ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!
Stopped in for lunch with my partner. The service staff (Ellen, I believe her name was) was quite short when taking our order. She said at the café counter that I couldn't pay on eftpos there and would need to pay at the bar, but if I could pay on paywave that she could go take care of the payment for me and bring back my card and receipt. When she did come back with my card and receipt she informed us that the food we ordered was unavailable but that we'd already paid. I had ordered a veggie burger which they didn't have any of and she said they had no other vegetarian options really, though could do a salad sandwich.
The sandwich was extremely poor - slimy wilting salad on a stale bun (and it still cost me the same amount as the veggie burger I couldn't get but had already paid for. No partial refund or anything else offered to compensate)
My partner ordered grilled barramundi but it came out battered and wasn't even cooked properly (no communication or apologies).
When my partner asked Ellen if we could speak with the owner or manager she told us the manager, Karen, wasn't in but if we had issues, we could come by/call later. I called approximately half an hour after we left once I returned home and a guy named Scott answered the phone. He said he was the owner and had been in all day, and he did not seem concerned at all about the poor service and poor food we received or that Ellen had lied about the owner/manager not being there. He just asked abruptly and rudely "Yeah well what do you want me to do about it?" and then hung up on me.
I have never received such horrible service in my life and have never paid so much for such horrible food. Blackheath, Mount Victoria, Hartley, Lithgow, Oberon and the Jenolan Caves are all within a 30 minute drive from Hampton. I would suggest driving an extra 30 minutes at least and going anywhere but here. read more
