will be met with a young man at the front desk, stating that he's not gonna go knocking on random doors to find the noise. That is certainly not my job. As a guest my job is to notify the front desk and their job is to put a stop to excessive noise. We will never stay at this property again, and I advise you to make other arrangements as well. read more

This place is actually nice. The rooms are cute and clean, the staff is great, the grounds are modern and feel safe, even though it's right off the interstate. It even has a little tiny pool and breakfast included. For the price I could only ask for one more thing: internet for all. Currently, you have to be a Hilton Honors member to get wifi. I'm sure it's not THAT difficult to sign up, but who wants another email in their inbox? Not I. I like this hotel. I would stay here again...IF it offered wifi for all. I stopped in here on 12-23-2018 en route to sunny Florida. My room rate was $94. My experience was very positive. My check-in was smooth. My room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The toiletries were nice too. I requested a handicap room. The bench in the tub seemed a bit low and made getting up after sitting down a bit of a challenge. I managed though. The breakfast was good. Plenty of selections. Hot. The apple and orange juice were very cold and good. I can see myself stopping here again whenever I am in the area. Keep up the great service. read more

Don't expect breakfast if you're on time. And, if you are a loyal Hilton patron, this place will teach you how the loyalty function is NOT supposed to work. However, there is free entertainment if you call the front desk. They'll ask you to hold, put the phone down, and you'll learn a whole lot about what the staff thinks of their jobs. My wife and I have stayed here a couple of times on our way to Florida from Virginia. This is what you'd expect from a Hampton Inn. It's very clean and the staff are very nice and have that southern hospitality every time we've stayed. Much appreciated! Manning, South Carolina is not a metropolis, but this hotel is conveniently located to a few recognizable fast food restaurants. There is a Zaxby's right across the street definitely worth eating at as well as Wendy's, Taco Bell Express, Popeye's and a few others down the street. The hotel has a very nice workout room available to their guests and it even seems to be slightly larger than the average Hampton Inn fitness center. A wonderful breakfast is served every morning from 6:00a until 10:00a. We'll definitely keep on making this our halfway destination! read more

As a Hilton Rewards customer that spends a lot of time in Hampton Inns throughout the year between vacations and playing half-century softball - I rate each inn due to specific areas, cleanliness, comfort, affordability, staff, and breakfast. We were ok with cleanliness, affordability, and comfort - what was the issue was the breakfast - or the lack thereof. We came down for breakfast at 9:15, there were no eggs, no bagels, and no hot water for oatmeal. When told about this - the attending person for the area (black female with tattoo on neck) wanted to know "who was asking" about the food. We were also told that "there was a big rush" - that's not the guests issue. If you serve from 6am - 10am, then it should be consistent and not having to worry about a threatening inflection by a staff member. Ironically the employee was wearing a "scrub" shirt with peace emblems. I would defer to the Hampton north or south of this particular one until this issue is addressed and rectified. read more

Very nice hotel for the highway traveller. The property is very clean, the rooms are fresh smelling and very clean. The bathrooms as well. Our experience with the staff, albeit short, was very good. The night clerk was very friendly and well spoken and made our sleepy early am check in a breeze. THis hotel also comes with a free breakfast, which had all the standards; oatmeal, various cereals, mixed fruit, yogurt options, previously frozen bagels, muffins, eggs/sausage, waffle maker and so on. Out of the options in the area it's the best choice, just don't get a room near the elevators/ice makers as they get noisy early. read more

As what I call a route 85 stopover hotel, they certainly didn't care that we checked in at 2 am and needed our sleep. At 8:30 the housekeepers were banging things in the hallway. It was so loud, it woke me up. Then at 9am, they were busting in our door yelling "housekeeping" I called them out in it and they didn't apologize, I've been up and down Rt 95 for 20 years and they always respect your sleep. I stay here every year on my way to and from FL. Always a good experience in Manning (the one in Santee was dirty). I didn't make a reservation until last minute from my phone and I put the wrong date in. Called, and the front desk took care of everything, very courteous on the phone and she was there when I got there and was very nice then. Not sure why others said they had to walk to the front of the building from the back, there is an entrance in back. Ive always had late check in, always parked in back. Never felt unsafe or had any issues coming in the back entrance. read more

Before you read this the room was immaculate. If that's the only thing you care about ignore the rest. I travel every week spending 200+ days in a hotel every year. I normally don't review the hotels because my employer forces us to use the Hilton family of hotels. Sort of like going on a blind date and then complaining. In this instance it was unfortunately my choice to stay here on a long drive to visit some family. The check in experience was horrible there were two people behind the counter one looked with no success for the reservation of the gentlemen ahead if me for near forever and the other was walking around aimlessly like I didn't exist. When she did finally acknowledge me I got a couple of "humphs" and "sighs" while she typed into the computer. She then slid me my room keys like a back ally drug deal across the counter and said absolutely nothing. It was very awkward. Being the top level reward member I was entitled to a free snacks. When I requested two Tolberones for the kids she again gave me blank stares before walking and pouting four feet away to grab them, but not before typing into the computer for 10 minutes for something not related to me. It was 90+ on the day I checked in and apparently they don't cool the hallways. Stepping off the elevator to the second floor was worse then stepping outside it was so hot. I am a frequent Hamptonite so I used to their powered egg breakfast. This one seemed especially bad the next morning. Ugh! I hate Manning and everything in it. Except the liquor store! We mentioned we just got in from a 15hr drive. There was no effort to try and accomadate us. Usually good customer service would at least check. My sister and I alternated between Manning and Sumter based on whether we needed great service (Sumter), good rooms (Manning), or proximity to the hospital (Manning). These are not the friendliest folks but the hotel was pretty new and the beds were great. I am a Hilton woman because their beds are amazing. 1.1.13-1.5.13 First week of January 2013....all is well with the hotel. Daddy? Not looking so great. 3.3.13 Staying in room 111 which has double beds. Checked in yesterday, slept in bed1. Went to sleep on bed2 a few minutes ago and there is blood on the fitted sheet and the pillow case, and even on the mattress pad. Then the person staffing the front desk had the audacity to ask us to meet her at the laundy room, then gave us the damn sheets to change ourselves. In all the years I have traveled I have NEVER been given sheets to change myself. As sure as I am who I am, this is only the beginning. 3.4.13 Manager credited points for one night back to my account. 3.22.13 We buried our father. On this Friday night - of the thousands of nights I have stayed in hotels without EVER causing any problems, Hampton Inn Manning called the police because they said we were making too much noise at 10pm. We were communing, laughing, grieving. After two months of patronage and business, after informing them In advance that additional family members would be arriving for the funeral, after enduring the renovation inconveniences - on THIS night of all nights they called the cops. That was so egregious, so unconscionable, so customer-cataracted that I will NEVER, EVER, EVER stay at this hotel again. I will use my points elsewhere. In with a bang. Out with nary a whimper. Do hotels still have smoking rooms?? Apparently, this one does. I made this reservation a week ago, as we are going from the North to Florida. As we ck'd in, there were people being turned away. I overheard a disappointed customer say that there were no avail rooms anywhere around. My relief @ having booked early was short lived. From the second we opened the room door, the smell of old ashtray filled our senses. Even as I lie in bed, right now, unable to sleep, the smell is almost gagging. Everytime my husband moves the sheets, another gust of ashtray up my nose. We are not smokers and to have this hotel's reservations person not tell us this is a smoking room was bad customer service. No other rooms avail anywhere or I would have left last night. Love Hamptons, hate this one. Will never stay here again. I can't wait to get to my next destination to wash the smoke smell out of my hair. My husband insisted on adding to to my post: Breakfast was poor. Scrambled eggs and gravy were the only hot items avail. Hotel staff (in uniform) was eating the buffet breakfast. Coffee maker was in the bathroom! Gross! Bathroom toilet literally falling apart. Directly off of 95, a good place to stop and rest while heading to the sunshine state; the lobby was clean/inviting, it's a small Inn with only two floors. Check~in was quick/smooth, the two older ladies who was at the counter seemed to work well together but highly distracted talking about things on tv and such. Being a Diamond Hilton Honor member I usually am offered a bottle of cold water. It was hot hot that day as I trudged back and forth to my car in the heat dying of thirst, on one of those trips, I observed a man with a "goodie bag" containing water and i'm not sure what else, cookies maybe as they did put those out at 6 pm. I went back to the check~in counter and asked for a bottle of water; the agent acted as though she didn't know what I was talking about, smh..that good ol boy/girl system run deep, still. I'm not sure if there are Honor rooms but I was placed on the 1st floor near the pool which made that area feel wet with condensation, including my room. Fortunately I had my lysol and febreze to combat the wet/mildewy odor, it was tolerable for the night. The room was clean, a big size for a double with a small bank of cabinets, sink, counter space, fridge and microwave. There's a small closet for storage with mirrored doors. The bathroom has granite counters, water get super hot and has great pressure, plenty of towels with neutrogena products available if needed. The ac unit was a bit loud but effective. Complimentary wi~fi is offered as well as a military/gov discount, there's a free hot breakfast which I didn't take advantage of and didn't spy any "to-go" bags as I departed. I'm a true Hilton/Hampton fan but I think i'll ease on down the road a ways and stay at a different location upon my return trip. There are plenty of eats/gas surrounding the hotel, quick access back to 95 to get back to the business of driving to your summer destinations. read more

This is by far the absolute WORST Hilton property I have stayed in throughout all my years as a Hilton Honors member. I arrived at this location for the Darlington NASCAR race 2 days prior after driving for many hours. I arrived at approx. 1:32pm to check in and hopefully get some rest. I walked in and no one was at the front desk that is because Shelly the front desk attendant was too busy watching TV in the lobby area. She leaned around the corner and stated "Can I help you?" I ask "I would like to check in". I was told from the lobby while she was too busy to get off her chair from watching TV, "Sorry we don't have any rooms, come back later." I ask again "I have been driving for many hours, are you sure there is nothing available yet?. I then received the response of "Nope, nothing I can do, try coming back at 3:00pm!. I left to get some lunch and return to check in with my reservation. I arrived again at approx. 2:43pm and was told again, "Still don't have any rooms available, I won't have anything available until 3:00pm. My wife and I sat in the lobby until she called us to check in at 3:01pm to the minute. It was clearly apparent that she did NOT want to do any type of work that was going to interfere with her watching TV. Right after she finally checked us in she was looking to go home because it was shift change to another girl. This is just the beginning, as we went up to our room to find out that the refrigerator did not work. I called down to the front desk and Shelly answered. I conveyed the issue to her and was told, "I'm not sure what you want me to do, we are booked up for the night and I am going home. I just hung up in frustration. The Darlington race had 2 rain delays and we did not arrive back until approx. 3:26am on the day of departure. I drove around the parking lot looking for a parking space as there were zero because there were 2 large motor homes and a bulldozer taking up 16 parking spots. I then went into inquire from the second useless employee at this location all to be told by Joel "Yeah I don't know what to tell you, you can try parking out on the street" I replied "You are kidding me right, it's a four lane highway". Frustrated even more about this location, it's useless & inept front desk staff I was forced to park in front of their dumpster. After some rest we went to the lobby for breakfast to where over heard once again, "Shelly" state to another hotel employee, "Yeah someone parked in front of the dumpster last night, I hope they move it or else the garbage truck will just have to hit it." I looked at my wife in shear disbelief that this is the type of employees that this hotel location and the Hilton Corp. want being the face of their customer driven business. I feel that both Shelly & Joel should be fired for their lack of concern, empathy and overall kindness to the customer. I am of sound believe that these two employees should be FIRED and left to look for employment in a less customer driven environment. read more

Our experience at this hotel was anything but pleasant. We travel yearly to and from Florida and always look for Hampton Inns. I booked on line while still in Maryland. When we arrived I went to the desk to check in. The young woman was friendly but did not have her mask over her mouth. She put us in a king room on the first floor at the back of the hotel, the first room after the door. The exterior hotel door slammed shut all night long as people kept entering. The room was across from an extremely noisy ice maker motor. The bathroom was inundated with flying, little bugs. I literally killed over 2 dozen but more kept coming. Gross! The ceiling over the shower had a lot of mold spots. Our sheets had stains that I just pray didn't come out when washed. The sanitizer at the back entry shot across the hallway and the one further up was empty. When I complained at checkout about the bugs and noise the girl at the desk took a long time to apologize.
