Then in the summer of 2013 they had a major fire and had to close down for almost a full year to renovate and totally rebuild. Since the rebuild the fire damaged the tanning salon next door so the new Lazio just opened up again and it is really a well designed and beautifully decorated upgrade. Also in the new Lazio is a cafe-lounge. Onto the food. They are known for their tomato pizza bread. Usually I go for a half $8. or you can have a quarter size for $5. Their tomato bread is a Quebec specialty. A really good tomato sauce and the bread is nice light and great to munch on small pieces. It makes wonderful finger food for a party. They also have an excellent selection of olives, sausages and desserts. Sometimes we get the tart au sucre, sometimes the 5 fruit. Also their bread is super fresh and a great place to get a fresh baguette. Some of their items are a bit on the pricer side so be careful and look at price. This is our go to Italian place for goods and I can tell by the lineup on Saturday's that it's many other people's go to place as well!

It's at the upper end of the spectrum in terms of cafe's that serve fresh baked goods and prepared foods. This location has expanded their cafe and also offered free wifi (a fantastic idea). For lunch you can get here in and out under $13 (taxes and tip) for an excellent lunch. On the day I came by I had indulged in a nourishing fresh bacon sandwich which was pannini grilled with lettuce and tomato. I was able to enjoy a fresh pea soup (not too salty) with this. All around it was awesome. People who know me well know I complain about a lot of the crap quality food in this province but here it's nothing but excellent quality all the way! Selection is good of soups, sandwiches, some pasta dishes and salads. Originally I'd come for their breads as they have really high quality crispy but fresh and soft inside breads. Baked fresh daily. Also their pastries and cakes are decadent and delicious. A very popular place especially during the holidays or valentines day as they always have a good selection of artisan chocolate.

The bad: Took us a total of 12 MINUTES between ordering and getting a simple moka coffee. Yeah, TWELVE ! And they were five people behind the counter (one cashier, one sandwich person, one server, one filling donuts, and one running around doing whatever). There is no car service there. Totally bad place and no service. This time was worse than previous as we came for a simple coffee and had more people available to give us service.

No waiting at the cash register, even though it was a busy day. The bad: Very busy. Parking lot is dangerous (people and drivers not looking). Nobody sanitize their hans when entering. Probably a great place to shop and do groceries. Too bad the entrance looks trashy and no one sees the sanitizer station. Also, watch out as people walk right in front of your car, even if you are rolling.

What my wife and I enjoy and appreciate about this IGA is it is definitely the nicest a very enjoyable shopping experience plus well laid out and clean. Their produce although a bit more expensive than other places seems to be much fresher and of higher quality. Recently for Mother's Day IGA has always the best price and it's the quintessential start of lobster season $6.99 uncooked and $7.99 cooked). You really can't beat those prices. They have a wonderful decorative and artistic bakery offering up loads of sweet tooth delicacies and desserts. Beer selection is top notch with a walk in cooler for larger 12-24 packs. Price is a bit more than other places but bearable. Fresh meat section is of very high quality cuts and selection. A great time to come shopping is in the evenings as it's virtually empty.

They sell ingredients, wigs (you know you want to buy one and other curious offerings. They have choice of medium or large plate. A large plate is easily two lunch meals for me for $12.50. Food offerings are chicken, turkey, pork griot and cabri (goat meat) plates. My choice was a pork griot plate with riz colle, plantains, macaroni salad, sauce and pickliz.Pork offering was generous. It wasn't all grizzly fat. Some solid chunks of pork. The riz colle was a huge serving, well seasoned. Super delicious from a small business. I'm definitely coming back. Takeout pretty much with a simple table if you wanted to eat. Food was great! Thanks
