A first visit to this library branch in Johns Creek felt like stepping into a little haven. The…read moreentrance was lined with $1 books and a spot to donate your own, which instantly set a warm, community‑minded tone. Inside, the space is bright and peaceful, with huge windows overlooking the trees, plenty of cozy seating, quiet study nooks, and full access to computers. Stephanie, a librarian of 21 years, was a joy to talk to. She mentioned that visits have dipped since the pandemic, perhaps due to the rise of e‑books, but she wishes more people knew about the incredible resources that often go unused. Beyond books, there are digital tools, in‑person classes, access to new computers, and even free passes to Georgia state parks and the Chattahoochee Nature Center. That's a novel perk if there ever was one. It's a true community gem--welcoming, accessible, and a reminder that libraries offer something the digital world can't: connection. Stopping by your local branch might just be the best chapter you add to your week.

The most important thing is that the employees here are all nice and proactive in helping everyone. Special mention goes to Ellen. She is warm, professional, and tries her best to provide convenience for us, which left a deep impression on me. Indeed, Fulton library system is luck to have people like her!

I come here all the time to tutor high school and college students. It has a bunch of study rooms…read morethat you can reserve for free. They're clean, quiet, and spacious. It's often hard to get a reservation since they're usually booked up, but it still is really great when I get one. If I can't, then there is a larger room which doesn't require reservations, where people can still meet and talk -- however, since we're all in there together it's often louder and with small children. But it can still work. Also the rest of the library has a number of chairs and tables where one can work quietly, and again it's quite nice, spacious, bright, clean. So this is a great library to get work done or spend some time reading. I don't have a lot of experience with the book selection or ordering books, although I did go looking for a bunch of pre-calculus textbooks once and they had a nice large selection already on the shelves. The staff is always pleasant and tries to keep the line at the front desk moving, so I appreciate their work and professionalism! Also, quick plug for my own services: If anyone needs tutoring for advanced math like advanced placement calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, and more, feel free to get in touch! :)

For a large county, the library administration practices seem to be very non reader friendly…read more Books can only be checked out for 2 weeks. Unless you have not much else to do, aka employment, it is very difficult to finish a book in 2 weeks. Also, the library content is mostly "side b" books, not the bestsellers. Popular new books can have waiting list for 80+ people for that ridiculous 2 week reading period. Forsyth county officials should be ashamed of not serving the public very well. Where do the tax dollars go? Staff are friendly and operating hours are decent.

I was there on Friday August 15 to print something for a protest the next day. I told that woman to…read moresee if the computer can print 11 x 17 poster paper. She told me it doesn't work and she and I find solutions to make it resemble to a poster. She showed me the different options that resemble a poster. There was a one option in which you print 8 x 11, in which it is like a normal piece of paper and you print each four individual pieces of papers. That four individual pieces of paper have four corners and when you cut it you can make a poster out of it. So I choose that option, I just want to say thank you to the librarian to take the time to show me on how do it. It was good customer service.

Cute little library tucked in a small town…read more Staff is super attentive and helpful. We were applying for our passports at this location thinking they wouldn't be busy, and it seems so was everyone else. With only one lady up front that knew how to process them, she was patient with each and everyone making sure everything was in order. Library is clean and welcoming. My boys enjoyed being there and had problem waiting with us. It took over an hour but we read, colored, and busy ourselves with their little activities. They also had books and dvds for sell which I need to go back to browse. Price ranged from 50 sents to two dollars.

SMALL TOWN FLAVOR…read more Flowery Branch is a historic railroad town and continues to have several trains driving through the town each day. I discovered the town when I had traveled to the area for a seminar. It was a quiet and peaceful drive and I always thought that I would like to return and explore the downtown area. I recently did just that. The downtown area is very small but it has an antique store, a hair salon, café, bakery, candy shop and other businesses all housed in original structures. Prior to arriving at the shops, you will pass a historic caboose and depot, (built in 1890). Both have been lovingly restored and are currently being used as museums. The depot is also used for weddings, receptions and community events. It can be toured on Saturdays between 11am and 2pm. Just behind the depot you will find Depot Park which is the community green space. It is also where the large Christmas tree has been installed and on this day, additional decorations were being added. Next door to the depot, you will find the Lakeview Art Center which recently installed a mural of a Southern Crescent train on the side of its building. A similar train once ran through the town and is a now a reminder of this period of time. If you want to make the most of your visit to this town, I definitely suggest going when you can tour the caboose and depot, grab a snack from one of the local shops and take a walk down to City Park to enjoy your snack and take in the view!

I love how pleasant it is over here. The apartments are very nice and the establishments over here are different in a good way. I've never seen an area like this that has city hall and shops so close together. This city has that small town appeal with newness everywhere. I love it and I can't wait to see what other events will be held here. Always a good time with good people. I like everything about this area and everyone is friendly, which is rare these days. You should check out their site to see what upcoming events you might want to participate in.

Update on "how it works" during covid. The library is still open for checkouts, but patrons can…read morenot go inside the library. This is easiest process to get materials: 1. Use online library website to reserve materials. 2. You will get an email when the materials are ready for pickup. 3. Library then has two phone call system. First call is to reserve a time for pickup of materials at the library. 4. After you arrive at the library at appointed time, second call is to tell the librarian you are outside. 5. Librarian will bring the materials outside and put them on white table with zero contact. 6. You pick up your materials and head home. Sort of convoluted, but good procedure to protect patrons and librarians. Please see my previous review for more information on the library.
