Prices of the fruit and veg are a bit more expensive but I believe their quality and freshness to be a bit higher than your Metro, Super C, Maxi etc. Also it's nice to come into a smaller store to be able to get in and out of quickly (with some staple items) and typically not the longer lineups. I have found that their meat and seafood are very expensively priced (we go to Costco)! The place to me is the perfect size of corner grocery stores (from an era in which there were local supermarkets). Now the majority of the supermarkets are so big and you don't need half of the items they have. Although price is a tad higher I don't mind paying for it for produce. For meat however this is a different ballgame.

The staff are quick, friendly and are clearly taking this situation seriously and I can't tell you how much that means to us. The peace of mind of knowing that your groceries hadn't been sneezed on by a million panic shoppers was 100% worth the wait. Bonus: we were able to buy an enormous, restaurant sized bag of flour. While they don't have all the frills like a bakery, cider house, petting zoo, if you're just looking to pick apples in peace, this might be a good option! He estimated that Cortland apples would be at their prime in the last week of September (2023) so I might come back then!

First of all, grocery workers are front lines workers these days and I want to send them love and…read moregratitude for keeping the doors open and providing food to people who are seriously freaked. This IGA - aside from being amazing in all the ways I described in my original review - seems to be setting the standard for how to properly operate under the current conditions so I wanted to share in the hopes of other grocery stores following their lead. When you arrive here, all the doors are closed except for one and when you enter that one there's a portable handwashing station like you'd see outside portopotties at a festival. So everyone is washing their hands as they enter. Then they are given a cart which has just been wiped down by the staff. Staff are also circulating wiping down the handles of fridge doors etc. Cashiers are using sanitizer between every customer and as you leave your cart is immediately wiped down again. This loving attention will save lives in our community and I really really appreciate it.
