Booked this hotel since it looked clean and nice on the website. When we arrived, the main lobby smelled like mopped water. The staff is nice and very friendly; however, they need to improve their rooms cleanliness. Our room was dirty and could tell that the only new items were the towels and maybe the bedsheets. A nice hotel in the Hixson, Tennessee area. As of 2024, there are 2,393 Hampton by Hilton locations across the United States. This franchise is in the Hilton chain of hotels and are known for being moderately priced and having limited food and drink choices. It is right off the hwy 153 in Hixson. It is an older hotel with 3 floors and a covered entrance. The structure seems to be well maintained and the grounds seem clean. Check-in was convenient and easy. The staff was pleasant and friendly. I arrived early and they were nice enough to check, find and allow me to check in early. There is a breakfast area as you enter the hotel across from the check-in desk. It has a long high table in the center of the room and booths with tables along the edge of the room. The room that I checked into was a clean and functional single room with a bathroom to the left as you enter. The space was nice with a closet and bathroom serviced by the same barn door. There is a table for your office work. The TV is on top of a table that has a a microwave and refrigerator underneath and a suitcase holding desk on the other side. There is a couch and a small table. The Air conditioner is a standard lower window unit that is controlled by the wall thermostat. The bathroom was very nice and functional. Overall, for the price, location, convenience and friendly staff, this is a good place to stay in the Hixson area. read more

What a horrible experience. The customer service capabilities of the staff is non existent! We check in, paid an exorbitant amount to have our two small dogs stay at this so call pet friendly hotel, not in the least. The morning of our first and last day, I received a call to complain my dogs barked. As I clearly stated to this person, this WAS a pet friendly hotel and I paid extra to have them. As babies will cry, dogs will bark. Super unfriendly conversation took place and I decided to check out three days early to find somewhere else more acceptable for my pets and me!! This hotel and its staff need to be educated on how to handle situations better. The manager is not doing a good job. Needs new management and staffing. read more

Two stars is an overstatement. Sixty dollars for a two hour early check-in is ridiculous. We made a complaint to the manager and we got lucky with being able to check in at around 8:30 only because my mom got involved. Had to stay for 3 nights because my apartment was getting the plumbing fixed and my landlord paid for my stay. I told the receptionist that I would be paying for the early check-in fee and she ended up charging my landlord for it! Room smells like old cigarettes. it's like the housekeepers don't actually clean the rooms because we found a nail, bottle cap, scratch off ticket, and two broken hair clips. There was an old coffee bag in the coffee maker and plastic in the hole where you put the water in. Breakfast is great, if you just want dry special K.... No milk either... Overall, not great of a stay. read more

This is an older hotel, and in a fairly convenient location. The good: Room was clean, and the lady taking care of breakfast was friendly. The not so good: The two desk clerks I interacted with must have been trained by the same customer UN-friendly manager. We had an issue with bringing an ADA-Registered Service Animal. All four pounds of her. With ADA papers. The evening clerk took it upon himself to approach us in the lobby, declare that we brought an undeclared pet, then demand a $75 pet fee. Thirty minutes of arguing (with the registration papers in hand), he finally conceded to "waive" the fee. It didn't get better the next day when, while checking out, I tried to discretely provide customer feedback to the morning desk clerk (that is, NOT in view of other guests). She had the same attitude in trying to defend the other clerk's bad attitude. Let me be clear- I'm not criticizing the hotel's right to validate an ADA service animal's legitimacy. But the way they handle it makes all the difference between a satisfied customer and an angry one. My guess is that the hotel manager got burned once on pets, and is taking cleaning fees out of his clerks' pay. That's the only way I can explain their attitudes. Note that I didn't get a customer satisfaction survey from the hotel, so decided to post my experience here. Our next night in Memphis was NOT at a Hilton/Hampton property. I Have stayed at Hampton Inns all over the country and all except this location was not up to par . The bathroom had the bare minimum as far as enough towels. The room was not vacuumed moved a chair and garbage from previous persons stay trash was still there. The toilet paper was in the bathroom was a used half roll from the person before which is totally gross. Bathroom floor had not been cleaned and when we tried to pack and leave at 9am we had two housekeepers waiting outside our door to take over the room when checkout was not until 11. Could not access the elevator because housekeeping had four carts blocking and would not move them . All and all the rooms on the surface looks to be cleaned but at a closer glance the rooms are just filthy read more

This is a place to try and sleep. They will charge you good money to do so. They might screw up your reservation (room/s size) and put 5 people in a single room with one king sized bed. There may not be any more rooms available at their inn or anywhere else, so you will take them up on the roll-out folding bed. There may be toenail clippings ON TOP OF THE BEDSPREAD when you walk in to the room initially. The bathroom door may not close, much less lock. The carpet may be completely wet. Hopefully it's from a recent cleaning and not a drunken pisser. Who knows. Some good points: We did get $30 taken off of the bill. The pool area was clean. There is an active full-time security guard that stays mobile at night. read more

Average Hampton Inn perhaps on the lower end of the average scale. Not bad for the money. Basic breakfast.

5 plus stars room was spacious and comfortable. Close to fantastic restaurants and bars . Will return and would recommend

The ladies at the front desk saved our vacation! I made a mistake on my reservation, and even though it was totally my fault, they helped us get a last minute room that had just become available... and it ended up being perfect for us! The room was very clean and a short drive from the city. We couldn't have asked for better service and were very happy with our stay. Thanks so much! read more

This is an older Hampton, but what I would expect for the price. They are in the process of remoldeling so I'm sure once it's done the hotel will be great. There are lots of restaurants near by and it is in a fine location. I have stayed at this hotel at least 4 to 5 times and I will continue to stay here. The manager at this place was terrible. I made a mistake and booked this room for the wrong night. I didn't realize my mistake until the next day when I was charged $170 for this room. I immediately called and talked to a great girl who said they would take care of everything and changed my reservation to the correct night. She called back about an hour later and said her manager wouldn't let her change it and that I had to pay for the night plus the correct night. I fought with them and all he would do is offer the correct room to me at a "discount". I went ahead and booked the room and just out of curiosity went into my Hilton app to see what the room rate was for the correct night and it was $15 cheaper than the "discount" I had been offered. Don't stay here. Stay anywhere but here. I stayed somewhere else. I didn't want to give this manager any of my money. I wasn't going to write a bad review but then I saw he put my room I had booked wrong as cancelled so I didn't even get any Hilton Honors points. Stay. Away. read more

Roaches in our room, when brought to attention of the general manager privately we were chastised for not letting them know about the alleged pests and invited to stay again. Roach infestations are serious issues and usually indicate a major problem and since they serve free continental breakfast its very concerning. read more

You will want to consider other hotels before this one. The hotel is really basic and the staff is not at all friendly. Most other hotels are far nicer with better amenities and for the same or better price. The desk staff was certainly not friendly. I'm surprised Hampton Inn lets them use their corporate name. read more
