I really like Halsa!! At first, I was tempted to pass up on this place because of the overall mid-ranged yelp ratings, but Im so glad my friend insisted on us trying it out. Customer service was engaging and friendly, and offered excellent recommendations. And our food took a bit longer than usually expected to come to our table, but I didn't mind because it seems like almost everything is made to order. Also, they describe their food as "clean". Both the krispy kale and Brussel sprouts tacos (w/ salmon instead of tofu) and the build a burger were tasty with both flavors being on point. The outdoor seating is a nice modern wooden set up with the cutest table fans that kinda resemble windmill architecture. The drinks were good..and strong, so beware. I had the cucumber bliss (gin, cucumber, lime soda, lime juice, agave, and elderflower). My friend had the house margarita (tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and agave). Halsa is such a beautiful and quaint eatery located in Serenbe which is in Chattahoochee Hills didn't disappoint. This restaraunt provides fresh and local ingredients in their dishes that are absolutely delicious. Along with that, they provide clean and healthy options that satisfy the appetite. They have weekly specials and when we visited they had the taco salad in which we thoroughly enjoyed. The chicken was marinated and seasoned to perfection, and the feta complemented the salad along with the pico de gallo, black beans, corn, sour cream, avocado, and chipotle vinaigrette. This salad really was chef's kiss We also ordered the blue Greek salad, an iced chai latte, and an iced matcha lavender latte which all were amazing as well. The staff was nice and helpful as it was our first time and gave great recommendations. They were also very patient with us when we were deciding what we wanted and made sure to check on us and how our meal was afterwards. We stopped in for lunch during a visit to Serenbe around noon. It was pretty empty at the time, and the ambiance is really lovely: it's a pastel, airy sort of cafe. For lunch, the four of us ordered the Nordic Salmon ($15), Crispy Kale & Brussels Sprout Tacos ($12), Halsa's Scandinavian Meatballs ($15), and the Bleu Greek ($11). The counter service was fine, but the food took a pretty long time to come out, especially given the fact that there weren't a lot of other diners at the time. And though all the food looked good -- and seemed to be made with fresh ingredients -- we just didn't find any of it very tasty. It felt like the kitchen had slapped together various ingredients with more of an eye towards presentation than taste. The meatballs, for example, sat on a bed of unflavored egg noodles; I found the salad components in the Nordic salmon a bit puzzling (too many unflavored potato slices!); and we had to drown the tacos in hot sauce to give it some zing. Would do zero stars if available. With all of the great restaurants spots available in Serenbe, this place stands out as the absolute worst. Came in to a relatively empty establishment with maybe 5 tables filled. Made our order, and sat on the patio. A group of 7 people came in a few minutes behind us, and sat outside on the patio. They all got their meals and almost finished before we got our meals. We went in to complain and was greeted with a rude demeanor. Once we got our food, they brought the wrong things. They did not bring the soup, and have the fries to the wrong meal. After the long wait coupled with the complaint, Instead of making it right, they only brought a side place for us to transfer the fries over. Would not recommend. Seeing "Scandinavian", I immediately thought it would be like IKEA's food court and I'm glad I was wrong. Healthy food, nice variety, great staff and vibe. Grab and go cooler, serves alcohol - great margaritas!! Live music the most recent evening I went, an Open Mic. Great Gluten-free brownies and chocolate chip cookies are AMAZING. I've built my own bowls and never been disappointed. The Turkey burger is absolutely fantastic (available on GF toast, or a pretzel bun). Smoked salmon plate for breakfast is also delicious. The dish had absolutely NO flavor and after piling on much needed salt and pepper it just became useless. Stouffers frozen meatballs and noodles has more flavor. The Serenbe Sour was amazing though! I don't even want to give this place 1 star! I went there after a relaxing afternoon at the Spa. I sat at the counter, staff buzzing all around me. I waited 8 minutes and 24 seconds before getting fed up! Staff were clearing plates around me, and...NOTHING! No acknowledgement what so ever. Then, as I was leaving, still starving, a couple walked in. They were greeted with "Hello. We'll be with you momentarily ". Again, HOW RUDE!!! I feel this spot is more about the ambiance than the food which is kind of disappointing. We went for lunch and ordered our food online to go. On a positive note That patio is very open and airy, perfect for people watching and catching all of Serenbe's quaint vibes. The interior dining area is cute. The staff is very pleasant, the ordered food was quickly prepared. We should've just walked in and ordered our food off the menu or read the menu from the website and called in our order because the oblong ordering system doesn't have or allow you to order from the full lunch/dinner menu. The online system only allows you to order sandwiches but if you were to walk in or order over the phone you'd know there are tacos and salads available also. That was a bummer. My cousin ordered the salmon burger with a side of fruit. Her side of fruit? A container of grapes, which is disappointing considering the Serenbe community is known for its farm. Local seasonal assorted fruits would've been the expectation. I ordered the curry chicken sandwich as a salad and it was simply an ice cream scoop of curried chicken salad on top of mixed greens with a halfed slice of tomato. Nothing more or less. I asked for my side to be hummus but unfortunately they forgot to include it. The food is pretty unremarkable and not full of flavor. Dare I say the food is only a few steps removed from not being very good? Maybe the salads and other offerings are better? Perhaps breakfast is a better option or maybe grabbing drinks on the patio for the cool vibes? I honestly will likely choose to eat at other tried and true Serenbe favorites. read more

Wait was terrible for only a party of five. People served before us that came a half hour after us.

This was the type of meal in which after you finish your stomach thanks you and you feel better about life. Loved the build your own bowl with fresh ingredients and focus on veggies even though the salmon was also great. I made the mistake of splitting this bowl with my wife and I almost went back for another bowl. We chose the farro with greens, edamame, cooked Brussel sprouts, pumpkin seeds, and chickpeas. The concept here is quick Swedish bites with a focus on healthy options. We also tried the potato pancake like thingy that came with a sort of sour cream-chive mix, little delicious shrimpy's, onion, and caviar. They have a nice array of fancy bottled drinks too here, the rosewater lemonade and dragon berry Kombucha were both good. All of the salad dressing for the bowls are homemade and I like that they let me try three different ones at no extra cost. The teriyaki sauce was nice and tangy, lemon pepper was a bit spicy, and the basil balsamic was a nice break when I was tired of the teriyaki. The food came quickly and the servers were very nice. The patio was perfect for corona dining and eating near the forest there is pretty ideal. The meal wasn't too cheap but given the quality and what we expected it made sense. There are a number of other unique menu items I'd come back to try here as well as to get another bowl. read more

While I love the concept, execution was a bit of a miss during our 6pm visit. Menu options feature salads, sandwiches, and some specialty entrees. It's a quick dining service option where you order at the counter and find your own seating. The space is open and airy and also has great patio seating outside. This side of Serenbe is still being developed with only houses surrounding the restaurant - so not any shops or parks to peruse before or after your meals, unlike the other restaurant options at Serenbe. Ordering at the counter is easy enough, but it took a while for our orders to come out. While we did order one custom bowl, the 3 other entrees were off the menu. We ordered two tuna poke bowls and it had great flavor and fresh ingredients, but it was the stingiest amount of tuna we've ever received for a poke bowl - especially for $16. (See picture.) My husband ordered the chicken curry sandwich and a side salad and it was fine but pretty bland and also meager on the chicken. The staff was very nice but perhaps they needed more support because the wait time was very prolonged and many of the tables on the patio were not cleared and sticky. I had to get my own wipes out (I have two young kids, y'all, of course I carry wipes at all times!) to wipe our tables down. If they work on speed and weren't so stingy on protein, I'd really like this spot. read more

We had high hopes after reading about the community and driving/walking around. The menu seemed promising as well. We were one of four tables seated in the restaurant. We waited 15minutes for water and 16 minutes for food. I ordered the Salmon Burger: Bland with a heavy on the dill flavored Aioli. My side was vegan chili. This was delicious. Wife had the roasted turkey sandwich: no complaints. Good not great. There was not a printed kids menu, so the server informed us about their grilled cheese and PB&J options for the kids. 17mo. Old twins got the PB&J: To our surprise it came out as a grilled PB&J. Although their twist on a common PB&J was clever the execution was sloppy...the multi-grain bread was burnt.. try feeding burnt multigrain toast to 17 month-old toddlers... both who aren't typically picky. The food was amazing. They had outdoor seating with wooden tables. It was very picturesque. The only thing that bothered me was asking me to tip before receiving my meal and service. Otherwise this Vegetarian restaurant was great. The menu had quit a bit on it, I forgot to take a picture just because of how the ordering was set up. The service was great and the food was the correct temperature. A lot of the residents came to eat and drove their golf carts. So it's a golf cart community like Peachtree City, the only difference is that I saw sooooo many Tesla's ... Picked up dinner to go for my family of 6. We loved the ambiance of the restaurant when picking up the food. It's just a bummer the food struck out big time. "Roasted chicken" was not roasted but appeared to be pan fried. It was overcooked and dry, and cut into strips instead of whole breast as I imagined which was a huge let down. The cauliflower rice lacked flavor and the roasted peppers were meh. None of the flavors came together. Crispy Kale & Brussel Sprouts Tacos had a huge amount of kale but not much brussel sprouts. It was sub par as when my mother in law took a bite of her taco, water legit came rushing out of the opposite end of the taco. No body likes eating a wet taco. Make Your Own Bowls and the Poke bowls were small portions. There were only 4 or 5 small cubes of tofu in the custom bowl. Swedish Beef Stew was tasty but not enough. They forgot to pack the red onion and beet salad. My father in law walked back to Halsa to go get his salad because he was starving. When he came back to open up the box of side salad, we couldn't help but laugh. The salad had to be a miscommunication. It was just plain mixed greens as if the chef just grabbed a hand full out of a mixed greens a bag you get from Kroger's and tossed it into the to go box. No red onions. No beets or anything. A very sad salad. Everyone was scrounging for food after dinner. I had to dive into our kids' Chips Ahoy and Easy Mac to save the night. Hoping it was just an off night for Halsa. read more

I went to the spa for a two hour massage and thought I'd take a quiet moment to lunch at Halsa. Not a good idea...the whole visit to this restaurant was horrible. First, the young lady who was supposed to be taking my order was far too interested in taking selfies with the other two girl employees. Once she did decide to take my order, she was quite rude and condescending. I have never been here before so I was not familiar with the menu. I wanted to get the "choose two" so I asked for a salad and sandwich...apparently I did not choose the correct sandwich because I was told "you can't have that sandwich, read the note by the asterisk." Very rude. I placed my order and thought (after spending $300 on a massage) that I would sit on the patio...BIG MISTAKE. A woman (who appeared to be the manager) came out on the patio and started moving tables and chairs around. The tables are quite heavy and made a really disturbing noise when pulled or slid across the floor. No apology, no recognition that a customer was trying to have lunch. If that was not enough...one the employees came out and started having a discussion about her schedule. This went on for five minutes. Again, disturbing!! Wait...it get's worse...after the manager finishes sliding and moving all the tables, except for the one I am sitting at...she starts SWEEPING the patio creating a dust and dirt cloud on the patio. At this time I am disgusted with the whole experience. I do not finish my food (more than half of it) and leave. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Horrible service and disregard to customers who just want to enjoy a meal after getting a massage. NEVER AGAIN. read more

The service was atrocious. There were six people ahead of us in line. It took 30 minutes to take their order. The person at the register kept wandering off for long periods of time. Then, in a restaurant with most of the tables empty, it took 15 minutes for our drinks and 30 minutes for our food to come out. And nothing we ordered needed to be cooked. We were trying to make it to a show. We had allowed plenty of time, even if they were slow, but this level of slow was unbelievable. No one apologized. No one seemed in a hurry. Some of the people in our party had to ask for to-go containers because we needed to leave. She said she'd bring them "in a bit." We said we need to leave now. She said she would bring them right over. She walked straight to the register and started taking orders. I had to go ask a different member of the staff for the containers. read more

I ordered the "Americana" breakfast. It was amazing! Eggs,grits,avocado, chicken sausage and toast. The grits are the real deal. The chicken sausage was delicious and not greasy. But the star of the meal was the toast, Nordic multigrain. I'll go back just for that. I would have rated them 5 stars but their coffee is self serve in a thermos carafe.
