Wow! This place was bumping on a Friday night…read more I took a seat at the bar seeking dinner and a beverage after a very long drive to Millinocket. After catching someone's eye, I had a menu in hand and a drink order on the docket. The speed with which these hard-working women were moving behind the bar and out to all the tables in this cozy bar & grill was nothing short of amazing. As with most places these days, it sounded like there may have been some call outs/short staffing but had I not overheard I may not have known the difference. I settled in and after a short time, I had a Guinness and a pulled pork sandwich in front of me. The pulled pork was very tasty and came on a giant ciabatta roll. A small bag of Lays potato chips accompanied the plate as well as a pickle spear. A good dining option before entering Baxter State Park or if you are staying at Big Moose. Live music (a duo), intimate atmosphere, good food, decent pricing.

She walked off so quickly. Usually there's "your server will be with you.". Food was fine. Server was okay, seemed to be extremely busy running around. After 5 visits to Sawmill, I can confidently tell you food will not disappoint and the service is unmatched. Staff is super friendly and the vibe in there is incredibly low key and relaxing. Everyone in our party's food was great. It was super busy in there and I can see why. Great place to have events as well. I got the baked haddock but it came much later than my sister and mother's meals. They were almost done by the time I got the haddock (which looked funny solo on a large plate-the rice came out well before the haddock). The atmosphere included young children playing and screaming behind us, which made it challenging to hear each other as we tried to catch up. Sounded like they had some fun, though. The lava cake was a delicious ending.

I've not explored this area so was pleasantly surprised to see more then a convenience store. The place has ample parking and clear signage. Meet our group outside and were escorted to our table quickly. We were set up in a back room with a table set up for the 12 of us. Once all settled in our drink order was taken and specials explained. Lots a talking and catching up. Drinks arrived in a timely manner and then food orders given. I ordered the Fish tacos with a salad instead of fries. Hubby has the bacon cheese burger, and son had shrimp scampi and Bang Bang Shrimp. Food came out hot and delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal. No room for dessert so we finished our food, got to-go boxes and out to the fire pit area for continued conversations. Definitely enjoyed our time here and would come back if invited again.
