I went to The Hamburger Stand on Saturday, 20 September 2025, at 1726PDT, after a day of meandering the SR-190. I typically end my day with a classic American meal. Par for the course will find me chowing down on an #AllAmerican #cheeseburger, #onionrings, and #chocolateshake. And, that's EXACTLY what I got at The Hamburger Stand and their version is DEEEEELICIOUS!! Of note, I'm a no frills kinda guy, so I'm not always diggin' that high-brow foodie stuff. But, rather, I'm typically seeking out comfort foods. Foods I was raised on. Foods that brings me back to my youth. Those days when a bite into a good burger quickly hurls me back to a distant memory with my Family or Friends, while its savoriness keeps my taste buds, heart, and stomach happily sated. And, THAT'S what The Hamburger Stand's did for me. I got their Regular Cheeseburger Meal combo of cheeseburger, small order of french fries, and a medium soda for $7.99. After I asked, the Owner said he would switch out onion rings for the fries and a chocolate shake for the soda. And, honestly, I can't recall if he charged me extra for it; I assumed he did, but I really should've checked, because food costs can be hard for a Business Owner. So, the next time I come back (yes, I plan to return), I'll be sure to add a bit more to the tip, along with an explanation. I love being up in the mountains - I spent the day driving California's SR-190 to Ponderosa - so, The Hamburger Stand's ambiance and seating are super cool. The woodsy feeling brought me back to the mountains of the United States, Austria, Germany, or Switzerland; and, I'm actually not joking! When I got to The Hamburger Stand, there was a small group of young Kids and a Dad and his Daughter who were waiting for their order. Overhearing the Owner taking a phone order, I heard him say he was unexpectedly busy and he was the only one working that day -- trademarks of a dedicated Business Owner and Entrepreneur. Taking my order, he summarily apologized for being under-staffed, so I let him know I empathized with him. Having owned a small bistro and I was once a worker, leader, supervisor, and manager I've gone through the exact same issues, so I let him know that I was not in a hurry. He was grateful. While watching him work, it was obvious he was a seasoned restaurant Owner - he was never frazzled, answered questions and phone calls adeptly, and worked the kitchen like a pro. The Owner brought me my meal and I then said grace, thanking The Lord for this meal, asking Him to bless the Business Owner, their Staff, Customers, and Suppliers. From the first bite to the final swipe of the napkin, the cheeseburger was perfect (after I put in the ketchup), the onion rings were scrumptious and perfectly cooked, and the chocolate shake was silky smooth. Don't laugh, but the red plastic tray, red-and-white checkerboard paper mat, and simple napkins completed my comfort food setting. We stopped by twice for Lunch the first time it was really busy with only two people working they looked flustered thought the quality of the food might be effected but in the contrary the burgers were prepared with the highest care and the cashier was attentive. When we said it was wrong the waiter gave us attitude. As a recent traveler, it was nice seeing a small little burger joint in the middle of an unknown town. Little did I know, that this was going to hit the spot. To the decor, and its friendly employees, you know you're going to be taken care of. The food was filling for what was available to us. There are not many options around this small town but The Hamburger Stand will satisfy your hangry brethren and will ensure that there are no hangry combatants to be had in the car afterward. We arrived on a Monday around 4:30pm after a nature walk in this beautiful little town. The Hamburger Stand had consistent customers but we were quickly able to place our orders and the wait wasn't bad at all. There was one woman cooking and one running the register, cleaning tables, and serving tables. The walls were lined with historic photos, heirlooms, and collectables from a century ago and told a beautiful story of old logging times. The server was very nice and served us our food at our table. The sodas were super sweet and sugary and had more flavor due to the extra syrup I suppose they add to their drinks. We really enjoyed them. My wife and I ordered fried pickles as an appetizer and they were awesome! I'd never had fried pickles before and these were cut into strands like french fries, battered and fried; crispy and crunchy. We dipped them in the homemade ranch dressing and they crunched with every bite and were very flavorful. My wife ordered Half of a ranch hand and said that the burger was extremely juicy and filling. To say my chicken strip basket was filling would be an understatement. The chicken strips were so large I would swear that each one was half a chicken breast. They were juicy and crunchy and the homemade ranch and bbq sauce was excellent. Their fries are also clearly made in house, salted to perfection and crispy and fresh. We both put back all the calories we had burned off on our walk and then some, but it was enjoyable, affordable and extremely satisfying food with a pleasant view out the window of the mountains as a backdrop. Food was fresh and hot, service was prompt and courteous, the ambiance reflects that country charm of Springville.

My family decided to come to springville for a trip and saw this burger spot. The food was good but the lady that took our order (my colored sister and I ) was so rude, we did have a long order but she kept talking over us, rolling her eyes every chance she got, she was huffing and puffing, very annoyed at our questions about the food, we asked if we can pay half in cash and she sighs and explained she didn't know how to do a split payment. We sit down to wait and a white couple came in, she was being very kind to them smiling excited to take their order. She didn't give us our drinks but was very quick to give them theirs on the spot. Another man came in and she gave him 4 ranch and 2 bbq sauces without charge but she made it very clear to us the ranch was 50¢ each (we got 8). I feel that if my full white mom ordered the food the cashier would've given us the same energy she was giving to others in the restaurant. read more

I cannot write this review based on their food because I was not given the opportunity to eat there. My best friend and I had just got into town with her puppy and my 18 month old after what seemed like a never ending 6 hours to get here from Orange County! All we wanted to do was get a bite to eat and escape to our cabin for our first annual girls trip. As we pull up, 8:45-8:50, (says they close at 9) there is a lobby full of what seems to be high school kids, maybe newly graduated. The piercing looks from everyone as we pulled up were unsettling but we tried to be understanding as it was close to closing time. The door is unlocked and my friend pokes her head in and politely asks if they're open where she is met with a rude and hard "NO!" I can only imagine how frustrating it is to have to share this beautiful town of springville, but being rude to visitors, (especially ones that are being kind to you) will only cause retaliation. I surely hope this was some fluke and the kids were having some sort of end of year gathering that was scheduled in advance... either way we, three young girls, trying to appreciate a good meal in a beautiful town did not deserve the looks or attitude. It is your traditional small town vibe with great food. I've always loved to go to this place for both rubber freezes and hamburgers. I would compare them to in. And out because I believe in and out is one of the best hamburger places around and very simplistic, and in now the hamburger stand has many more choices in and out, but their hamburgers are as good or better than in and out so. If you ever in Springville, go to hamburger, stand or cow punctures they're both great. read more

We love the grilled cheeses and cheeseburgers. The variety of the menu is also amazing for a restaurant this size. The only problem is portion size with the fries and other fried veggies. You always get the same size bag but depending on who's working, sometimes it's full but other times it's about 1/3 or 1/4 full. It's not a big bag to start with, either, so when the bag is mostly empty it's a rip off for almost $4. Also there is a posted pic of the green beans by the menu and you maybe get 25% if the amount shown in the picture (false advertising!). They really need to implement some quality control on this issue asap because the staff is very friendly and the food is otherwise the only game in town for me and my daughter. read more

Took an entire hour for 3 orders of burgers and fries when it wasn't even busy. My burger was burnt and the bun was very soggy. The burgers here never have any flavor anymore which is disappointing because once upon a time this place was amazing. The burger I got at the rodeo was cheaper and ten times tastier than the ones here. The tables are also extremely sticky and dirty, the wood paint was even chipping from the benches and I had to peel it off my legs after I got up. This place needs a serious refresh both to the dining area and the quality of the food. Stopped by after a day of hiking. The beautiful view and absolutely classic sign made us choose this place. Once inside I was surprised by how extensive the menu was. The cashier couldn't have been much older than 15 (if at all), but she was polite and professional, kudos to her. The first red flag was when we were waiting to order, a gentleman walked up to the counter and asked how much longer his order would take and he was audibly annoyed. So we placed our order and sat outside. Again, beautiful view. After 15 minutes I went in to see how our order was coming and I could see half the order on trays on the kitchen counter. The food order wouldn't come out for at least another 10 minutes... and that's when the real problems began. 1. We ordered 3 burgers. One 1/4 pounder and two 1/8th of pound burgers. All three burgers had the same single tiny patty. 2. Chicken strips and curly fries were huge, piping hot and tasty. BUT the burgers and the nachos were cold. 3. Not only were the burgers cold, but the sauce had also soaked into the bread and turned it into a goopy mess. 4. The nachos were cold tortilla chips with canned cheese, the kind you'd buy at a HS football concession stand for $1.25 and they might have been okay if the cheese wasn't cold and lumpy. I really wanted to like this place but it literally AND figuratively left a bad taste in my mouth. We didn't make any complaints because we were starving and just wanted to eat at that point, so I don't know how they would have resolved the problems we experienced. I want to finish this on a positive note, so I'll say that the cashier girl, was genuinely apologetic about the long wait and the chocolate malted milkshake was pretty good, lots of places tend to overdo the malted part but this place nailed the ratio. read more
