Didn't know the area well and he did not take pictures at certain spots. The train of the gown was not fixed, no instruction on posing. If someone had their legs crooked and jacket not buttoned, he didn't correct it. Very eager to go to the reception. Didn't even get a picture in front of the Chapel! At the reception, barely any pictures of the bride and groom candid. The cutting of the cake blurry and taken from a corner where you can't see the bride. Barely any pictures of bride and groom first dance. Pictures at the alter were strictly from one side and the bride's face is not visible. Unfortunately the academy does not have many photographers on their list to chose from. Did mention to the photographer and said that it should have been expressed. I am not the photographer, I paid you to take pictures of the wedding. read more

Hiring Mark and his team to capture our Naval Academy wedding was one of the best decisions we could have made! I've known several brides that have gotten married at the Naval Academy and each one has raved about his work! He was incredibly helpful in the planning, extremely efficient in keeping us on schedule that day and coordinating our massive family! Everything ran like a well oiled machine! And my husband, who is not a fan of being in front of the camera, even enjoyed working with him. One of our guests was a professional wedding photographer and has commented that usually when she goes to weddings and sees the pictures after she always finds things that she would have done differently, but in her professional opinion she said Mark did everything the way she would have and was incredibly impressed. Mark and his team were able to capture our day just perfectly. Each and every one of our photos are fantastic. So much so that we are having a hard time narrowing down photos to include in our album! Leading up to "the big day" Hamilton made everything stress free and the actual wedding day, there are hardly words to describe how easy they made everything. HORRIBLE. Long story, short - - Never trust the aesthetic of a woman who thinks its okay to have a bleached YELLOW mustache. No wonder her husband was hitting on the bridesmaids (and drinking at the reception ???). What's the point of getting married in a beautiful church and then have the bulk of your photos not capturing that beauty "because of the lighting". Why did I hire a professional photographer if you can't correct simple lighting issues. The candid shots our family and guests caught with the disposable cameras were better than what we paid for from Hamilton Photography. Complete disappointment that was made worse by Christina's attitude when exchanging emails / phone calls regarding our final proofs. Unprofessional and a poor product. read more

Overall, not a great experience. Our photographer was extremely nice, personable and easy to communicate with. The photo-shoot was mostly predictable, with very little candid shots as requested. It was somewhat frustrating to be instructed to pose - often the same pose across multiple settings. A link to low-res image/proofs arrived in email nearly three weeks after weeding. When I called the staff to inquire about water-mark on images provided, I was met by a less than warm member of the team and informed that high-res images would arrive in the mail - in another six-plus weeks. Though, she continued, I could purchase high-res images online - with no water-mark. Sadly, not a great experience, and frustrating when companies like this have disconnected and outdated policies and practices. read more

I didn't really have anything to compare my Wedding experience with Hamilton Photography to until moving back to the area and hiring a photographer for maternity and newborn shots. It's been a few years and I still have not printed 1 portrait from my wedding, because I get sad about the money lost every time I go through to pick one to print. I was in love with a friend's pictures shot by Hamilton and went with the company without doing much research because we were coming from out of state for the wedding and I couldn't personally meet with people. What I didn't understand was the "eye" one photographer of the Hamiltons had over the other. I got the husband while my friend had the wife of Hamilton Photography, perhaps she capture more tender moments and had more suggestions for the bride. I will say the husband's assistant male photographer at our wedding was wonderful. I did not receive many candid shots, I felt everything was overly posed, and was not happy with finished product, I don't even have one picture of my entire family. Here lies the problem- my photographer for my maternity shot realized I had never been pregnant before, never planned for anything like this and she went out of her way to make suggestions or tell me what would look nice because I was paying her...someone who has taken 1000s of maternity pictures to be the professional. This company on my wedding day took the approach that if I didn't ask for it, I wasn't getting it, when I didn't even know what to ask for. Overall our pictures seemed like a corporate headshot photo shoot. Feel free to message me for photo examples of my discontentment- needless to say none of our pictures are featured anywhere in their advertising. Remember quantity is not better than quality when looking at your packages and choices. read more

I have enjoyed working with Hamilton Photography. Not only are their pictures creative and beautiful they maintained a level of professionalism during my wedding day that can't compare. She was able to manage both mine and my husbands family with grace and charm and captured happy moments and happy tears. Even with the glitch with the limo arrangement Christina went straight into action and still managed to take us into town for the photos that were important to us. Hamilton Photography just took pictures for my son's wedding and the pictures are stunning!!! Just go to their Facebook page to see their photos. Mark put together a schedule to capture all the key moments of the day that included shots I hadn't even thought to consider. Mark and Christine kept all the various shoots on schedule such that the wedding even started 2 minutes early! We just received all of the photos and everyone who has seen them is amazed at how beautiful they are. The pictures include a nice mix of posed and candid pictures before the wedding and at the reception. They knew all the best water settings in Annapolis and buildings at the Naval Academy to capture all the most beautiful pictures. They turned around the photos extremely quickly. We had them within 10 days after the wedding. Mark even remembered the special group shots that I had wanted during the reception and came to find me to remind me. I read these other Yelp reviews and am completely baffled as I only had professional service and absolutely stunning wedding pictures. read more
