Friendly staff when we checked in. Room was clean and more updated than Hampton in Scranton. I like the fact they are dog friendly and put us on upper floors. Coffee offered 24/7

We stayed at the Hampton Inn Roanoke, VA. Our room was awesome! We had a double Queen Room with a gorgeous bathroom with tub and a great view. The breakfast was free and included and wonderful. Deacon enjoyed his Homemade Waffles with Butter, Syrup, Cool Whip and sprinkles with Apple Juice. I had a hard boiled egg with toasted onion bagel with cream cheese and orange juice Kayla had some sausage, Potatoes with an a Omelet with shredded Cheddar cheese and cranberry juice. They have a clean hotel with inside pool and fitness center. Definitely going back and highly recommend

"Fantastic stay at Hampton Inn on Roanoke Valley Boulevard! Outstanding customer service, spotlessly clean rooms, and spacious accommodations. Highly recommend!"

I stayed overnight for one night in December. I had a King suite, which was clean and spacious. I do think the hotel is taking great measures to mitigate risk during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The only issue I have is breakfast. One front desk attendant said it started at 6am, the other said it started at 7am. I had to leave at 7, so no breakfast for me. It would be nice if they had carry-out options before 7am like some Hampton Inns have.

If I could give this hotel zero stars I would. The place was filthy and I would never stay here again. We found a pair of socks just laying on the floor in plain sight. In addition there were large stains all over the comforter that made the room impossible to stay in. I sincerely doubt this room was even cleaned before we got there. Once we complained they moved us to a different room which had stains all over the bathroom walls. Also, they claim to be pet friendly but then charged us an additional cleaning fee because of the pet. Seems like a scam, to be honest. I would not stay here if you have any other choice! Also, they claimed breakfast started at 6 but it was not even started until much later. When we asked the person on staff they kept telling us it'd be ready in 10 minutes. Extremely poor communication from both the brand and the staff.

We were on the 5th floor. Fabric on the chair at the desk was peeling and coming off. Bathroom wall paper faded and worn in multiple spots where it was a totally different color. Ceiling had a crack that was visible and looked as if was not fully repaired. Not the same color as the other part of the ceiling. Dirt on wall. Over all pretty depressing room.

My husband and I stayed in early July of 23. We were doing a spur of the moment getaway to VA from Ohio. We really enjoyed this Hampton. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and gave us ideas on things to enjoy downtown. The cleaning staff was top notch. They were so friendly and we enjoyed seeing them in the hallways as everyone was cheery. The parking garage is directly beside the hotel with great prices. The hotel location is so perfect and adjacent to local breweries, restaurants and shopping. And directly across from one of the oldest farmers markets around! I would definitely stay here again. and suggest you do too.

Shiny and new Hampton Inn is far superior to the old crappy Hampton Inn on the other side of the airport. Stayed here for three nights and had great service from a friendly team, a clean and comfortable (and quiet) room and I used Hilton points so it was free! The location is very convenient to the highway and the airport, plenty of nearby restaurants. The free breakfast is typical Hampton Inn fare but it's good and filling. The gym is very large and well appointed and all the equipment is new. The pool looks nice but I didn't use it. All the staff I met were friendly. I liked this place a lot and will stay again next time I visit the Star City.

However, I should've compared rates, because the host hotel, hotel Roanoke, a historic and beautiful hotel, was surprisingly almost $100 cheaper than this location. Not sure how they could justify charging $269 for something that was decidedly a value hotel experience, is beyond me, but anyway. Check in was rough to say the least. I was on a multiple room reservation and the young lady. checking in Couldn't figure out how to take my credit card for one room and not release the reservations for the others, so I ended up having to put my card down for both rooms. Only to find out later that they charged me for one full night the next morning, even though I was told I would only be charged a $50 deposit!! When I went back downstairs to have it fixed, the young lady couldn't explain why the charge for one full night was applied to my card when we weren't even due to check out for another two days!!! So I would definitely advise checking your card upon leaving this hotel to make sure you were billed correctly, especially at the inflated rate. Overall, the hotel is fairly new and in pretty good condition. The rooms were suitable but could've been cleaned better. There was several areas, including the small sofa, and the bathroom counter. where long straight hair had been left or not properly cleaned. They do serve a decent continental buffet style breakfast and there is a Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts located in the parking lot, so I guess that's one advantage, but ultimately, I would likely look for somewhere else to stay the next time I visit.

All-in-all, this Hampton Inn & Suites didn't live up to the experiences I've had at other Hampton Inns. The property seems run down and grungy. I almost didn't want to sit on the sofa in our room. It was nasty. The walls were pretty thin as well. I heard conversations from both sides of your room. The location is excellent! You can walk to a number of restaurants and bars in downtown Roanoke. Everyone I talked to was friendly and helpful. I'll probably try somewhere else next time, though.

Staff was great...housekeeping, bar/restaurant staff, bell staff, valets...everyone was a true service professional. I loved the 1882 Bar and stopped there every night for a drink (see separate review). The convenience to downtown is also a plus. Although I did eat a couple of meals at the hotel, the skybridge to downtown makes access to more stores, restaurants and entertainment options very easy. Access from the highway is ridiculously simple and it's only 10 minutes to the airport. We will definitely stay here again.

I have stayed at lots of all inclusive resorts and this room was by far the prettiest and most comfortable. The attention to detail starting from the restaurant to the furniture boutique and upstairs to the hotel is amazing! We dined in the restaurant and had outstanding service from Caroline and the food was equally as outstanding. The menu is chock full of creative and interesting flavors and food combinations. We ordered 5 appetizers to share and loved every single one of them. Again, be open minded because this menu truly is creative. The furniture boutique has stunning pieces of Scandinavian/MCM style furniture all locally made in Roanoke with some serious attention to craftsmanship. These same items can be found upstairs in the boutique hotel. It was fun that you are allowed to have a glass of wine and chill in the lobby area next to the restaurant which is oh-so-comfortably decorated in their gorgeous furniture. I cannot begin to tell you how beautiful my room was. It was decorated so stylishly with absolutely not a touch of elegance overlooked. Stunning lighting fixtures, gorgeous textures, a comfortable sitting area, and lovely pieces of wooden furniture. The hardwood floors are simply to die for. They were my favorite part of the room. The bed was the single most comfortable bed I have ever stayed on in a hotel setting. It was like sleeping on a cloud surrounded in a hug from fairy wings. There is a communal area with snacks, couches and other places to gather or entertain a group. I really really really hope all future guests do their part to keep this place beautiful so that it remains a luxurious place to stay in the heart of downtown Roanoke. What an absolute gem. It feels like a betrayal to the amazing people who put their heart and soul into this hotel and restaurant to have a complaint. However, if I had one tiny suggestion to make, please put a table or a shelf or something in the bathroom. There is literally zero place to spread out toiletries and makeup. I used a towel on the floor to spread out my makeup in the morning. Not really a deal-breaker, but it's just a suggestion. And also to patrons, bring a hair dryer if you are going to use one. I did not find one in the room, but perhaps it was in a drawer or tucked away someplace I did not happen to see. Also, bring a sleep mask. This was definitely more on the light and bright side of hotel rooms, so morning came a bit earlier than I was expecting.

All the history and nostalgia in the building is palpable as soon as you walk in and take the beautiful wood spiral staircase to the second floor. There is an elevator also. Beautiful room with all the furniture from the Nordic furniture shop downstairs. Very tempting to buy a couch from the showroom downstairs! We ate at the restaurant, Stock downstairs. It was amazing, but keep in mind it is directly below room 6 and they don't close until around 11pm on the weekends and they stay about an hour after that to clean up. So you still may hear music and them moving chairs around while they clean up. We also stayed on a Friday night and some skateboarders decided to practice in the parking garage next door around 11:30 at night, but you are staying in the city so you have to expect things like that. Bathroom is beautiful with great water pressure in the shower. There is also a huge area to hang out in on the second floor if you need more space. If you like non-traditional hotel experiences, then add this one to your bucket list. 10-4!
