Not only was Mike's estimate the lowest; he included stump grinding, which others did not. He was also very friendly and helpful in assessing which trees were diseased and which could be treated (in the spring). His office gave me a date about a week in advance, and the crew showed up on time and got to work. They accomplished a large amount in a single day, and they were courteous and friendly. Most importantly, they did an incredible job cleaning up. Not only did they clean the areas where they had taken down the trees; it was early December and they did a cleanup of leaves in most of the yard, so that I didn't have to do the end-of-season yardwork that I was planning on doing!

I had no time to take care of the mess while moving to and organizing the new home. Let alone some stranger knocking on my door. An elderly chap with a wife in their car, I had to lend an ear and forget about the pending tax return. I don't often ask anything except do you have a town permit to solicit door to door, but I had an urge to talk. Then came the real reason he was here...the tree damage. we walked around the yard talked about what I knew had to be taken care of and a bit more. I was given a verbal price that I could not have beaten anywhere on the Cape. I agreed, we shook hands and he made a call. It was about 2PM and I was told they would be here this afternoon. Oh, yea I wondered what was next. Well, he left and about 15 minutes later a caller told me the team would be arriving about 4PM...AND THEY DID. 3 guys with an 85 foot boom truck which would be of no use for the project. OK, the 3 dawned on climbing gear and trees came down. Then a bobcat arrived on scene. Another 10 minutes and a log chipper was in front of my house. Work force was now up to 5 plus a supervisor and by 7PM everything was done! The work I had shook hands on, an additional pile of branches, the entire house frontage the the roadway in front of the house and the driveway were all cleaned. Everyone was gone when Dale rang the door bell, I paid the agreed upon price, had a nice talk with Dale and his wife. A couple of other tree problems that might need some professional attention were pointed out and a promise to return when called. Another hand shake and we departed each with friendly smiles and seance of a job well done, well above my expectations!

In today's fast paced, get-it-now, tip jar for everything world, true customer service seems as if…read moreit's a thing of the past. However, every now and then you come across a business that truly believes in the motto "the customer comes first". This has been my experience with Briggs Landscaping as they have consistently exceeded my loftiest expectations. Briggs did an extensive overhaul of our front yard. The work involved clearing and grading the yard, hauling, dumping and spreading loam, building a flower bed and laying sod. The quote they provided was the best of three estimates provided. Due to an unbelievably wet and cold April, they got behind in their schedule, however Diane (Office Manager) constantly communicated with me on a weekly basis. She was absolutely fantastic. During the week leading up to the work, she provided me perfect details which allowed proper coordination with my irrigation guy. When the work started, the team was prompt, pleasant and professional; great guys! However, the work hit a major snag when they discovered a major root system under a large, grounded, pine tree stump...they were forced to bring in more heavy equipment and the two day job turned into a much larger project to get rid of the huge roots. They constantly communicated the game plan and in the end, the yard and flower beds looked so beautiful. We got the invoice today and even though they probably spent a dozen or more man hours removing the huge pine roots, they honored their cost listed in their original estimate! I will never use another landscape company other than Briggs! They do all the thoughtful touches that make them great. They carefully removed and saves all perennials for us to use elsewhere, they transplanted an Azalea bush...they even put loam and grass seed around some bare spots in the backyard! The perfect landscape company...scratch that...the perfect company!!! Thank you Briggs...clearly customer service is alive and well with you. You have earned me as a faithful customer for life!

Akim contacted me, stopped by and gave me a quote that was less than two others i had investigated and was able to do it on the spot! He climbed onto the roof with his leaf blower (yes, about 10-minutes of noise), then ran a hose to clean out the mud and left over debris to make sure everything drained properly, cleaned off the porch (another couple of minutes of noise) and bingo - done! They are based in Harwich but have numerous clients in Wellfleet and environs. Friendly, efficient, no hard sells.
