It was the first time using airbnb but they had great reviews and I did not hestitate about booking with them. Any other place just paled in comparison. We happened to arrive much earlier than check in and they had the room all ready for us. The property is breathtaking and even the amazing pictures do not do it justice. I was in awe at the level of hospitality and comfort Nancy and Jerry put into the lovely guest house for us. The refrigerator was stocked with water, soda, milk and juice as well as breakfast items including eggs, bagels, cream cheese, butter, fresh fruit, granola bars and coffee. I wish we had more time to just stay and relax at their home but we took advantage of having breakfast right outside on the patio while watching the sun come up and staring up at the stars in the evening. Jerry gave us some great advice on things we should see in the area and we ate lunch at the Haunted Hamburger in Jerome as he recommended. I cannot say enough great things about their property, the view and overall friendliness but to book a stay with them and you will not regret it. Everyone needs to experience this breathtaking location and that's the reason I posted to Yelp, so others can find this amazing getaway!

This creatively designed home is spacious, and fun with its dynamic layout and cool decor... yet relaxing with its many different spaces to lounge or ground down in its nature nooks. The energy here at the Desert Rose lends itself to a vibrant time for family fun, social community gatherings, dancing, mini concerts etc... with their nice pool, huge fire pit and big kitchen for all the cooks, taste testers. And the kitchen actually has been upgraded all modern shiny new. The one bedroom is not exactly a suite as the bedroom is separated with an open sort of not all the way to the ceiling partially walled off design, which provides some privacy but no noise barrier, but the set up is nice enough and the vaulted ceiling with skylight adds to the appeal. The kitchen is all modern and includes everything but an oven. Dishwasher (no garbage disposal) full sized refrigerator, 4 induction cooktop, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, all dishes bowls and utensils including for cooking, and a pot and pan. Fireplace more for show than heating but a nice touch. There is an hvac unit for heating and AC. Ours was the disabled end unit which is nice being on the end but no tub. The bathroom sink was completely stuffed with hair which I unclogged with my fingers and the pipe underneath was not connected or broken such that water went straight through onto the floor. We checked in around 6pm and the after hours front desk person said to just call in the morning for the repair. I would have asked for a discount or free night due to this but the front desk people including Matthew were so nice and also so quick to send their maintenance that I didn't ask. It was inconvenient to have the workers there while we were getting ready to leave but they got the job done pretty quickly. Would recommend would return.

As you see in the pictures, the mattress did not fit in the bed frame and I thought that was a very tacky and unsafe. Also, the chair in the master bedroom Had a screw poking out that was uncomfortable so we did not use that chair. The scenery was beautiful! We did the honeymoon suite and each door in it (the bathroom,bedroom, and living room each had a door that opened up to the patio/outside.) listening to the creek was nice! They have a gazebo as well and seating on the porch with blankets. They have a microwave and mini fridge and they provided grapes when we arrived. Day 2 they provided cute little chocolate mousse desserts. For a refresh/turndown, you text the concierge. The tub was big and deep definitely fit 2 people. It's my understanding that the honeymoon suit is the only one with the separate living room/bathroom/bedroom set up. I liked the space and separate rooms, which is why we picked this particular room (Also, just an FYI, looking at the pictures online, it looks like the furniture in the honeymoon suite is outdated/Victorian style compared to the other rooms that they have, but expected this going in because I looked at the photos ahead of time). First off, the resort is lovely - we loved our room, the view from our balcony was beautiful & the pool was perfect. Second and even more importantly to me, the staff was top notch, professional & so very kind. Long story short, my kids and I experienced a fairly big hiccup during our trip. On the way to Meteor Crater, my car got a flat tire & I had no spare. This happened on the highway & it was hot. The towing company took about 3 hours to pick us up & tow us to a tire place in Flagstaff where it took another 3 hours to get my tire replaced. Needless to say, we missed our day at Meteor Crater AND I felt like a horrible mom for not having a spare. While we were waiting for the tire to get replaced, I called the resort to ask what time the pool closed that evening in hopes that we could get back in time to salvage the day, mentioning why we would be late coming back. When we finally got back to the resort that night we had missed the pool hours but the nice young lady at the front desk told me they would extend our check out the next day so we could swim. My kids were so happy & really enjoyed their time at the pool. The extra time had already started to help turn our trip around but then when I went to check out, I found out that the resort had gifted us our stay. I was shocked but even more than that, I was touched that they would even think to do that. Talk about going above and beyond. While the resort is beautiful & I would go back for that alone, it is the kindness and compassion from the team at The Wilde Resort & Spa that I will ALWAYS remember.

The doors are heavy and when guests leave, they slam hard and you can hear it in your room - There's no slow release hynge. The pillows, omg, are hard not good for neck alignment. The tv doesn't work. The reason for 2 data, is because they have sl movie night where they pull up a big screen on the courtyard and watch. They also have these cool fire pits & chairs.
