Ah, I had some issues with this place. I set up my move with the company through Yelp for 3 hours special flat rate and confirmed with the owner for the date and time. On the day of the move, I didn't see anybody after half an hour that they were supposed to be here. I called the owner and basically he was trying to figure out the appointment, then admitted that there was a mistake and they were going to send the crew. We waited for a couple of hours and didn't get a call or respond. When I called again, he said he could send someone later afternoon or give me a discount if I want to reschedule for a day after. Thankfully I wasn't time-rushed so I pushed back. What really bothered me was that the owner gave me an excuse after all this saying that his brother tried to give me a call the day before and it went to the voicemail; when I actually received no phone calls the day before whatsoever. I would have been okay with a simple apology and discount that was offered but that excuse totally gave it away. The next day, the movers came and they were professional and did a great job. I had a fantastic experience with Hall Brothers! They answered my request for a quote right away, asked me some questions and gave me a quote. Scheduling with them was very easy. They are very reasonably priced (very much in line with a couple other quotes I got) On moving day, I got a courtesy call when they were on the way. They got there right at 9AM which was the agreed upon time. They asked where they should park the truck. These guys do haul away as well as moving and I had both. They wrapped all the furniture, dismantled it, and put it back together at the new place. These guys hustle! Heck, they even beat me to my new place! The guys were super nice. They are incredibly kind, efficient, a joy to be around, they enjoy each other's company, and they're mindful of your position. You need to read this. 2 Huge surprises! Based on reviews, decided to go with them. Moved from Clearwater to Brandon. Guy was super nice. Gave me a quote and matched best price I got from others so went ahead. Because I have a bad back, I had them pack everything as well as moving. They came the day before to pack, and next day loaded everything. They came with a 26 foot truck, a huge closed trailer, and 4 people. They said only 3 would be there so that was nice. Usually you don't judge a moving company by whether or not they break something. They will, that's a fact. Heck, I've never moved on my own and not broke something. You judge by how many things they break and how valuable those are. SURPRISE #1: They didn't break A SINGLE THING!!!! Not even a small glass. I've never experienced that before. Everything was packed so well, it was in perfect condition. Not even a small scratch. They even took the big furniture apart that could be taken apart and put it back together. And I have a lot of very fragile stuff (3 - 65" and bigger TV's, computers, monitors, gaming systems, not to mention all the dishes). NICE! SURPRISE #2: I thought I had personally packed my valuables, I forgot to pack one of my Rolex watch. Figured I'd never find it and would have to call them, deal with insurance companies, etc... Guess what. I found it. They packed it in the box where other stuff from that room was. WOW. Gotta love an honest group you can trust. Finally, all of the guys were great. Great personalities, friendly, helpful, and never seemed like anything was not possible. I LOVED these guys. Pedro and Mike were friendly, funny, strong, caring and very considerate during the move, ensuring timeliness and the most use of their time. They even arrived 10 minutes earlier than the scheduled time and called me when they were 20 minutes out. Demetrice, the owner, made it really easy to reserve my move time/date almost to the point where I was skeptical because it was too easy, haha. But, when the day before I received a text confirming my move the next day, I knew I was in great hands. I moved from Tampa to Cocoa, FL, from a 1 bedroom apartment into a storage unit. They were strategically placing and wrapping everything into the truck so that the storage unit had all the furniture in the back, and all the boxes I needed access to in the front for easy access. My husband and I used Hall Brothers Moving for our recent move this past weekend. This moving company met and exceeded our expectations. We hired a truck and three movers to haul our furniture from our apartment to our new house. My husband and I had already moved most of our smaller boxes to the house so the movers just had to move our furniture, several pieces of framed art, and a washer and dryer. We estimated the move would take about three hours since the move from point A to point B was only a ten minute drive. We did go slightly over our time since disconnecting and reconnecting the washer and dryer was a slightly tedious process. Our movers arrived on time, at 10 am as scheduled. Once they arrived they immediately began to wrap our furniture. Every couch, mattress and piece of furniture was wrapped in blankets and saran wrap. Their careful packing resulted in an immaculate delivery. Not a single piece of furniture was scratched or dented! My only complaint was that the movers connected our washer and dryer at our new home incorrectly. Luckily, my husband caught their mistake before we did laundry. I strongly suggest taking a picture of the waterlines behind your dryer to make assembly easier and avoid this mistake. I didn't ding them a star for this mistake since they are movers, not mechanics. Overall, I was really happy with our move and I appreciate that the movers handled our furniture like delicate antiques instead of the Ikea garbage that we own. read more

I initially called DHM for a quote and received a higher estimate based off the information I provided. During the day of the move, 3 movers arrived and completed the entire move in 37 minutes. They were very respectful and worked very fast and efficiently. The items were then stored in their truck for a couple days. The delivery date is where we ran into some issues. The delivery time was scheduled for 1pm. At 8am the morning of, I received a call from one of the actual movers they were running a little late but would be here soon. I informed them it was scheduled for 1pm and they said they thought it was 8am. Around 12:45pm later that day, they called again to inform me they were running a bit behind. At 1:45 I called the mover to check the status and he said he was picking up the truck and would be right there. They finally arrived at 3pm. Two movers this time and the entire move took an hour. There were some minor issues with small items missing but owner offered to replace. A mattress was dropped to the ground on one corner which with the fabric and material of the mattress we had, retained that pretty well. Overall, the rates at DHM was fair. The owner realized how small of a move job it was and adjusted the price accordingly. All of the staff we interacted with was very respectful. My reasoning for 3 of 5 stars is lack of communication regarding the show time, being late which caused us to sit in an empty condo for 2 hours. And appearance...one showed up and did the move with a doo rag, wife beater tank top, shorts sagged with some slides on. I can't recommend these guys enough! I didn't get both their names but think one of my movers was named Vance. They moved me from a townhome to a 3rd floor apartment and just had tons of problems outside of their control like having to move their truck out of the alley for a garbage truck and issues with the reserved elevator at my new place getting taken and they were super professional and hustling the entire time. I recently used Hall Brothers to move apartments across town, from one 2nd floor unit to another that is around the back of the building and upstairs, aka nightmare for movers. I was concerned that the drive across town and the location difficulty of my new apartment would cause me to go over the allotted amount of time and exceed my limited budget for this move. However my two movers, Norris and Ahmad, were AMAZING! They showed up on time (actually little earlier than scheduled, which was appreciated), took great care in wrapping and moving my items to ensure they arrived safely and undamaged, worked quickly and remained calm and composed the whole time despite some setbacks, such as having to move the truck twice to let cars out of my parking lot. Dave gave me a flat rate price for a move from Tampa to Fort Lauderdale. Movers showed up on time and called ahead to confirm their arrival. The two men were hard working and polite. Nothing was damaged or mishandled during the move. They arrived at the high rise apartment freight elevator in Ft. Laud. at the exact time required. When a friend recommended this company, I was relieved to know our move would be in good hands. However, that did not turn out to be the case. Even a great company can fail to meet its own standards, and in this case, they failed to meet ours. Upside: the two guys assigned to our move were courteous and professional. Downside: it was just a cross town move, no more than 10 miles, but four items were damaged. Most of it was minor: two coffee tables were nicked and one end of a white dining table had dark scuff marks all over it. How could those tables be nicked and scuffed in such a short move if they were properly wrapped and stored on the truck? The fourth item has me most upset because the company has not returned our calls about repairing it, and it's been 2 weeks. The back side of a tall book case with glass doors was ruptured, apparently from undue pressure. True, it was a cheap Ikea bookcase, but with glass doors, I thought they would have been more careful. Upside 2.0: the company sent out a guy to remedy the table scuffs and nicks and he fixed them to our satisfaction. He said he would report the need to repair the bookcase. Downside 2.0: no one returned our calls about repairing the bookcase. So Christmas came and went, with us having an empty broken bookcase in the living room and explaining to all our guests how we were let dow. No big deal. Except. That's not quality service, to blow off a customer like that. For this reason I offer two stars. I'm not a grumpy, difficult to please customer with unrealistic expectations. location was a sh** show. "Silk", head jerk in charge was told what exit to take and yet he kept passing every exit to correct his error. When I called him and told him to stop moving and let me get in front because he is eating up valuable time that I am paying for. You know what this jerk off does. Starts to scream in my ear telling me to stop screaming and let him do what he's doing. HELL NO! I get on the phone and call his "boss" David and this ignorant "person" starts to over talk me and when I tell him I am not paying for the time his mover is purposefully driving around eating time he yells and says word for word. "What you're not gonna do is tell me what I am going to do, that's what you're not gonna do. I am not the one driving so you need to watch it." Excuse you, I am paying your company so what you need to do is learn customer service! After another wasted 30 minutes of "silk" still not following my lead of driving we finally arrive. They start to unload the storage items and once again the kid was of no help. My mother then called David again and they sent another mover to replace this child. The kid was the worse he kept smirking and sitting down. At one point one of the movers asked him to bring the dolly to the truck and his lazy butt drags it to curb and stops. The other mover rolled his eyes and said man if you don't bring that dolly over here man and stop already. Finally, the replacement mover comes and drives up and sees the kid chilling in the back of the truck as the other guys roll past him with my items. As this kid gets in the truck of the guy trading places with him, he turns to my mother and is so disrespectful and says to her "I'm just trying to make money boo". Who are you talking to like that?! UNPROFESSIONAL LITTLE BOY! The new mover said man what happened and why are just sitting down? See attached picture of the laziness with no action. For four hours, I had three movers but this company thinks I should pay like I had four movers then entire time??! GTFOH with that. When it came to the finalizing the bill, these jokers thought I was going to pay over $900 dollars. Uhm, wtf, hell no. So "silk" gets on the phone to call David and he only wants to reduce the four man rate charges by an hour. Ugh no, that's not good enough you should drop it to at least the three-guy rate for the move. That's good business and make it be for four hours. The total came to $758 we said to silk that's not good enough, so he puts David on the phone. Before my mom can get an entire sentence out of her mouth, David starts to loud talk her and is very abrasive in tone. Then we said we would pay $708 as that is still too much but to show good faith, they should at least knock off the $50 for the horrible experience. Nope they did none of that. Instead, when I said I wanted to re look at the contract, silk thrust the paper into my face, to the point I thought my mother was going to leap across the counter at him for shoving papers in her daughters face. It was within an inch of my nose just to give you perspective. He instantly through a child-like tantrum talking about this is a good deal. He even said listen next time just call me directly so I can move you. LMAO this is not a good deal, especially when I had movers just move me four months prior with less help and they had to carry everything by hand and no elevator up and down three flights of stairs, which was cheaper and took less time. So, David and silk explain that one to me?!! The only professional people were Fred and Michael. At the end Fred confided in me stating the kid had stopped moving after an hour because instead of sliding the containers down the stairs he kept lifting them and exerting all of his energy out. He said there is a system to moving and he just doesn't want to listen to us so he got burnt out in the first hour. So one of your movers admits Trativan stopped working within the first hour but you think I should still pay a four man rate?!! I will be filing a complaint with the BBB. read more

The worst experience. They arrived 2 hours late and gave me an excuse of bad weather. We tried to make it work, then the sofa did not fit on the elevator. One of the movers was really upset and with an attitude mumbling and refusing to take the sofa down the stairs. I understand it was 15 floors, but the attitude was so unprofessional. He said he had back issues and he will not take the sofa down the stairs and that he was doing this for many years. We waisted about 40 minutes back and forth discussing how to take out the sofa and they were charging by the hour of course. Worst movers ever!!! BEWARE, THEY QUOTE ONE PRICE THEN PRICE GAUGE AT THE END. The reviews recommending them are made up and all lies. Here's the truth. They came late, wanted water immediately from my kitchen because they were hot and brought none of their own. They filled up gallon size water jugs which means I pay for that on my water bill. Next, they wanted to talk about the apartment complex I was moving out of because one of them was looking for a place to move into...all of this instead of moving...on an hourly rate charge, I think not. The teen with them was walking like a snail and only picking up one very small item at a time. After 30 minutes they wanted to take a break on an hourly move being charged to me. My items were fully packed with the couch wrapped and the bed taken apart and broken down. All items were in a direct line, sitting at the front door in one room so literally all they had to do was load the truck...at best a 1.5 hour load time took 3 hours because of the multiple breaks and constant whining from grown*ss manbabies. It only go worse from here and to finish off this horrible experience they charged me $300 dollars more than the quote although they had waisted time on the move. Do your moves yourself instead of using them even if you have to do it in two different days it would save you money and headaches. BEWARE!!! read more

I recently hired Hall Brothers and I had a wonderful experience. I was fortunate enough to get Ernest and Lance as my movers and they were phenomenal. Despite first down pouring rain then extreme heat, they moved extremely quickly paying attention to the time to make my move very efficient. They were very friendly and they cracked jokes anywhere they could which was welcome as we all know how stressful moving can be. They were extremely honest too. I had moved a mirror that had a piece of it broken off and Ernest pulled it off the truck and came straight to me to tell me he looked for the broken piece on the truck but couldn't find it. I reassured him it was already broken but I really appreciated him asking. And then I had set down some cash amongst my things for a tip for them but in my clutter of boxes I couldn't find it so Lance and Ernest helped me look and when Lance found it he told me he found it but he didn't want to touch it himself. They may appear cheaper than other movers. But they are slower, too. Our move-in was only a 2-hr job; but it took them had a day to love us out. They take LONG TIME to wrap everything. I called Hall Brothers moving to move my house to a storage place & an apartment. This was to include moving a safe & junk removal. I sent pictures of both junk pile & safe, and a detailed list of all things to be moved, and Hall brothers assured me everything would be taken care of. I called back the day before the move, to ensure everything would be in place. I was assured everything was fine. Move day came, they showed up prepared to move a house to one location. "didn't have enough guys" to move the safe, "didn't have a junk truck" to move junk. EVERYTHING COST MORE THAN ADVERTISED. I was told that the guy running the crew would come back "the next day and move the safe & the junk for cash" The guy running the crew was the brother of the guy who runs the company. This is bait and switch. I did not get what I contracted for, my move is incomplete & it cost me double to not get the job done. Avoid these guys like the plague. read more

I had a small moving job - I needed to get a large heavy piece of furniture I purchased on Craigslist moved from a local home to a third-floor apartment about 7 miles away. A few highly-rated larger movers on Yelp gave me some really expensive quotes, since I think the job was too small to be worth their time. However, one of them was helpful enough to refer me to Demetrice Hall, the owner at Hall Brothers Moving. Demetrice was very courteous to me on the phone and we were able to agree on a reasonable price. He was able to do the move the following day. He arrived exactly when he said he would come. The furniture was well-protected by blankets and placed exactly where I wanted it. Demetrice and his helper got the piece up the stairs with no effort at all. Nice people, and they did a great job. I now would definitely consider doing a larger local move with them based on my experience. EDIT: I now have information from two subsequent local moves - close friends used them at our recommendation to move a household a couple miles away, and I moved an apartment's-full about 15 miles away. I hate moving more then anything else in the world. There is no other thing that stresses me out on the same level that having to pack up my junk and schelp it around creates. If I had the choice to have a root canal, followed by a pap smear, then being thrown out of an airplane OR move 5 minutes down the street...well we know which option I would pick. So why do I use movers. Because I don't want to help my friend's move either. Save the money that you would have spent on "pizza and beer" and spend it on movers instead of guilt tripping your friends into doing your menil, physical labor for you. One company had the highest ratings and seemed legit, another mover seemed geared towards more corporate relocation types of moves, and then there was Hall Brothers that seemed more of a local, small operation. Well I'm glad that I ended up going with Hall Brothers. Their pricing was reasonable and they gave me a great discounted rate for referring to their angie's list/yelp ads. I've read the horror stories of people booking movers and then the day comes around and no one shows up. With Hall Brothers, they called the day before to confirm the move and time. The guys showed up on time and were professional and had upbeat, positive attitudes that made the ordeal a little less horrible. They made the effort to make sure my furniture wasn't damaged but were still fast and efficient. I scheduled Hall Brothers for my move on 10/04/2021. When I called, the person I spoke with did not mention that the movers do not carry any tools with them to disassemble furniture. When they arrived, everything was going well until my bedframe needed to be disassembled in order to put it in the truck. They had no tools and asked me for a screwdriver. Then they stated they have never seen a bedframe like this and didn't have the tools to disassemble it. I had to call my friend's husband to come over and bring his tools. What should have been a move under 3 hours took 4 1/2 hours because they did not state that they had no tools upfront and I had to get someone else to do it. Also, they brought in a ton of blankets into the apartment to cover furniture, but didn't cover any of my furniture and I had scratches and damage on my tv stand, small dresser, etc. There is no indication on their website that their movers do not carry any tools with them and it was not told to me when I scheduled them. If I had known, I would have booked someone else as I have moved 5 times in the past five years and each mover I used always had tools and were able to disassemble and reassemble the furniture and also use the blankets to cover the furniture to keep it from being damaged. Will never use this service again and recommend that if you have furniture that needs to be disassembled, go with another service read more
