The staff were very informative, kind and upfront with me about the cost with or without services but more importantly I felt the care and commitment from the Dr right away. He assured me he would review and give me his best professional advice even if it wasn't something he was able to correct or repair as in save a tooth that a crown replacement caused some pain. Unfortunately the root was cracked so a re-treat of a root was not possible and it will eventually need to be extracted. Not super excited because before the crown was replaced it never hurt but during the install of the first crown there were issues so it was most likely just destined to eventually fail. This place is a rip off! So I went there to get my root canal treatment, they told me the treatment was 300 something after they ran my insurance, I agreed to pay that amount, then right before they start the treatment they came back with different payment that i have to pay because of an infection once again i agreed to pay that amount.Everything was fine until today- a year later I got a letter from collector say that still owned 224 from that treatment which I don't understand how? Because they already told me what I needed to pay & I already did! This is just ridiculous to me so I hope anyone if you ever decide to do business with them be aware, this place is a scam & I will report them to the better business bureau! read more

Make sure you get the codes from Hamilton Mill Endo, and call your primary dental insurance to get the true cost. Print out the results and keep a copy for yourself. Then show the front office what you actually owe out-of-pocket. Otherwise, you may have to fork out money that you don't have that the insurance would have covered. It takes a while to get the refund since it's handled by another company. I bet the doctors are amazing, but I couldn't handle the behavior of the front office staff. Do this with every dentist, doctor, and endo that requires money up front. read more

From the time I called this morning for a last minute appointment to the time I walked out after getting my root canal it was nothing but great service. They were able to get me in same day with no hesitation. I am also pregnant and they treated me with care and made sure I have every clearance before doing any work on me. I went yesterday to have a root canal. I have had horrible experiences with dental procedures in the past so I was nervous going in. This was a positive experience from start to finish. Liz was patient with me, explaining the process and letting me know step by step what would be happening. I mentioned I was nervous about the root canal and she provided a stress ball to help me. I went to this office twice because I needed two root canals. Yes, I said two root canals. From the moment I walked in each time was very relaxing and as nervous as I was they made me feel very comfortable. Dr Shaun Bullard was the absolute best. He took his time with me because I had a lot of infection and it took me awhile for the medicine to work. Even though he probably got tired of me because i kept jumping!!! Lol! He was great!!!! Their website showed pictures of a warm and inviting environment and the reviews were good. This was also an emergency situation because of an infection. My son had trauma to his 2 front teeth which had braces on them. As mom, I was very nervous and wanted to know more about why he needed 2 root canals. The consultation cost me $350. That was for them to tell me the same thing his dentist told me. They literally took x-rays and that was it. When the doctor came in, you could tell that he was in a hurry and did not want to sit there and answer my questions. His attitude was "yeah yeah yeah...I do this all day...blah blah blah". There was almost NO compassion for either my son or myself. My son wanted to be put to sleep during the procedure and the dentist definelty did not want to talk about anything having to do with that procedure. Instead, I had to wait until the day of the procedure to get my questions answered. That is when I found out my son was not supposed to have any food or liquid before the procedure. He had drank some water 2 hours before so we had to sit around for 2 hours before he could have the procedure done. And I can say that the only person in that entire office that showed any care, concern, and compassion was the anesthesiologist. While my son was being given the anesthesia through his IV, the hygienist, who never even introduced herself to me or my son, started shoving stuff in his mouth! I had to ask her to wait until he went under. The anesthesia was kicking in and THE HYGENEIST WAS SHOVING A HUGE THING IN HIS MOUTH TO PROP IT OPEN!. She could have told him that she was going to be doing that so he would have been prepared. This was the first time my son ever experienced being put to sleep and no one cared! Except the anesthesiologist. There was no interaction between my son and the hygienists. I did not even get to talk to the doctor before I was sent back to the waiting room. I could not hold my tears back and had to go to the bathroom and cry. I also did not receive any after treatment information. They rolled him out to the car and said "see ya" I DO NOT recommend this place. Don't let the picures on their website fool you! They are NOT warm and inviting. read more

Does anyone ever want to go to an endodontist? Let's face it, if you are making an appointment with one, you HAVE to go. You are probably in some pain and the visit is urgent. I just have to thank the entire office at the Hamilton Mill Endodontics office! My elderly father was having some tooth pain, so our dentist referred us to this office. From the first visit for a consultation, Dr. Pugh was exceptionally caring of my father. He spoke clearly and explained the things my dad needed in a way that my dad felt respected, but also he felt as though they were giving him special treatment. Dr. Pugh's assistants were extremely efficient, and they were kind in how they cared for my dad. The entire procedure took about 20 minutes and my dad was so happy. This practice is doing everything right. But the way Dr. Pugh, Chelsea and everyone treated my dad- that really made an impression on me. Very intentional customer care in my humble opinion. I was referred to this group's Athens office by my dentist to have root canal work done. I made them aware the reason I was choosing them was because I required sedation due to my anxiety before I even booked a consultation. My consultation appointment was set for 9/10/18 in the Hamilton Mill office because this is the only location to offer the sedation I need. Never once until today 10/8/18 was I told they only offer 1 to 2 sedation appointments monthly. Had I known this very important fact I would have known right away this was not the office for me. They tried to get me to do my root canals on 9/28/18, but I had no one to drive me and let them know then this was not an option. She assured me she would let me know by week's end what the available date would be. That time frame came and went as did countless others with me calling one to two times weekly to see when they could take me. In every conversation I've had I've expressed how much discomfort I'm in and their response is well then go pull your teeth or find someone else. Hey thanks for the advice...I'll make sure to ruin my smile and force myself into dentures because you don't feel the need to inform me the real reason you have not booked me yet is because you don't even know when your one appointment date will be for October though we are indeed 1/2 way through the month or I can run out and spend more of my hard earned money to find another Dr because you can't get it together. This last Thursday one of my teeth waiting for the root canals finally broke off. As soon as this happened I called to let them know however Kristen the young lady I have been dealing with was not in so again their was no offer to help. I was told to wait till she gets back to me (there is a lot of waiting with them if you need the sedation services they advertise). It was then I was like I have no choice but to indeed look elsewhere to get this work done. Today I called to explain how completely unethical it was for them to book a consultation without informing me up front they only had 1 appointment date for sedation available and she basically was like tough luck lady. Their lack of ownership in what they did is appalling. Dentistry is so expensive to begin with you have an obligation to inform your patients with your practice's policies prior to any appointments so as the patient we can make sure the money we are investing is well spent. They are the picture perfect example of money hungry dentists who line thief pockets while we struggle pay 2k-3k a tooth. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left each person I dealt with from admin to hygienist to dr. They were great.

I went to this practice because of the many great reviews they have received. I had a terrible experience here, nothing at all like their reviews! I went to them in hopes that they could retreat a bad root canal which I understand is not their fault. I was met with a very inexperienced dental staff from the hygienists to the doctor. It was clear at my first appointment that I was being rushed as they were not very informative and were literally sticking things in my mouth as I was trying to ask them questions, the hygienist even got visibly and audibly frustrated because she broke the dental dam and then left the dam in the entire time I was waiting to get numb (10-15 mins). The doctor wasn't much better. He glassed over my symptoms, didn't really have any good explanations as to why I still was having certain symptoms, and even managed to mess up the prescription of antibiotics that were prescribed. He did not follow the ADA or AAE prescribing recommendations on top of prescribing the incorrect number of total pills, I was short the seven day course of antibiotics. At my second appointment the staff was more attentive to my concerns but at that point I had lost my nerve to deal with this tooth for any longer (been having major problems with it for six months) and had it extracted instead. I pre-paid $1421 for the retreatment, $1142 for the re-treatment and $279 for the exam and x-rays. I was refunded for half of the total bill $710.50 even know they did not perform the re-treatment and acted as if they were doing me a solid. If you are in need of a re-treatment I would look for a more experienced practice. read more

They gave me a quote after checking with my dental insurance plan. I was new with the plan and didn't realize there was a waiting period for the procedure. They received a fax from insurance co. with coverage info, and it clearly stated there was a waiting period. Either deliberately or by mistake, they did not communicate this and gave me a quote that assumed insurance would cover 60%. After the procedure, was hit with the bill for the remainder. Talked to billing person, who consulted with Dr. Pugh. They absolutely refused to budge or negotiate the bill, and threatened collections. It is partly their fault for not catching the waiting period. I hope it is not standard practice for this office to catch their customers off guard like this. I can't believe with the experience with insurance coverage letters they would miss something as simple as waiting periods! read more

I've had 2 root canals done by Dr. Fry. I can't figure out why people make such a big deal out of having a root canal! Both of my experiences were basically equivalent to the "ordeal" of a simple filling--no big deal. I was informed about cost before the appt itself. I was instructed clearly about what to do if I had pain (I had no pain!). Dr. Fry communicated precisely about the procedure both before and as she worked. Her skills are superior, but, as a patient, I appreciated her compassionate attitude and calming tone even more. If you need an endodontist-head to Hamilton Mill Endodontics. I can't say enough good things about this practice. I went to see Dr. Fry for a root canal re-treatment. The staff members were all friendly and very accommodating, and Dr. Fry was fantastic. She truly listened when I told her of my fear of the procedure, and she took extra steps to make sure I was relaxed and comfortable. I can honestly say it was a pain-free procedure, and that's a rare thing for me. Nobody wants to have a root canal, but if you have to have one this is definitely the place to go! read more
