I took my Mercedes there on Wednesday 21st Nov for an MOT. Shortly after leaving it there I received a call to say that my indicators on my mirrors was not working therefore, they were going to fail my car. I was informed that to repair the indicators on both side mirrors would cost me £200. I initially agreed to this provided I could get my car back on the same day. A few hours later I was told that the job would cost £400 as they needed to re-wire the whole thing. At that point I said no. I would take my car, to my sparky for him to fix the indicators.
When I arrived at the garage at around 17.20, the bonnet was wide open, the indicators were hanging off and the mirrors were taken out. The short guy with the glasses (the person I had met and left my car with initially) apologised to me for me not being able to take the car and offered me a courtesy car to drive until the morning. He they went on to say that their sparky had a dentist appointment and had left early, hence why they were unable to put the car back together. He went on to say that they thought the indicator light was the problem however, they had ordered a new part and discovered the part to be faulty so they needed to remove it and return it. I accepted what he said, took the courser car and left.
The next day I got a call saying the car was ready to be picked up. This is when the crap really hit the fan. I arrived and was told that I needed to pay £125 because they had to get a sparky to look at the car. As far as I am concerned, this is not my problem, I left the car with them. If they chose to get a third party, that's on them.
Then I noticed my wing mirrors were hanging off and the tilted mirror had air bubbles in it. At this point, I was totally annoyed. This may not be a brand new car but it is my car. I look after it and it looks after me.
When I demanded to speak tot he gaffer, he had an attitude...."you listen to me!!" he shouted, as if I shouldn't be annoyed that my car was given back to me with my indicators hanging off and air bubbles in my specialist tinted mirrors. They didn't give a monkeys about what they had done to my car even though I went back to them after they lost my locking wheel nut, but that is another story.
I took the car to my sparky and was charged £30 as it only took a few minutes to sort out. yes, that right £30 quid and they wanted £400. I would be laughing if I wasn't so offended that they tried to rip me off after being a loyal customer to them for many years. But that is not all my friends, the clips inside of the indictors which allow them to be attached to the car has been broken beyond repair costing a total of £495 each plus VAT. These gobshytes broke both my indicators. Yes, they flash but now there is a gap from the indicator to the car.
I am going back up there tomorrow morning (Sat 24th Nov 2018) to see their boss Ryan, to see what they are going to do about it.
