Hampton Hotels are pitched at the same market as a Holiday Inn Express or Premier Inn. It's affordable (around £59 a night) and comfortable. I stayed here for two nights and enjoyed it. You get a nice room with a comfy double bed, flat screen TV, small desk and chair, L shaped corner sofa and a nice bathroom with a large shower (big enough for two). The staff were really friendly and helpful too.
Breakfast was a buffet of hot foods and the usual toast, cereal and yoghurts. And there was also late night bar for those drinks after work. But expect to pay hotel prices.
Nearby there's a Dominoes pizza, Greggs and Subway, if you're peckish, or a Wetherspoons next door for more meal options.
Overall I enjoyed my stay there, although the whole hotel had the Air Con on a bit too low for my liking (some rooms were centrally controlled).
It's a lovely place to stay if you're in town for work, and would even make a good place to stay if you're out for day trips. But the lack of other local amenities makes it less ideal for more relaxed stays. read more
