Called to ask if we wanted housekeeping services or fresh towels. Only downside is the thin walls. We could hear our next door neighbor's entire conversation as well as their late night singing to one another. Yes I said singing. ‍ Hotel is close to many local restaurants and shopping centers. Was 15 minutes from Bryce Jordan Center. Would consider again. Was $200 less than Hampton Inn

There was only one chair in the room. It would've been nice for us both to be able to sit at the same time without one of us havng to sit on the bed especially if we were eating. And there was also only one very small drawer that we had to pile our clothes in. Other than that, it was a really nice stay and I'd recommend this hotel!

I got to have the room to myself and I had no objection to it. It was clean, the bathroom was nice and my bed was comfy. I didn't have to pay for it and the front desk people were nice enough to me. Just your basic, standard hotel stay that was safe and comfortable though not fancy or flashy. You could travel here with your family and go on your merry way without incident. Overall, it was clean and in a great location (not far from PSU and next door to The Waffle House and The Greek). Those were the pluses. So, what was wrong? I can live with the outdated furniture and decor as well as the ripped plastic shower door for a night as I believe they're working on updating rooms. (Some of the other rooms we peeked in as they were being cleaned seemed slightly better.) However, how difficult is it to get rid of the junk outside? Our friends who were staying elsewhere thought it was hysterical that a random bureau was just sitting right outside the motel. Also, we had an easy chair parked directly under our window along with a laundry basket and dirty linens. The basket and linens were there the whole day and were still there when we returned around midnight. Out the back window was a kiddie pool that looked like it hadn't been drained in 3 years along with all kinds of junk. The hanging baskets with flowers that I had seen in pictures were completely empty. Additionally, when we returned at 12 a.m. after a long day, there was not one parking space left and we had to park in The Waffle House parking lot. Updating is expensive. I get it. But throwing away junk like old furniture as well as planting and maintaining flowers should be easy.

Every inch of this home was decorated with history, memories, and love.  (on top of this, its IMMACULATELY clean!)   We stayed in Lydias room (Peggy's daughter) which was perfect with the two beds. We had a 'corner' of the second floor that included our own bathroom and provided quite a bit of privacy if we so wished.  The linens matched the décor, and were soft, smelled OUT of this WORLD, and promoted a great nights rest for us both!   We opted out of breakfast for (2) mornings as we had an AGENDA to be at these yard sales by 0800!! haha   Peggy took it upon herself to make us (2) lunch bags, full of yogurt, sandwich, fruit and all out love for the day!  Our third morning we were blessed to have breakfast with Peggy and 3 other house guests who were also visiting for the yard sale.  You put 5 women at this beautiful breakfast table + Peggy with NO CELL phones.... Provided such a human connection within the 6 of us, it was remarkable!   God willing we will be back - the entire experience was a memory I will never ever forget. Thank you Peggy, for the best weekend EVER with my BFF!!!

Plenty of big fluffy towels, a bathroom counter and medicine cabinet full of toiletries (including those you may have forgotten!), excellent water pressure, and a very clever "privacy curtain" to wall off the room we were staying in with our bathroom (see picture). Our bedroom had several items of an unusual shade of subtle purple that clearly came from different places and times. "Good eye!" my daughter exclaimed when noticing this, and this is evident throughout the house. Our bathroom had a charming balcony with tables and chairs for lounging in warmer weather (see picture). We really enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again if ever again we're in the vicinity.

We loved the decor (even though we are not Penn State alumni). Our room overlooking the courtyard was quite comfortable and the bathroom looked like it had recently been redone. We parked in the garage about a 3-5 minute walk away - overnight parking is validated by the Inn and was no charge. We were disappointed with the pub - the food was average at best (the service was great) - it's one of those places that probably uses premade food from Sodexo or Aramark and hears it up as opposed to actually making food. The tuna poke dish tasted so fishy we couldn't eat it, the chicken salad sandwich was good but not great. The hummus appetizer was large and decent. We had a scoop of ice cream from the Berkeley Creamery and that was good. The coffee shop is very bright and cheery and was quite good in the morning - had a latte, almond croissant, tea and an apple turnover. The service was also great here. If we come back to the area we will definitely stay here again!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience needs to be shared…read more At approximately 6:20 a.m., while I was asleep in my hotel room, a staff member unlocked my door and walked in without knocking or announcing themselves. They immediately saw that I was in the room, quickly closed the door, and left. The incident startled me, and I was unable to get back to sleep. Right after it happened, I called the front desk. I was told that their system showed I had already checked out and that this was the reason the employee entered my room. However, when I looked out into the hallway immediately afterward, there was no housekeeping cart, cleaning supplies, or any indication that the room was about to be cleaned. That left me confused about why my room was entered in the first place. Shortly afterward, I spoke with the manager by phone. The manager apologized and said they didn't understand why it happened, but I was given no explanation beyond that and no indication that the incident would be investigated. At approximately 9:00 a.m., I went to the front desk hoping to speak with the manager in person. I was told the manager was not on site, so I asked the cashier to call them. According to the cashier, the manager did not want to speak with me directly and instead responded that "things happen." I found that response disappointing and unprofessional, especially considering that a staff member had entered my occupied room without knocking or announcing themselves. I also tried to contact corporate because I believe this is a serious guest privacy issue. I was not able to reach anyone so I left a message with a call back number. Every guest deserves to feel safe and have their privacy respected. I hope this incident is investigated and that procedures are reviewed so it does not happen to anyone else.
