Wonderful tour of the lavender farm with the friendly and sweet owners. Highly recommend visiting the farm and exploring all that is lavender, especially in the farm store. The farm made honey and lavender lemonade were both yummy! We will visit again, they have lots of fun seasonal activities and projects. Thank you Gina & Milton for sharing your amazing story and farm with us!

This family owned and operated Lavender Farm was amazing. The owners, Gina and Milton put much care and love into their plants that translates into all the products they offer. Their tours are fun, educational, and entertaining! And they have a few wonderful farm animals that you can interact with. Thank you, Gina and Milton for having us and I look forward to coming back for more!

Hambly Farms was a reminder for how lucky I am to be in California. You'd think LA or SF when visiting the state, but there's so much to see in between--including this farm! Make sure to visit Hambly Farms when driving SF-LA, or better yet just visit San Luis Obispo county! Not only did it have mesmerizing views... but it was also fun, informative, and such a great experience. The owners of the farm live by their philosophy-- creating numerous all natural great products! They gave a lovely tour explaining the different kinds and uses of lavenders. They also have animals you can pet, feed and spend time with. We were given baskets and scissors to harvest our own bouquets. checked out their goods and products, and ended my visit there with their lavender ice cream to beat the heat! Hambly farms is definitely a hidden gem. A great escape from the busy city life with its calming scent and marvelous views.

Our U-Pick experience at Hambly Farms was incredibly relaxing and educational. Enjoy learning about everything that lavender has to offer while taking in the stunning views and lovely fragrance. At the end we were able to feed the farm animals and then harvest our own lavender bundle from various varietals. The farm store also has many thoughtfully made and curated products which are a must grab on the way out. Such a lovely family run business and we will be sure to return soon!

I booked a tour at Hambly Lavender Farm for my friend's bachelorette party in June, and it was absolutely amazing! The tour was lovely, and the gift shop had amazing lavender ice cream. It was nice that my friends and I got to take home a bundle of lavender as a keepsake. This is a must-do in Paso Robles!

My family visited this farm and absolutely love it here! The staff is very friendly and kid oriented. The views are amazing as we picked our own lavender and the kids enjoyed the variety of farm animals. The education about the farm and all that it entails gave us interesting future conversations within our family. We found the experience to be relaxing and carefree. The products we brought home still fill the house with the amazing lavender smell and bring us back to the farm each time! We WILL be visiting in the near future!

Lavender u-pick

Love the family run lavender farm. The owners are very friendly and the farm is well maintained. We came here for u-pick and the price is very reasonable and the lavenders smell really good. We bought the spray and hydrosol and will test it out at home. Love the experience and kids friendly for sure.

Bill and Frank -- lovable creatures

What a heavenly place! This is my favorite Harvest Host location by far. We came during the offseason and would love to return when the lavenders are in bloom (U-Pick starts May 1). The rolling hills with acres of lavender are breathtaking. This is a great place for kids of all ages, including those that are over 60! We loved petting and feeding the baby goats, Bill (the patriarch goat) and Frank, the black and white pig. They are friendly and love visitors. There is a small but charming gift shop on site where they make their own lavender products. We love the scent of their lavender goat milk soaps and they make perfect gifts for friends and family as they have a story to go with them. It is a wonderful educational experience as we learned so much about growing and harvesting lavender. Definitely a worthwhile stop when traveling through Central California.

We were actually there for 3.5 hours and it was worth every minute. Thanks, Richard, for imparting your love for olives. Can't wait to return with friends. We planned a trip to see his farm on the last day of our trip. I sadly can't drink right now, so what else is there to do outside of family activities and wineries? Olive oil farming! It was a great way to end our time on the central coast. Richard started by telling us about his story of becoming the Olive oil man. He helped us learn about Olive trees (we had brought a branch from our tree), the olives themselves, and the milling process. He brought us into his tasting room, and we tried various oils and a vinegar, as wells as a few flavor pairings. We really have a new appreciation for not only olives, Olive oils, and farming, but Richard and smaller, non-commercial farmers. Every bottle is a labor of love crafted by him, his wife, and even his dog. The visit felt like we had visited an uncle, and we did buy oils (he definitely doesn't ask you to, but after tasting then and knowing the process, you definitely want to.) We were going to send some as gifts, but it's hard to appreciate something as much unless you've experienced it. We experienced the San Miguel Olive Farm and we're better for it. Thanks again Richard! We definitely will try to come up one October to experience the harvesting to complete the journey.

The Friends of the Adobe are some committed historians to have done such a fine job in putting this place back together and collecting the artifacts to fill the museum. I cam through a couple months ago and the place was being put back together after some major building re-enforcement's, I spoke with a curator and was told of the once a year event Caledonia Day. I Came back for Caledonia Day, a late September event, and found the place fully back together, with the museum in good shape and the gift store packed, and lots of different groups supporting the events annual whoop de do. It included dutch oven cook off, old time engines, a small car show, ice cream. BBQ and more. Now back to the Adobe and grounds. There is an upstairs and ground level to the museum. It has many historical photos, labelled well, and even a mammoth tusk discovered nearby in 1969 WOW. The upstairs is a historical display of life in an earlier time. For those interested in the early California History it is a good display. The Rios Caledonia Adobe is California Historical Landmark No. 936. There is a very nice library and historical reference building that is available for researchers of California History.
