A very strong first experience for my return to this property. This Hampton Inn airport location was not my first choice. However, it worked out extremely well for value and was on point with every metric. Plus renovated since my last stay. The location is not only by the airport, but also walking distance from the mall and chain restaurants. The lot was clean and had a decent snout of Diamond parking which I appreciate. The signage was tidy as was the landscaping. Check in was delightful with friendly and helpful staff. Warm cookies could be grabbed from their cookie jar and so yummy after coming off the road. A gentleman was mopping and cleaning the lobby upon arrival which I value. Everything looked slick and span. The digital key did not work and was reset. My status was recognized and water, plus free parking. The room was prepared for my arrival. All supplies necessary for the bath were on hand. Things looked fresh and recently renovated. The bath tub had a non slip material on the bottom and shower was extremely powerful. I used the TV and fridge. The alarm clock had multiple electronic jacks which was great. My only complaint on accommodations was the temperature control. I had trouble keeping it cool with a censor being the possible issue. It was not overall that big of a deal, but frustrating. Breakfast was ok, they had the standard chow and it was clean. The coffee station is nearby the check in counter. Coffee and tea were good. No water, but the front desk was happy to provide water bottles. Check out was done online. I was satisfied with my three day stay and would absolutely return to this property. We originally had other plans for this weekend which were changed due to the recent Hurricane weather events in NC. With a few days notice, we decided to explore the area of Roanoke. As usual, we went to the Hilton app because we prefer to stick with their family of hotels. My wife compared the reviews on TripAdvisor and Yelp as well as the Hilton website to make our hotel selection. We chose the Hampton Inn & Suites Roanoke Airport primarily because of the reviews. We arrived shortly after 8:30pm on Saturday evening. The hotel was easy to find and parking was free and ample. We checked in earlier using the app but decided to stop in and obtain physical key cards as well. The woman at the front desk was friendly and helpful and before long we were headed to our room. The room style we chose was the king studio suite. We liked the room setup, which we had not seen before, most likely because we don't often stay at Hampton Inn properties when traveling within Hilton. The room was spacious and well laid out for our needs. We also found our room to be extremely quiet which can be hard to find sometimes, especially when located on the first floor. During our two nights we came and went several times as we explored the area and were impressed with the property. It appears to be well maintained and clean. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. They offer breakfast from 6-10am each morning but we did stop in. They also have an indoor pool, guest laundry and at least one meeting room. Deacon enjoyed his Homemade Waffles with Butter, Syrup, Cool Whip and sprinkles with Apple Juice. I had a hard boiled egg with toasted onion bagel with cream cheese and orange juice Kayla had some sausage, Potatoes with an a Omelet with shredded Cheddar cheese and cranberry juice. We stopped in here after a long day of driving, hoping to explore roanoke. The computer system was down as we checked in. Not ideal, but the front desk staff was accommodating and had a system to get us our room. As my family of four (two small kids) made our way to the 4th floor for our room, we noticed two sealed (with plastic wrap) rooms directly across from us. I immediately called down to figure out what was going on (fearing bugs or something) - turns out they were renovating those two rooms, and they wouldn't be working on it while we were there. While making the call I pulled back the sheet to find bits of sand and dirt. Okay, not terrible, but less than ideal. I then pulled back the sheets on the other bed to find hair in the bed. Someone had clearly been using the room. Back downstairs I got keys to another room (which was a struggle since the system was down). This was one floor up and directly next to another set of renovating rooms. The room smelled like chemicals. Within seconds my daughter said she had a headache, a few seconds later I got one too. Going back down, they gave us a third room - this one was a bit worse for the wear (chipping on the bottom of furniture, some hard water stains in the bathroom) but was clean and perfectly fine. Around this time my inlaws arrived to check into their room. There was a giant rust stain in the middle of the tub. The front desk didn't really see anything wrong with this. It's the size of a large dinner plate, not a spec, and at first glance it didn't look like rust. I have no idea how they can think it's a good idea to rent that room without even addressing that. The rest of the hotel was just slightly run-down and not well maintained. You could see built up dust and dirt on the end of the hallway where the vacuum doesn't catch it easily. The elevators were shaky. Hampton inns put up posters in each elevator that are changed periodically, the same one from the beginning of our trip at another hotel was still up, and was starting to peal. There were visible scratch marks from this process all over the door. I do have to say: The breakfast was well run and as expected. The pool was surprisingly clean and well kept (though the hardware on the door to it was rusting). Lastly was parking: There is limited parking out front and to the side. When we came back from dinner it was all taken so we headed out back, where there was hardly any light. However, the door to the elevator opens out there - so this is even more convenient place to park to unload your car if you're not coming in at night... but I just wouldn't come back here. read more

The checkin with Jessica was great. The staff we ran into throughout the following morning were super nice. Checkout was quick. The room was clean and smelled nice as did the hallway. The AC was turned on for us as well and the room was comfortable. The bed was comfortable, the sheets were nice, and the comforter was Amazing!! The pillows were like clouds!!!! It was a great night's sleep even with my kid kicking me. The (I believe pleather (animal safe)) couch was comfortable. There was some construction going on outside and inside. It looks like they were refreshing the hotel. They did keep the noise at a minimum in the morning. There was plenty of parking, even with the construction however, the back door was blocked and inaccessible. The business area was nice. The fitness center was large and clean! The snack area was limited in what they were offering but there were some snacks and juice that I grabbed for the kids. We didn't use any other areas or go to breakfast as we arrived late. read more

I stayed overnight for one night in December. I had a King suite, which was clean and spacious. I do think the hotel is taking great measures to mitigate risk during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The only issue I have is breakfast. One front desk attendant said it started at 6am, the other said it started at 7am. I had to leave at 7, so no breakfast for me. It would be nice if they had carry-out options before 7am like some Hampton Inns have. read more

Review during Covid 19 Pandemic. The hotel requires mask and I could tell they were doing their best to maintain a safe and healthy environment for guests. They had tables marked as sanitized, required masks, the trim was very clean, and if you choose breakfast you ordered instead of the usual buffet. Our room was nice, we got a King bed suite. We were hoping for it to have a hidden nook for our baby to sleep, but it didn't. She did enjoy the extra space to runaround in. The room was nicely renovated but some of things were that the AC was very loud, part of the base board was missing, the stopper in the sink was missing, and the comforter had a rip. I enjoyed a nice hot shower and the two men that I encountered working at the desk were very nice. read more

If I could give this hotel zero stars I would. The place was filthy and I would never stay here again. We found a pair of socks just laying on the floor in plain sight. In addition there were large stains all over the comforter that made the room impossible to stay in. I sincerely doubt this room was even cleaned before we got there. Once we complained they moved us to a different room which had stains all over the bathroom walls. Also, they claim to be pet friendly but then charged us an additional cleaning fee because of the pet. Seems like a scam, to be honest. I would not stay here if you have any other choice! Also, they claimed breakfast started at 6 but it was not even started until much later. When we asked the person on staff they kept telling us it'd be ready in 10 minutes. We were on the 5th floor. Fabric on the chair at the desk was peeling and coming off. Bathroom wall paper faded and worn in multiple spots where it was a totally different color. My husband and I stayed in early July of 23. We were doing a spur of the moment getaway to VA from Ohio. We really enjoyed this Hampton. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and gave us ideas on things to enjoy downtown. The cleaning staff was top notch. They were so friendly and we enjoyed seeing them in the hallways as everyone was cheery. The parking garage is directly beside the hotel with great prices. The hotel location is so perfect and adjacent to local breweries, restaurants and shopping. And directly across from one of the oldest farmers markets around! Stayed here for three nights and had great service from a friendly team, a clean and comfortable (and quiet) room and I used Hilton points so it was free! The location is very convenient to the highway and the airport, plenty of nearby restaurants. The free breakfast is typical Hampton Inn fare but it's good and filling. The gym is very large and well appointed and all the equipment is new. The pool looks nice but I didn't use it. All the staff I met were friendly. We decided to take a trip to Virginia and picked this place to stay for a night. Walking in it's very beautiful and looked clean. The front desk people were very nice and tried to be as helpful as they could. Rooms are nice, did a check after reading some comments and I didn't see a single bug or anything. Bathroom was nice and stocked and cleaned. So far it's a 5 star. But we noticed we had a Roku tv, so we thought we would be able to watch Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ etc. Then we realized there's no remote for it. So was very bummed about that. read more

Wow maybe the best Hampton Inn I visited this year. Hotel was very clean but that's not what makes this hotel stand out. It's the staff, everyone from the front desk to the folks running the breakfast were simply the best. In particular the gentleman who does the cleaning on the first floor was spectacular, I should have asked his name but I did not. I watched him interact with the guests and he was engaging and interested in making sure everyone was having a good experience. Came here as my sister's plus one for a wedding. The place was convenient and around a lot of chain restaurants and franchise. We were only there for a night so I didn't get to see much of anything except be my sister's babysitter. The breakfast that they served was pretty good and was pretty good. My favorite thing about going to these hotels are their waffle makers. My husband finally got me one when I complained about never getting to eat as many waffles as I would like when traveling. haha, anyways - the place was clean, had everything that we needed, water/toilet worked and baby-proof safe (well at least our room was. haha). Hi, so I just stayed in a room here, specifically room 313. The room was nice, but when I woke up and packed up all my things I found 3 dirty men's socks scattered around the room. There were no males in the room, it was only females, so it must have been left behind by a previous guest. It makes me question what else could have not been cleaned. They even put up stickers on the mirrors about how they make sure everything is sanitized since COVID-19 is still around. Other than the three men's socks, our stay was good. read more

We stayed here when returning home from Thanksgiving. I picked it partly because it was new, the price was right ($114 plus tax for a queen double) and I figured that we would be upgraded due to our Hilton Honors status. Turns out, I was right on all accounts. The hotel is relatively new, located near the Roanoke airport. Unlike some motels in airport areas, which can be fairly isolated, this one has decent access to a variety of nearby, mostly chain restaurants, gas stations and to shopping (there's a smallish mall nearby, with a Macy's, Belk's, Sears, JC Penney and such). We were upgraded to a nice king minisuite. Like nearly all Hamptons, this one is scrupulously clean, the staff is pleasant and the facilities, while not luxurious, are of high standard. The included breakfast is above average for a Hampton Inn, though that's not saying too much. The sat TV has a ton of channels. The king bed is comfy. The fitness room is much better than in most Hamptons -- it is large, with four or five treadmills, two recumbent bikes, a couple of elliptical machines, plus one weight machine and some free weights. If there's a disadvantage, it is that it's off I-581, 3 or 4 miles off the main I-81 route and a bit tricky to find even with a GPS. But for around $130 including tax, this is a nice place to stay if you need to overnight in Roanoke. read more

We stayed 2 separate times in this hotel (only because the second night was already booked and paid for). Neither time did we receive the handicap accessible queen suite we booked and paid for in advance. Neither time did we receive a refund or discount or anything to make up for this. Every person that went up to check in heard the same story "oh we don't have your room". I don't think I saw a single smooth check in at all. After taking an hour to check in the first time, I talked to the manager, Chris, and he assured us we would be good for the next stay (just a couple days later) as he had held our room. In fact, he told us if the room wasn't there for us we could "come in a blow the place us" (real professional there). Well guess what, that room wasn't there. We got put into a regular suite and when we saw it was not handicap accessible got moved into a handicap accessible room (not the suite we paid for). The woman at the front was unbelievably unprofessional. I believe her nametag showed Tinya but she told someone on the phone her name was Destiny (maybe it's a nickname?). She was throwing her hands up, ignoring people over the phone, talking to other customers about changing jobs and asking them how much they make in their job. At some point she said she just decided to put a $35 hold on customers credit cards instead of the $50 they're supposed to do, so clearly she doesn't follow the rules. Then when I asked about some sort of discount/refund she said she had no idea how to do that and said we could come back and just take anything from the Sweet Shop we wanted. Of course, we did not do this as we are not thieves. Days later, I noticed a $12.85 charge on my credit card. I called the hotel and got Chris again. He said that sometimes the system adds the tax to the card used for liability even though the rooms were already paid for through Expedia. He told me they are down to one computer (surprise) and he will fix it for me but not keep me on hold. Who knows if I'll ever get that money back The ONLY positive I have to say about this hotel is that it's beautiful. If they don't get a proper staff and system in there it will never last read more

New hotel. Been open about one year. Indoor pool, nice but only open 10 am - 10pm. On the other hand the fitness center was open 24/7, nice equipment, very clean. The room was fine, usual Hampton standard with plenty of electric outlets for all our needs. Of course, coffee always brewing - thank you Hampton! We will definitely return here. read more

Like the post it's on the bed frame. The computer lap desk was unexpected (see pictures) the hotel is within walking distance of the Mall but you should drive to see all the shops around there. I wanted to like this hotel, as I've enjoyed many Hampton Inns previously. Things didn't start well when none of the staff in the lobby were masked. I know it isn't required by VA law, but every other hotel we stayed at on our road trip had masked staff, so it was glaringly uncomfortable. Our first room had a horrific noise like a plane taking off whenever we turned on the A/C. The first night, I called down and explained it, and said we were still packed and happy to move if needed. Person at the front desk said we should just sleep there that night, and they would have maintenance up by noon the next day. At 12:30pm, we were leaving, and stopped by the front desk to follow up as no one had come by. The maintenance guy over heard, and said he knew exactly what was causing the noise, and he couldn't fix it while we were in the room, so we needed a new room. The wonderful woman at the front desk got us all set up with a new room, but by then we had unpacked, and so we had to repack, and move everything. The A/C in that room was fine, but the toilet made horrible sounds, plus the title was coming up all over the bathroom. We just sucked it up and dealt with it, as we didn't want to have to move again, but clearly this hotel is showing its' age. In general, everything else was fine, but definitely not what I have come to expect from Hampton Inn. read more

I was given an ADA room so everything was at low levels. Didn't bother me much but it might others. Breakfast was ok. Eggs were runny and ham was dry but they had other options to choose from along with grab bags of snacks, fruit, and water if you don't have time to sit and eat. The King Suites are spacious and the beds are comfy. Breakfast was standard fare. They could have used a few more yogurt flavored that day, but they had 3 egg options: hard boiled, scrambled & omelet minis. I thought about giving it only 4 stars because it is a Hampton, but, darn it, they earned all 5. read more

Nice new hotel. Breakfast is pretty good. Front desk staff not so good. Spent a few nights at this Hampton Inn. The room was nice, but the beds were hard. The breakfast was better than most hotels of the same caliber. They had the usual self-serve waffles with powdered eggs and sausage, cereal and yogurt. Unlike most hotel free breakfasts, they change up the menu from day to day, so it doesn't get old. I can't rate the maid service, since the maid skipped our room. Consequently, the beds were never made and the towels not replaced. It was disappointing to return to your room later in the day and find it the way we left it, but no big deal. The reason I gave this hotel two stars was not due to the maid service, but the front desk checkout, who refused to give me a receipt upon request and decided it was better to argue with me over it. I got my receipt, but left with such a dissatisfied feeling, that I vowed never to stay there again. read more

The housekeeping staff was accommodating and very friendly... the breakfast was the freshest and BEST I'd had in years!!! They actually came around and served the tables when they got some fresh bagel toppers...
