EDITED NOTE: Dr…read more Bovin sent me a personally written note apologizing and made the financial correction immediately. Last night I got a terrible tooth ache and called Dr. Bovin this morning. He immediately called something in and on his way out of town, he called me to see how I was doing and it was getting worse. He had me meet him at his office before he went out of town for the holidays. How many dentists do that??? Once the infection has cleared, I will be going back. Prior: (One star rating)I had been going to Dr Bovin for some time now. I had positive experiences until this last visit. Dr. Bovin promised me one price and told me I would not have to pay anything over what insured covered as it was a tooth he did prior work. Lo and behold, silly me did not get that in writing then I got charged and they threatened to send me to bill collector. I sent the money as I do not want anything negative on my credit report but I will never go to this place again!! The customer service I received while trying to work out a solution was horrible. I would call and they would say they would call me back, etc. Next thing I know, I get a threatening letter. So, now I am looking for a new dentist in the city. Anyone have any recommendations?

I have been going to Dr. Boivin for many years and have always had a good experience. Dr. Boivin…read moredoes great work and is very concerned about patients getting what they need and I have never felt like he was trying to talk me into work I didn't need; I have a heart problem and I feel safe going to Dr. Boivin in that respect too; the girls in the office are efficient and super friendly which makes the visit even more peasant; if you're looking for a dentist, of course I highly recommend him

I really dislike going to the dentist, but can honestly say that I'm a big fan of Francis Park…read moreDentistry. My first impression was speaking with Whitney who was friendly and patient with me. Upon arriving, the receptionists greeted me warmly and the office was clean and welcoming. (Parking is limited to a tiny lot or street parking, which I did not like, but there's not much they can do about that.) The technician who took me back for x-rays (Keya?) was INCREDIBLY nice to me which I really appreciated. I was very nervous and she was calm, gentle, and helped to make me feel more comfortable. I was so grateful for her. Then, the highlight of the entire visit: I met Dr. Margaree Lachowiez. I cannot recommend Dr. L enough. She made me feel incredibly safe in an environment that usually causes me a lot of anxiety. She is kind, knowledgeable, and charming. Beyond that, she really takes pride in her work and takes the time to do it right. After the dentist I'd seen all my life retired, I had a difficult time finding someone to replace him. I'm happy to say that now I have. Dr. Lachowiez will be my dentist from now on. Dental work is expensive, but they go over the entire breakdown of costs with you so there are no surprises. Everyone I met there was friendly and welcoming. I wish I could remember everyone's name, but I honestly have nothing negative to say about anyone there. The one mark against them: My husband had an appointment with Dr. L. and went in only to discover she is now at their other office, Ballwin Modern Dentistry (also a nice office). He said the dentist he saw instead was good, but was disappointed in the surprise switch up. Better communication in this matter would have been appreciated.

South St. Louis Dental Group - Where You're More Than Just a Smile…read more If you're not going to South St. Louis Dental Group, you are making a huge mistake--and your teeth probably know it. Let's start with Dr. Joern. The man is an absolute gem. Not only is he incredibly skilled and gentle, but he also remembers every single detail about my life--even when it's been months between visits. He doesn't just care about your teeth, he cares about you. It's like seeing an old friend who happens to have a DDS. And then there's Dawn, the Queen of Clean Teeth. I will wait as long as it takes for an opening with her. She's that good. She makes cleanings fly by with her kindness, humor, and freakishly gentle hands. If you're nervous about dental visits, Dawn will change your mind. The front desk staff? Angels. Literal angels. I've shown up on the wrong day (more than once, let's be honest), and instead of judgment, I get warm laughs and a magical "don't worry, we'll fit you in." Who does that anymore? They do. Oh--and shout-out to Rhea, who is the absolute go-to for tooth whitening. She made the process comfortable, effective, and honestly... kind of fun? My teeth looked amazing, and I left glowing. Bottom line: South St. Louis Dental Group isn't just the best dental office in the area--it's a place where you feel welcome, seen, and genuinely cared for. Amazing people, exceptional care, and the kind of place that makes you look forward to going to the dentist. (Yes, seriously.) Stop scrolling and make your appointment already. Your teeth--and your soul--will thank you.

I want to start by saying that my experiences with the dentist and dental hygienists at this office…read morehave always been excellent. Unfortunately, my interactions with the reception staff have consistently been the opposite--they often come across as rude, which has made me feel uncomfortable on multiple occasions. Back in October 2025, I had an appointment scheduled for a cavity filling. When I arrived, I was told it had been canceled and that I should have been notified. However, I never received any notice--aside from a text message sent an hour before my appointment reminding me to arrive. When I explained this, another receptionist, who was assisting someone else at the time, shouted across the room, "I CALLED YOU AND LEFT YOU A VOICEMAIL!" The tone was unnecessarily harsh and unprofessional. As I tried to reschedule, I also felt rushed into choosing a new date. This wasn't my first negative experience with the front desk, and it ultimately led me to switch dental offices that same month. I did attempt to share my concerns with management, but nothing seemed to improve. To make matters worse, when my records were supposed to be transferred to my new provider, the wrong records were sent. Today, I'm writing this review because I received a reminder text for an appointment on May 8th--despite no longer being a patient there and never scheduling such an appointment. I called the office to clarify and spoke with someone named Molly. When I explained the situation, she responded with a sarcastic tone and interrupted me as I tried to say I was no longer a patient. She then abruptly ended the call by saying, "Well, I'm sure someone else will be very grateful for this appointment. Thank you and take care." I'm genuinely unsure what prompted this pattern of dismissive and unprofessional behavior, but it has been consistently frustrating. While the clinical staff are wonderful, the front desk experience has caused unnecessary stress and ultimately drove me to seek care elsewhere.
