    Hampton beach 4tn of July

I had a bad experience Today at Hampton beach. The day went great and was having the best time but when it hit later in the way to get dressed and clean up we went to the bathrooms and they were closed at 615 one of the works there said they were closed at 530 but if there is a line still at 615 wouldn't you think you would keep it open on the 4th of July. Even when we went to the desk to file a complaint about it the worker at the desk said she was going to get the worker to reopen them but they didn't for a while and there was one porta potty . But even the family stalls there were two big lines coming from those bathrooms and then they tell us oh it's closed everyone has to go to the regular bathroom and wait in a line that is really long which is crazy. They need to do something about this it shouldn't happen. I have a picture that shows how many people were there and they shouldn't have only one bathroom open like this.

Love this beach. Clean, big, and no rocks. Great boardwalk with lots to do, and while it gets crowded the strolling area is large enough. Sand is soft and while the water is cold--it's NH so, duh. You get used to it. The people watching is great as well. Just love this beach and boardwalk. It's awesome.

Beautiful beach! It's south of town and much more family friendly. There is plenty of space, decent bathrooms and a snack shop with basics for a day at the beach! On busy days it's a good idea to get there early. Lots of kids, we'll be back next summer.

Hampton Beach is what it is. It is a great spot to cool off and have plenty of fun just over the border from Massachusetts. It is not yet built up and it is extremely affordable. Hence the masses that flock on major holidays. It is very well run and generally kept spotlessly clean. The police are very serious and get the job done. The best attraction is the beach which includes expansive sand, legendary cold water (it's really not that bad most of the time, but when the cold water comes in Holy Ice Cubes), and perfect waves for Boogie Boarding as the tide comes in. In fact, there is no better beach for Boogie Boarding. The beach is also beautiful. Take the time to get there early, stay late or visit off season or during the week when it is pretty much empty. The cast of characters on the beach on a given day varies greatly and those who complained that they smelled weed were right in the description and wrong in the sentiment. The beach is huge and windy, there are areas contextually secluded and areas more family friendly - go with the flow.

Beautiful wide open beach with plenty of parking. Just as gorgeous in the off season as during the height of summer. The crew does an amazing job of keeping it clean year round.

Really Large Beach. Huge shore line. Parking is done similar to a parking meter- it may feel free but it's not! However this is lots of parking. Good waves, but the water is FREEZING! Kids playground! Lots of cool shops/spots/restaurants along the shore! Lots of cool little Knick back tourists shops, t-shirt places, a mini golf spot, & a few cool "old school" style arcades! Definitely a good spot to visit with kids. I usually come around 1-5x

I fell in love with the beaches in New Hampshire. Granted, I love beaches! But, this beach in particular was amazing. First like every beach... sand, sun, breeze, water and fun! What makes Hampton Beach so special, though, is almost the carnival style environment it has. The boardwalk area has a lot of stores to go thru, there's an arcade, there tons of restaurants and places to eat nearby! The people are very friendly! One of my regrets is that I spent so little time here! I didn't know it would be this cool and so much fun. Hampton Beach is now in my list of places to return and focus on... maybe have a nice relaxing few days at the beach one day in the future. If you have not come here or visited NH at all, you really should consider it!

I loved this beach, my uncle used to bring me here all the time. Brought here by 2 different races, it was very nostalgic. There's plenty of parking lots (charged) for cars and in walking distance to the beach. The beach is very beautiful and warm. If you get hungry, there's plenty of restaurants along the beach as well. Also, on the day of the race, there were outdoor merchants and promoters.

Hampton beach is my Shangri La ............"and that's all I'll say about that ". When I'm at Hampton Beach it's 1985 and I'm 17 again, and the summer isn't going to end!

Hampton Beach, thanks for letting me park myself on your sandy beaches for the past 3 days on my own. When we first drove up on Sat, I was overwhelmed by the amount of people and umbrellas that dotted what seemed like every inch of you. It has been a long time since I have been to the Jersey Shore where that was the norm. But once the weekdays rolled around and most schools are back in session, it was pleasantly calmer. I like throwing my towel down in front of the Ashworth, then go for a stroll to either end or both to wet my feet, before plopping down for a little roti tanning action for an hour or two. Water is a bit colder than what I am used to but feels nice when the beach heats up. Because of the boardwalk, it does have something for everyone from a casino for the adults to multiple arcades and a Funarama for kids and those of us who are still young at heart. I grew fond of Hampton Beach and will miss seeing you first thing tomorrow morning.

While currently staying at out beach house in Hampton just a few blocks from here, we decided to check out all of the sand sculptures that were built as this part of the beach. Not too many of them, but definitely worth seeing. We came just before a giant thunderstorm rolled through...correct timing. The sand sculptures were interesting to look at. It was still early on a weekday so there weren't as many people there and parking was easy to find. I'm sad that I have to leave this weekend but there is always next summer!

Definitely a cool stop if you are on vacation in New England. Has that beach board walk stereotypical vibe restaurants and stores all over the place and you can pretty much drink everywhere. The beach is beautiful and street performers are all over. Definitely a cool spot for a weekend get away or day trip

The state of NH has put a lot of money into updating the buildings at Hampton Beach! - There are new bathrooms on the South and North end with outdoor cold showers for rinsing off. - There are new parking spots for motorcycles but bring something to rest your kickstand on as the pavement is so hot the stands are melting and sinking into the ground. - You pay for street parking at various stations according to your spot number. For the day it costs more than parking at one of the lots but it works if you want to pull up for a few hours of sun and fun. - The new main bath house is up and running but still is being worked on. Right now there are no showers but I hope they put some in. - The bathrooms have warm running hand wash sinks. There is liquid soap but you need to squat down low to see the "very little" stem underneath the running water. Most people don't know it is there as there is only one and it is hidden (speaking for the girls rooms). - There are mainly bathrooms, no changing rooms. - They discourage washing your feet in the sinks...go figure. - There are real mirrors now. Not the plastic circus mirrors they use to have that made you look either tall and skinny or short and fat. - The grandstand is still being worked on to be finished in the fall. - New Street signs making it easier to see "Street A" on down the line At the far south end at what I call the actual State Park end, the cost is $15 to park. There are spots for campers to set up, a little store, covered picnic tables and bath house. There are life guards dotting the shore line from end to end and of course the water is cold. We went a few times and it ranged from mid 60's which felt warm down to 55 that gave you that quick fast bite when your foot hit the wave. If you park on the North end before C street you can loop around to take Brown Street making it a tad bit quicker to get to 95. Otherwise you can cruise and people watch as folks go in and out of the various shops. There are signs for new condo going up. With all of the recent renovations and new buildings coming I'd figure the older ones may be investing in upgrades and face lifts soon.

The park is located along the Atlantic seacoast in Rye, not far from Portsmouth. The area is the site of the Pannaway Plantation: the first European settlement in New Hampshire. Settled in 1622, the plantation was completely abandoned by the 1630s when the settlers moved to nearby Strawberry Banke. The land was settled in the mid-1660s by the Odiorne Family, whom the park is now named after. From 1942 to 1947, the park was the home of Fort Dearborn. The ruins of the deactivated World War II-era fort can still be seen today. Today the park is home to hiking trails, bike paths, a playground, picnic areas, pavilions, and a Seacoast Science Center which opened in 1992. My family and I visited Odiorne Point State Park this summer while we were heading to Maine for a summer getaway. We had some time to kill before we could check in to our AirBnb, so we decided to stop at the park. We had fun exploring the grounds and my two sons especially enjoyed playing on the nautical-themed playground. The highlight of the park is the Seacoast Science Center. There are all sorts of exhibits devoted to the conservation of marine and coastal environments. My two sons loved learning about whales, local shellfish populations, the local fishing industry, the fight against ocean pollution, and underwater exploration. There was even a cool gift shop where we picked up a few things. Whether you live in the area or you're just passing through like us, Odiorne Point State Park is a fun place for the whole family!

There's something for everyone. What I'm reviewing is how a spot compares to similar outdoor spots in my personal opinion. Being in nature - and remembering to carry in, carry out - is always five stars! :) Parking? Yes. Loop trail? Yes. Well marked signs? Yes. Element of surprise? Yes. I was looking for state parks in New Hampshire and this one caught my eye because of the name, if we're being honest. It sounded magical! So was the way it was advertised: "picnickers can enjoy sweeping views of the ocean and rocky shore, and explorers can uncover evidence of past military occupation. An extensive network of trails wind through the dense vegetation and traverse the park. [t]he property is also renowned for its... seven distinct habitats that can be visited within an hour's walk. Although the spectacular rocky shore is the one of the most notable, the woodlands, uplands, salt marsh, freshwater and salt ponds, and sandy beach (non-swimming) combine to create one of the region's most diverse nature walks." I like a little bit of everything, and this sounded like it had just that! The first time I came I bought a pass online; when we arrived it was a freak snowstorm and we were the only ones there. So we had a literal winter wonderland to play around it. The views from the coast were lovely and offer plenty of picnic tables to sit and enjoy yourself at, but exploring the woods that day was even more amazing - we spent a lot of time with a big buck who kept finding himself lazily meandering on the same trail as us. Thank goodness for binoculars! And the element of surprise! There was also some tremendously graffitied old batteries, a breakwater (that becomes nearly inaccessible when the tide is high; reversely when the tide is low that same area exposes a Sandy beach), there's an area called Pirate's Cove, an old cemetery, and Dolphin Fountain (which looks like it belongs in France, not NH). This became an immediate favorite! I can't wait to come back and see it in Spring and Summer! (SIDE NOTE: There's also the Seacoast Science Center, a 501(c)3 non-profit, that provides educational exhibits related to the seacoast area for a separate fee; but, I haven't been able to check that out yet!)
