Well rooms were clean. The pool and hot tub where nice. Breakfast was good. Lots of options and hot food was actually hot. The best issue was we were supposed to have an acceptable suite. It was not, a grab bar in the shower yup that it. Since I dont really check to ensure it accessible. I first realized how tall the bathroom sink was when I brushed my teeth. Next was when I woke up at two a.m. the black out rod was high so in a wheelchair I could not close it. Last but the most disappointing at two a.m. I went to the bathroom imagine my surprise there was no grab bar for the toliet. I was stuck for a bit but finally positioned my chair so I could transfer. In a bathroom it could barely fit in. So all in all the hotel is fine. But don't go if you need an accessible room. read more

Just spent two nights here, and it has a lot of potential but missed a lot of marks. It's also one of the more expensive hotels in the area, but I don't understand how they justify that price. First, there was no one there when arrived to I check in - I had a long wait until I was able to find someone to help get someone to check in (and there were other guests waiting by that time then too). No recognition of Hilton Honors status. There was no working power available next to the bed. There's a table between the beds with built-in power outlets, but none of them worked, so I had to charge my phone on the other side of the room. Not the most fun when the alarm goes off in the morning and you've got to stumble around to get up for it. Shower water pressure was very low in the mornings. Pillows were terrible. Hot tub is broken - I was told "it's hot but the jets don't work" - but it also looked like no filtering was happening either as there were lots of tiny things floating in the water. I wasn't told about the every-other-day housekeeping. There was lots of noise from the hallway throughout the night. On the good side, I really love the waffles in the morning - especially getting to choose from two flavors. One was chocolate the second morning and that was fantastic. Wish the scrambled eggs were better. Checking out, I wasn't asked how my stay was - and she didn't even actually check me out of the room. I got an alert on my Hilton app that check out was coming up soon, but I had left an hour earlier. Hmpf. read more

I booked a room a month in advance at Homewood Suites in Munster, IN for my daughter's 5th birthday sleepover. The day of check-in, I got a call saying my room was canceled because of a "leak" -- even though I had a confirmed reservation and they had already sold out. I was sent to their sister hotel, Hampton Inn, instead. When I arrived, my room wasn't even ready, so I had to come back later while juggling birthday plans. In a rush, I signed their paperwork -- no one told me anything about a "no birthday party" policy. This wasn't a wild party -- just a few kids ages 2-5 swimming, eating, and celebrating. Later that evening, a staff member named Julie came upstairs, immediately upset, and told us we all had to leave over one noise complaint. I offered to buy another room to stay within their policy since my room had two queen beds and a pullout couch, but she refused and said she'd already called the police. The way Julie handled the situation was completely unprofessional and unnecessary. She didn't try to talk to me calmly, didn't give any warning, and made my 5-year-old cry on her birthday as police showed up -- all because a few little girls were laughing. Thankfully, the Munster police officers were kind and understanding, and even told me to contact corporate because of how wrong it was handled. We left and stayed at another hotel, where the staff was friendly and welcoming -- they even asked if the kids enjoyed the pool! Huge difference in how guests are treated. It's unacceptable for a hotel to treat paying customers, especially families with young children, this way. I hope corporate addresses how Julie handled this situation, because it was completely out of line. read more

I stayed here twice in one week, two separate stays, for work. SUPER clean. The bathroom was amazing! Comfy bed and nice linens. Very handy having a drug store right in the parking lot. Breakfast was good, well stocked, and kept clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. read more

I love this hotel. Whenever I want a getaway with my nieces and nephews to swim and relax, I always bring them here. The hotel staff are always pleasant and very helpful. This is a wonderful location because it's near many restaurants we enjoy. The hotel is kid-friendly, and every time the kids ask about a hotel, this is the one they choose. Life saver!!! We couldn't have been happier with our stay. It is right across the street from an emergency room but we weren't bother by the sirens once asleep. If you're a light sleeper it may be an issue. The front desk was amazing, room was clean, beds were comfortable, and we felt SAFE. Safety was our number one priority on this trip and we managed to find somewhere that provided that. read more

If I could I would give 0 stars. This hotel is by far the WORST hotel I've stayed in. When I first arrive with my family we were LOCKED OUT OF THE LOBBY! We waited with all our luggage and my infant child outside for about 15-20 until an employee finally came to open the door for us and other guest that were locked out. While waiting outside the lobby there was a paper taped in the locked door saying that the hotel was sold out and that any other guest trying to get in would need their room key. But how was I suppose to get a room key if I hadn't checked in?!? Finally, when the front desk employee checked us in the room that we had reserved in their website was not available. They argued that they didn't even have joint rooms! Why advertise them if they don't have them?! So here we are still waiting for rooms for all 5 of us when the front desk employee went to check if there were any rooms available. It wasn't sold out because there was about 5 rooms that were empty according to her. The problem was that we felt we should get charged for the other room but the employee didn't seem to care that they messed up our reservations and just told us to go ahead and stay there and no fee would be put in our credit card The following day I wake up to a BUG in the bed where my infant child and I slept in! I could believe it! A BUG WHERE MY INFANT CHILD WAS SLEEPING IN! I called my husband immediately and Told him we needed to get out of there. He was out running some errands before our event. I sent him a video and a picture to show the front desk employee. When he arrive and showed them they didn't care or offer any apologies! NOTHING. THE GM DRU IS USELESS. NO APOLOGY. I am not sure what is so great about Munster that commands such a premium price for a room. This place is not cheap. I recently stayed in a Holiday inn that was comparable for $30 less. But on the bright side, this Hampton Inn is just 1.5 miles from Three Floyd's brewpub and that is why I chose it. Location, location, location I guess. Maybe Munster is close enough to Chicago to command these prices. The room was clean and new looking. It was large with plenty of room to move around the kind size bed. The bed was comfy with plenty of pillows. There was a modern, decent sized TV with the usual channel selection. I was surprised to find a small fridge and microwave in the room. I have no need for such things, but I suppose it was nice if you did. I did not like the fact that I could hear the refrigeration compressor cycling. I eventually unplugged it. There was free Wi-Fi that worked fine on both my phone and my laptop. The bathroom was decently sized and clean. I must call out the fast and relatively quiet toilet. This is a nice detail when you are living in close quarters. There was a fair breakfast buffet provided. The hot items consisted of cheesy "omelets" and some gravy and biscuits. You could also make your own waffle, which has become a standard at these types of hotels. For cold selections, there was yogurt, cereal, fruit and a few pastries. There were several choices of juices and coffee. I was disappointed that I had to eat off of styrofoam plates and plastic forks, but my wife wanted me to note that they did claim to be Enviroware, by Disposo. I don't know if that really makes me feel any better. Speaking of food, I also wanted to mention that they put out cookies in the afternoon at the main desk. This little snack was welcome as were heading out to Three Floyd's and had to wait in line for an hour to get in. Overall, I have no complaints about the Hampton Inn in Munster beyond the price. It met my expectations and I enjoyed my stay. I would stay here if I was in the area again. read more

My Mom booked two rooms on the third floor for her and my stepdad and me and my girlfriend, during our visit for my grandfather's 88th birthday! The hotel itself is quite nice and tidy. The front desk 'people' are helpful, pleasant and patient. The location is quite ideal, as a White Castle is just down the road...an essential, religious experience. The true highlight for me is the hotel manager who shipped our belts we left behind via USPS with delivery confirmation. That is a rare type of customer service that goes beyond the norm in every way. read more

We didn't stay long enough to give this place much of a true review. We only slept here for the night. But it's a pretty standard Hampton set up with a very beautiful, clean, modern lobby. The beds were super comfy. We didn't use the meeting room, but it was a good size and clean. It would have been 5 stars except the sleeping rooms had a bit of an odd smell and the fitness center is very lacking (hey everybody can't get all 5 all the time right). But there is a Planet Fitness 9 mins away. The price was around $100/night. So all in all a great value. read more

The poor late night staff had to deal with our incredibly drunken wedding party but where else can you go in Munster at 11pm on a Saturday? Apparently nowhere! How were we supposed to know? I've become a fan of Hampton Inns. The price is always right and the rooms have always been clean. This location is no different. The king size room I had was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. I also like that they put a post it note on the bed board stating that everything is clean INCLUDING the comforter. Which is rare at most hotels. The staff was helpful and the free breakfast is perfect and gets the job done! I also appreciate the free cookies in the lobby. Got bitten by bed bugs and found live bugs in the bed. The staff refused to clean my suitcase, forcing me to throw it out so it didn't infect the rest of my home. This isn't the first review that mentions bed bugs, so be careful. read more

I'll start off by saying I travel ALOT for work. I always stay at Hilton Hotels, because that's where my job has me stay. Sometime I bring my wife & daughter with me. This particular Hilton hotel is by far my least favorite. The staff is absolutely deplorable, they are the most unprofessional people I have ever seen. They were extremely rude to my wife & daughter. It was mostly just 3 staff members, they should not be working in hospitality. My wife said they pick & choose who they want to be nice to. Harold, Kenji, & Elise are rude, unprofessional & act like they're in highschool. They are lazy, during breakfast and the dinner social guests have to frequently ask Elise to refill the food & drinks. I am constantly seeing them sitting down & watching TV. Harold is supposed to be the night manager?? He has the worst personality, whoever hired him must not care about the guests experience or how children are treated here. They flirt with guests, and gossip to guests about other guests & other employees!! I have never experienced such disgusting behavior. I sure hope the Hampton Inn next door is better because I will not be staying at the Homewood Suites again. And I travel to this area about 4-5 times a year! DON'T EVER STAY HERE!! read more

What a hellhole. They spray Febreze in every room and every hallway so if you are allergic to it, as am I, you get to have watery eyes, runny nose and a migraine for your stay. The sheets are scratchy, the beds are desperately uncomfortable. It's a glorified motel and as such they shouldn't be able to false advertise using the Hilton name. I'm certain you can find better accommodations elsewhere. What a pit. read more

The rooms are large and comfortable. I was disappointed that I heard so much from the other rooms . But I still slept well. I chose this for the location near a meeting. The complimentary breakfast was nice with a variety of rolls and waffles as well as fruits. I will return to the Hampton suites. Staff was very courteous and helpful. read more

We decided to get the heck outta town on a dreary Saturday in Chicago. Something began pulling us toward 3 Floyd's in Munster. We realized while sitting at 3 Floyd's it might be best to stay locally. We called the Hampton Inn and they had room for us at the Inn. It was kind of pricey, but super clean and the bed had nice linens, and was firm. I would not call the hot breakfast thoughtful, like another reviewer did. I'm not sure how they and other Hampton Inns come by the strangely textured scrambled egg balls, but I think they could really bump up the breakfast with real scrambled eggs and perhaps biscuits and gravy, or something good. Overall was an awesome overnight trip, and I don't mind if I do recommend trying it. read more

My stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites was the week of Christmas 2014. I enjoyed staying at this hotel very much. The room was perfect, very clean and maintained. I have never had such poor customer service and guest consideration as I had at my stay at Hampton Inn, Munster, IN. The manager Dru is more focused on revenue than customer service for a Hilton Honors member. Asking for a late checkout is not feasible as they state they cannot make that decision until the morning of check out ! Unheard of. Then, they want 50% of the day rate for late checkout for a couple hours! Worse, I asked again the night before and was told they didn't get a response from the manager. I said I'm going to bed as I need to get up at 5:30am - so they woke me up at 11:35PM to tell me I can't have a late checkout! Needless to say, I had trouble falling back asleep. That was poor judgement. The manager needs training on customer service. The hotel needs to be able to grant some people late checkout upon check in as I have been able to do at ALL other hotels and other Hilton properties. The person Maria calling 11:35PM to my room was rude and that was probably due to the manager who created that poor customer experience culture. 1) lack of customer service to tell me upon check in or a day in advance of late check out. 2) lack of ability to tell me the night before for late check out 3) lack of ability for customer service and consideration calling me at 11:35PM after I specifically called them at 10pm saying I was going to bed and leave a message at the front desk that I will pick up at 5:30AM. I was woken up and had trouble getting back to sleep! 4) Focus on revenues to charge 50% day rate to stay a couple hours and rudely saying I MUST check out by 11AM or they will charge me This location needs some help in training on proper HILTON CUSTOMER SERVICE or they will be losing future loyalty customers. read more

Munster Indiana is a waste of time including 3 Floyds.. Buy the beer at home and enjoy it in your own environment instead of coming to Munster. Bars are very sub par people are sub par might as well just go to Chicago and have a good time instead of wasting money in this town or at this hotel. My husband and I and our 4 children checked in on April 6th and checked out on April 8th. We got there right around check in time and were greeted by a wonderful, friendly lady at the front deck who quickly checked us in, and even gave the kiddos some coloring papers and crayons. The room was roomy and clean, no issues. We went to the pool/hot tub on all 3 days. The pool was chilly but not too chilly to enjoy and the hot tub was more of a hot tub then Jacuzzi, still very relaxing and enjoyable. We went to breakfast both mornings and it hit the spot both days. Saturday morning breakfast was French toast with turkey sausage and DIY waffles, Sunday morning was mini cheese omelets with turkey sausage and DIY waffles, along with muffins, fruit, yogurt and cereal on both days. Overall an extremely pleasant stay and if we are ever in the area again, we will definitely be back. read more

Terrible service, dirty bathroom. We had to stay there because it was close to the hospital where a family member was being treated. The room was not clean and the tub was very dirty. We had to run to the hospital and when we returned that evening we found housekeeping had never come. My husband called the front desk and was told they had no staff to clean the room. He then asked if we could at least get some clean towels and was told he would have to come down and get them himself because the woman who answered the desk phone was the only one on staff and could not leave her desk. Have stayed at Hampton inns many times, however for what we were charged, this is not a hotel we could ever recommend. read more

This hotel was a mile away from a family member's wedding reception so we were in town for two nights. I could not sleep either night; the first due to a crying baby. Yes, its not the hotel's fault, but our rooms shared an adjoining door. We changed rooms for the second night, but all the hotel doors automatically lock upon exit but with a temporary deadbolt extended apparently to protect against accidental locking. Even the staff use this deadbolt extension while changing out a room so the "thunking" sound is almost continuous. I can't remember a hotel stay that was so disruptive to sleeping. read more

The hotel is fairly new, the room was very clean, the staff was friendly, and the decor was extremely tasteful. However.. I've NEVER stayed at a hotel with a Hilton branding that EXCLUSIVELY uses paper goods/plastics in place of glasses, coffee cups, dishes and flatware! I nearly expected to find paper towels in the bathroom in place of towels! Recycling is one thing, but they seem to be adding to the garbage problem instead of helping it. The breakfast was continental which is not a problem, but the microwave omelettes felt out of place here. At check out, I decided to pay cash for my stay and later found that they also charged my credit card! How hard is it to cancel a credit card hold when the guest pays with cash?? It's four days later and I'm still waiting on the refund. read more

My wife and I checked into the Hampton Inn in Munster Indiana on Thursday, March 22,2018. Our room was very nice and clean. We woke up on Friday March 23, 2018 and went to breakfast. The hotel did not serve any meat on their hot bar excepted in the gravy. There was a sign stating there were no orange juice. A lady asked if there was any type of meat like bacon or sausage? The staff replied there is sausage in the gravy. During Friday night stay, there was loud noise and banging on the floor coming from the floor above. It lasted until 2:00am. Saturday morning, my wife and I went to breakfast. Again, there were no meat or orange juice. As I was checking out, I asked why there was not meat on the hot bar or orange juice. There was a staff person at the front that stated, I have told the management. The front desk clerk stated the hotel was waiting on a part to fixed the orange juice machine. I asked the clerk , why not go to the store and buy gallons of orange juice and serve it like you do you milk, in a pitcher? The clerk's reply was I'm sorry. On their front counter is a guarantee sign that states 100% satisfy. My question would be to the Hampton Inn management or what? Because even though the room was nice, the satisfaction stopped there. read more

I am the type to find the positive in everything but my recent experience necessitates that I do otherwise. In a nutshell, this hotel is experiencing a VERY serious ant infestation. My family and I stayed this past weekend as part of a wedding party. We had to be moved around and stayed in a total of THREE rooms (each time on a different floor of the hotel; proving how infested it is) due to the ants. I have appalling photos and videos of the infestation. I was breastfeeding my baby in the middle of the night and the ants were drawn to the milk. Yes, they crawled all over us. Imagine what that was like. To say I'm disgusted is an understatement. After some convincing (never should have even been necessary!) we were able to get comped for our 2 nights. I'm supposedly receiving a refund for the weekend in 3-5 days. But the issues are bigger than this. By the end of the weekend, our belongings were FULL of ants. A refund for this is NOT enough. It took us 3 hours to shake out every single belonging of ours (you come with a lot of things to be participate in a wedding). I have videos of dozens and dozens of ants falling out of each thing as we shook it. This includes my children's clothes, toys and shoes, etc. My daughters were in tears. We are back home now and have everything tied in plastic bags in the trunk of our car. I'm beyond furious to have to start the process of ensuring we didn't bring an infestation home. The front desk (with the exception of one sweet young man wearing glasses) was lackadaisical, and quite nonchalant about the entire ordeal. The manager, Carolina, declined to watch my videos or see the photos. This entire ordeal was a very disturbing experience for my kids and my husband and I will not stop talking about it until we are made whole for it. This weekend we've heard these quotes from your staff: "This hotel isn't like that", "We usually only have ants in the pool area" "We did a barrier spray and the ants were forced inside". Nobody was on the same page. But the truth lies with your housekeepers. They are well aware of the problem and told me that guests have been stopping them in the hallways left and right, to complain about the ants. I took the liberty of recording a conversation with one of the housekeepers where she told me about it at length. The staff KNOWS this has become a major issue and are taking minimal (at best) steps to rectifying it, while STILL allowing guests to come and go as normal. That is so wrong. There was a block of more than 10 rooms for this wedding and we are committed to ensuring this is handled properly. It was so disappointing for the bride and groom to have this take place. I'm new to posting on Yelp but sure hope you can post videos on here because seeing is believing! By the way, as I was reporting this to your front desk, there was a woman behind me waiting to report the SAME thing only she also mentioned spiders! So please don't act as if this is isolated.
