Hilton Hotel Feedback (04-29-2025) This Hampton Inn hotel met my requirements for this business trip. However, this Hampton Inn, as well as two others in the Kennesaw GA and Cartersville GA areas, are showing a very disturbing renovation trend: the removal of the Guest Laundry Facilities. The information that I received from a "live" hotel manager is as follows: Hilton Hotels' Hampton Inns are removing Guest Laundry Facilities because Hilton Hotels wants Hampton Inns to cater to short-stay guests whom they assume will not miss the Guest Laundry Facilities. Other Hilton brand hotels like Hilton Garden, Homewood Suites, Doubletree, Home2, etc. will cater to long-stay guests and will retain the Guest Laundry Facilities. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY SHORT-SIGHTED AND VERY BAD IDEA. --- Even short-stay guests need to know that there is a convenient, on-site Guest Laundry solution for: dirty travel clothes from long road trips or family vacations, sweaty exercise clothes from the on-site fitness room, wet soaked chlorine-smelling swimwear from the on-site pool/jacuzzi, and those unexpected food accidents OR bathroom (#2 or "pee") accidents!! --- Each of these three Hampton Inns are in the state of Georgia. However, for my next business trip (to another state), I have already requested a non-Hilton brand hotel, because my preferred Hampton Inns in this other state do not list Guest Laundry Facilities under "Amenities" on both the Hilton mobile app & on the main Hilton web site links. --- My strong, common-sense Recommendation: RESTORE & RETAIN Guest Laundry Facilities for ALL Hilton brand hotels. --- OR ELSE: Loyal Hampton Inn Business & Leisure Travelers will likely choose to avoid the risk of staying at a hotel that may not have on-site Guest Laundry Facilities. --- For "US" Business & Leisure travelers, we do not mind paying an extra $5-$10 dollars per night to cover the cost of having on-site Guest Laundry. To us, it is like "laundry insurance" that some of us hope we will never need. AND ... just one more thing ... (as Columbo use to say) ... This Hampton Inn did NOT even have a plastic laundry bag & laundry send-out paper form to fill out ... for sending dirty laundry outside for cleaning! --- These plastic bags & laundry order forms are traditionally hanging in the closet, and are clipped to one of the clothes hangars. --- Closing Remarks: It is already bad enough that so many Hampton Inn hotels in many states have renovated their rooms ... replacing chest of drawers with metal wire shelves; replacing traditional nightstands with hanging shelves w/o drawers; replacing customer-friendly clock radios with non-adjustable alarm clocks; and installing bathroom sinks with faucets on the left or right side, instead of keeping the faucet in the center of the sink. PLEASE do not compound these short-sighted renovation/policy changes with the imposition of "traveler anxiety" about "what may be missing" from the next Hampton Inn that "US" business & leisure guests have to choose. . This hotel was a HORRIBLE experience. First, upon leaving we realized this hotel had OVERCHARGED our stay by $269. Second, this hotel staff was the least hospitable of any I have ever experienced at any Hampton Inn that we have ever stayed at nation-wide. This staff was rude from the moment we arrived on the property until the moment we left our room upon check out (for no reason or explanation whatsoever). The location and rooms were fine but was offset completely because any interaction with staff over our two night stay was beyond unacceptable. Also, the breakfast was sub-par, and cold. There aren't any masks being worn by the employees I've previously stayed at this location with my emotional support animal. After booking the hotel well in advance and alerting them to the fact that I had an emotional support animal that would be accompanying me on my stay and being assured that it was acceptable. Fast forward to trying to check in and the women at the front desk who were not wearing masks, so reassuring during a pandemic especially when you're greeting multiple guest who are traveling from all over, and they suddenly tell us they do not except dogs unless they are service animals. There really needs to be some clarification or people need to be retrained and Covid safety protocol and telling customers the hotel policy prior to them checking in. read more

This hotel is not a nice place to stay. Not a good impression when you walk into the lobby and see dirty furniture. Most of the carpet has lumps in it. Should be replaced or stretched. The hotel is pet friendly and our room smelled like dog urine. We didn't have any glasses or cups in our room so we asked the person at the front desk for some. We were told to get our own from the coffee area. Did not see anyone tending the breakfast area. Very messy, waffle batter drips all over the counter not being cleaned up. When we checked out the receptionist was not at the desk but was outside smoking. There were several employees at the front door smoking. Not a good impression. Good place to stay away from. Seems like a lot of Hampton Inns are not so nice anymore more. We will cross them off our list. read more

Did not honor reservation. Turned into wrong entrance because their sign is not lit and ended up in a sketchy trailer park. After passing drunks at the entrance, I found a very nice lobby. Clerk accepted my confirmation # then said they had no rooms. My reservation was non refundable and they made no effort to get me a room at another Hilton/Hampton. Stayed here while traveling and i must say I was impressed with this small quaint Hampton. The decore was adorable. Check in was fast and friendly, room was clean and breakfast was good. Can't ask for anything more. The only thing I will say is as another helper noted I do agree there was a stale smoke smell. It wasn't enough to bother me, but I did detect it. We stayed here twice while driving to and from Florida. The hotel is very clean and the breakfast is good. The girl who serves the breakfast is very friendly and accommodating. Front desk staff is also very helpful. This hotel is a bit of a drive is you are coming off of I75. There is no exit here so you have to drive off the beaten path for 5 to 10 minutes. Still a great place tp stay and sleep. read more

When I stop in Cartersville I have stayed in the Hilton Garden Inn, but my Yelp friends are saying that it's not as good as it once was. So, I decided to try the Hampton and I was pleased. I liked my room with only a shower and not a tub. Safer for me, I think. Breakfast not as good as some Hamptons are, but I went on my way satisfied. The only downside is the access into the place. It's on a divided road so coming from I-75 necessitates a u-turn. The hotel is on a steep hill well-hidden from the road with only a little sign to show where the drive is. I missed it on a bright sunny day; I hope that it's lit at night! Now that I know how to find it, I will be back when I am in Cartersville. read more

Not a good experience last night at the Hampton Inn Cartersville. I chose the hotel because it was the highest rated in the area, and very close to the medical offices where I had to take my son today. My dad says that he prefers places that aren't the best around because they will always try harder - they want to be the best. I guess it's true in this case -I need to listen to my sweet daddy more often! Check-in was easy enough. The person checking me in was pleasant - at least until she saw that I had booked through Booking.com. I swear, anytime I've read something like that in a review I honestly figured the reviewer was being overly sensitive. It was totally true in this case! Her friendliness rapidly turned chilly, like flipping a switch. So weird. It's not like I got any great bargain at $130 a night! From there: 1) Room by the elevator. Not the worst, that was the room by the ice machine, but what had to be the second worst. 2) Walk into the room and it reeks. I immediately thought stale cigarette, which definitely was part of the stink. I wanted to change rooms right then but my son(College age and doesn't notice funk smell obviously...he lives in a dorm!) immediately plopped on a bed and didn't want to repack all the stuff he'd unloaded while I was parking the car. Considering we'd just come from his grandfather's funeral, I didn't push it. 3.) We left to get a quick bite somewhere, came back and the stink was still going strong. And, the longer I was there the worse it got. My eyes hurt from the stale smoke. But, the absolute grossest smell was like sweaty, stinky, putrid shin guards and cleats. If you haven't smelled that, just trust me, you never want to!! All night long this smell gagged me, as I tossed and turned. 4) My tennis shoes stuck to the bathroom floor with every step...anywhere and everywhere I stepped. Ugh and not enough towels to cover the floor with, to walk on. It was a laminate wood, and the same flooring was in the elevator. We didn't stick to the floor in the elevator, and that says quite a lot! (Puking over here) 5) Son goes to get in his bed, and there is hair all over his pillow. 6) Young guy checked in after us, had his 12 pack of beer, and she places him directly above us. This was a Sunday night, and the hotel was not full at all!! So, with this in mind, it pisses me off even more that she would put us there, and then put him over us. And of course it led to all sorts of loud noises all night long. I don't think he was doing anything out of the ordinary. It was the thin floor/ceiling! Absolutely awful. 7) And, worst of all in Georgia, an AC that didn't work. We tossed and turned all night. So uncomfortable. Unable to sleep from the stuffy heat, and having to smell that stink AND having to listen to him drag bodies across the floor above us (sounded like...laying there all night, unable to sleep, disgusted...the mind wanders. I was envisioning him dismembering someone and stuffing her in a large suitcase. It happens people!). Without the ac or even a fan, it was silent and I heard it all -through earplugs! FYI this was room 234. Oh, and it had a lovely view of a wall and roof. Not one leaf. nada. OH! And no pool. My son checked. It deserves 1 Star...but, sadly, I've stayed at even worse, . read more

let me just tell you about this place. I booked thru expedia for two queens with option to pay at hotel. I get to hotel and Maria at the front desk automatically charges my card without saying a word. I inform her that wasn't the card I wanted to use but it was too late. I go to my room to find a king bed. I'm traveling with teenage boys, we can't sleep on a king bed. I go back and tell Maria that I booked two queens. She tells me Expedia booked a king but told me she had no proof to show me. I call Expedia and they tell me they booked two queens and sent me proof. Asked for a manager. She tells me best she can do is a rollaway bed. I accept because at this point it's late and we're frustrated but I still wanted proof That Expedia booked the wrong room. She couldn't give it to me. I call corporate Hilton and find out that Maria canceled my two queen and rebooked thru Expedia a king. I ask to speak to general manager who was rude and said I shouldn't have gone thru a third party. I am so angry about the whole situation and ask Maria why she didn't just tell me there were no queens and I could've found somewhere else. She blamed it on her coworker. After talking to corporate again, they inform me that I never spoke to a general manager because it's a guy and I spoke to a woman. i could continue with many more lies this hotel pulled but it would take all night. Ultimately Hampton Inn and corporate lied multiple times and have never tried to fix the problem or own their lies. All this to say, if you want to risk your reservation being changed and you don't mind being lied to then this is the place for you read more

As far as Hampton Inns go, this one is interesting. It is located right off 75 in Cartersville, so the location is convenient. It is also right down the street from the hospital, which makes it convenient to where I have to work when I am there. Rooms are standard Hampton with bed, HDTV, rounded shower curtain, dreamy pillows and comfortable bed, hair dryer, coffee maker, etc. There was a post-it on my bed that said comforters were washed...that was a weird way to let you know this. My coworker did get put in a smoking room and have to move because it was too much to handle....weird that there were a few random smoking rooms that were located beside non-smoking rooms? Anyway, just be aware that if you don't like that, you should be sure to ask. Internet is complimentary, but why must I put in the code every single time I want to use it. Are there that many people trying to use the wifi on the DL? The hotel is set up with the rooms around a courtyard of sorts...so the breakfast area is in the middle there on the first floor. If your room is on the first floor across from this, you might want to remember your earplugs or you will be awakened by people walking by, talking, and eating breakfast. Boo! Breakfast was standard Hampton....some warm items, some yogurt, cereal, fruit, etc. I will say that the staff here was awesome. I left my car here overnight the day before I checked in and they recommended to park it under some cameras and kept a good eye on it for me. Plus they confirmed that we needed to go to Appalachian Grill so they were nice, informative, and did their job effectively. No problems there. Overall it is an A-OK Hampton Inn. read more

The atrium in the center of the hotel amplifies sound - and for the two nights I stayed there groups of people were up late visiting and making a great deal of noise. Additionally, the floors between the rooms are not very well sound-proofed - I could hear very footstep from the room above me. I was double charged for an 8 day stay at this hotel, causing a huge inconvenience for me. Management could not explain why this error occurred. Being charged $1241.10 is not an error!! They need to be handled with by higher management!! I'm fairly disappointed in the customer service of this hotel. I booked for business travel through a third party company. This is something I'm obligated to do through my company. Unfortunately, they put me at a hotel 25 mi from my work site. When I called Hilton to try to move to a closer Hampton hotel, this one refused. Clearly they're not wanting to make their customer happy, only their wallets. With the look of the hotel being new-ish I was expecting a fresher smell when I walked in the room. It was gross. It's nothing I could put my finger on, but it didn't smell good AT ALL. Aside from that, it was FREEZING and the bathroom floor was sticky (YUCK)! The thermostat was set to 61. That 6-1! I bumped it up to 72 and left for dinner. After 3.5 hours, it was only to 65. Ridiculous when it's 34 degrees outside! This one is on my NEVER AGAIN list! read more

This Hampton was recently renovated with a bright, modern look in both the open lobby and breakfast area as well as the rooms themselves. The best way to describe how the rooms look is "IKEA" like. The facility is very clean with excellent service, and it's located far enough away from the highway to give you a great night's sleep. read more

Great hotel!! Clean and friendly people. Very modern and updated. Although a very light breakfast is offered. The staff goes out of the way to help you. My son misplaced his wallet and the general manager kindly sent the wallet back a couple days later when it was found. We were so grateful. The beds are comfortable the bathroom is roomy and has plenty of space/storage and bonus because it has three towel hooks (no hotels have these) thanks for a comfortable stay. I do suggest they have better signage as it's hard to find in the dark. read more

After coming from the other hotel we were at I was glad to be coming to the Hampton Inn. The hotel was clean and I could see in the distance the oj dispenser. This is a smaller nice hotel. The front desk was nice upon arrival. The room was clean and our feather free request was done. Parking was plenty albeit around the back of the hotel. What i did not appreciate was the 35 minutes we waited to get scrambled eggs, bacon and potatoes in the morning. No less than 18 people left before they could get their hot breakfast. My wife and I stayed at the Hampton Inn, Cartersville, GA for three nights. We originally planned to stay for one night but fell in love with the staff at this hotel and extended our trip another two nights! The hotel is beautifully renovated, comfortable and clean! Definitely the best Hampton Inn we have stayed at. The pool is small but very clean. I spent my last day lounging at the pool. I read some reviews before we arrived and was a little concerned when they assigned us a first floor room across from the lounge where they serve breakfast. There were a few reviews about the noise. However, while we were there there they were booked solid with two weddings and a traveling baseball league. One of the wedding parties had their rehearsal dinner in the lounge (about 50 people) and we heard absolutely nothing while in our room. The staff at this hotel are absolutely wonderful! Room was clean and the staff were very friendly but the hotel itself is desperately in need of some maintenance and some cosmetic attention. As a Hampton brand hotel I'd rate it a 3. But for a clean, comfortable stay, it is a 4. The reason is, as other reviews has said, the hotel is in need of renovation. But our room had new carpet, bed and linens were comfortable. Shower had plenty of pressure and warmth. We stay exclusively in Hampton Inns when we travel. I would definitely stay here again.
