No response to portal messages; failure to send RXs to pharmacies; failure to send orders to facilities that have to perform them; patient can never get anyone on the phone to talk to; phones are routed to a boiler room halfway around the world where no one speaks English; a full HALF of the physicians on staff have quit in the last five years, like rats fleeing a sinking ship, and have not been replaced; rudeness abounds; neither you nor your baby will be in good hands with this practice. Since Halifax OBGYN merged with Advent their customer service has taken a nose dive. They coded my lab work incorrectly therefore the bill was sent to me to pay instead of the insurance. The insurance company told me what they needed to do in order for them to pay, but no one has reached out. read more

Christie was the ultrasound tech, and was very kind and cheerful. Dr Esquivel took her time to review my chart, listened to what I had to say and asked follow up questions. I am 32 weeks and there have been 3 appointments now I have left crying because of lack of consideration or just plain rude bedside manners from both doctors and midwives. For their clientele being women and pregnant women, they do not have patience, empathy, or attention to detail. There were times I had to tell MY doctor about my health history with a medication that I was no longer taking while pregnant, it was written on my chart in front of them. That is simply just not reading my chart. Yesterday I think I had 4 min with the doctor. 4 min that were rushed, she rattled off questions together and I couldn't even answer separately. At the end, she said "okay we'll see you every two weeks now" to which I said "I have been coming every two weeks". Again that is simply not reading my chart. Offers no information on my pregnancy, it is up to me to ask questions. She offers zero conversation. she left the room with a " bye thank you for coming. good to see you. check out is to your right." and shut the door behind her while I could not get a word out before she left. A midwife rushed me through my appointment. I laid on the exam table to listen to the baby's heart beat. Again I am 32 weeks, I am moving a little slow trying to lift up my shirt. she starts tapping my knee telling me to relax it "you can relax this now". I asked her to give me a minute while I get situated. she gives me an attitude, holds her hands up and says "oh. oh well okay. okay fine" I said "I'm sorry, I am a little pregnant I just need some patience" she goes "well alright alright, (in a *okay calm down* tone) we wouldn't want to get in your way". I am uncomfortable with these doctors delivering my baby simply because none have made an effort to at the very least pretend to get to know me and my pregnancy. And this is just the doctors. Lack of attention to detail from the front desk as well (typos on address, giving misinformation about delivery location), but at least they are nice and try to be helpful. The friendliest person in that office is who you see on the way out to make the next appointment. TL;DR YOU ARE TREATED LIKE A FACELESS NUMBER HERE. Front desk is normally good. Hit or miss. The doctor I had lacks empathy, bedside manner, general manners, and lacks acceptance when she is wrong. I had long wait times (1 hour or more) for a 4 min visit. She did not ask me about how I am or if I had any questions to ask, I did not even get a hello. I got a snooty rude attitude and when I left I requested a new doc and yes I did say f* this. From the start she was never approachable never gave guidance on pregnancy. When I was able to ask questions she was short and took it offensive. I had heard such great things. But ended up in disappointment. read more

This place should be closed for multiple reasons such as pre-paying for labor and delivery when your in your first trimester prior figuring out where you are in your insurance, unprofessionalism from billing department and their admin, refusing to bill Medicaid, inability to follow CMS standards / guidelines. If experience any of these issues and then some, please report an appeal / grievance to your insurance, Florida Dept. of Health, Florida Dept. of Agriculture, Florida Attorney General, and CMS (Center for Medicare/ Medicaid) who regulates all facilities/ insurances federally. Also, look for other places that don't consider you a cash cow. My suggestion is Advent Health / Winnie Palmer or anyone else with decency / professionalism. After being told by the nurse "you're the father, why wouldn't you be allowed back with your wife", I was allowed back for every one of her visits. Then in the last month of my wife's pregnancy I was told by the office manager (Debbie) that I am no longer allowed to go back with my wife. She said it's at the physicians request yet the physician and RN were not available to speak to me. The office manager was rude, displayed no ability to handle any adverse situation, or use common sense. She is a typical gatekeeper that abuses the little power she has in her pathetic life. She then went back and forth on the reasons why I was not going to be let in the back. Saying that the office had a policy due to covid and/or the physician specifically did not want me back there. As I write this review, Volusia county is at the lowest covid alert level (10 people for every 100,000). I'm still not quite sure if it's the office policy that they decided to implement in the last month of my wife's pregnancy or if the physician does not want me back there because of some unknown reason. I would not recommend this OB nor this office to any fathers that want to be involved in their wife's pregnancy. I'm pretty confident after speaking with my wife it's 100% the office. Uneducated people that obtain a small amount of power in our society affect not only the patients but the physicians in the office. Dr. Carbiener is totally amazing! What a professional, knowledge, sensitive, and attentive physician! I am so happy to have her for my gynecologist. She is very approachable and wiling to answer your questions without making you feel like an idiot or rushed. I have had nothing but stellar experiences with the friendly,helpful staff and the office is well appointed and comfortable. I recently moved to Florida and scheduled an appointment to see Dr. Zachary Tyser in October for an IUD removal. My records got sent over from my previous doctor but when it came time for Dr. Tyser to see me, he was unprepared to do the removal and explained to me that the tools were not ready. I found it unprofessional, but he assured me he would fit me in the following Friday and have everything ready. I came in that Friday morning, Dr. Tyser came in after me which seemed odd and the nurse (who never introduced herself) was wearing jeans and a t-shirt, which I have never witnessed. Before the procedure, I asked a few questions and was met with annoyance but I decided to continue with the appointment. The nurse walked in without knocking 2x and the doctor was very hostile during this procedure. During the procedure, Dr. Tyser let me know he would be administering local anesthesia. He then told me he would have to give me more of this anesthesia and once he did that my heart started racing and my anxiety ramped up. I was having a hard time breathing and I got dizzy. During this, he pulled out the IUD and left the room. The way he treated me left me feeling VIOLATED. The nurse seemed shocked when I asked if I should be feeling the way I did, got me water, and proceeded to let me leave even after I protested that I didn't feel comfortable walking or leaving the office. I walked out of there crying and feeling violated to the extreme. After a week I called the office to file a complaint (it took an additional week to reach her) and was met with hostility and severe bias from the Manager, Debbie. Instead of handling the complaint in a professional manner, Debbie shamed me and I felt VIOLATED all over again. Debbie told me that what I had experienced was not something that would happen at their office. I explained to her that I felt VIOLATED by Doctor Tyser and his nurse, and she didn't listen to me! I started going to this office when I first moved to Daytona about 2.5 years ago. I really liked the doctor but the organization of the front desk doesn't make it worth it to me. I was once told from the doctor to call in when I needed a refill on a prescription and so I did. It took 2 weeks to finally get through to the doctor to get my prescription. Today I had an appointment set and wasn't called back until an hour after my appointment. I sat in the exam room for another 30 minutes. After being able to hear the conversation of the doctor and another patient in the other room I felt extremely uneasy and got dressed and left. When I started to leave that's when the doctor chased me with my chart and asked for 10 more minutes to wait. But I had to leave for work. The doctor scribbled something on my chart in front of me and walked away annoyed without as much as an apology. I really did like going to this office at first but after so much complications I will have to find somewhere else to go. read more

I received early prenatal care for a second pregnancy here for about 15 weeks. There are several doctors and a few midwives in this practice. I think the key to finding a provider here that meets your needs is to try a few of them out. I did not have a positive prenatal appointment with Dr. Baldwin, but Dr. Carbiener was much more attentive and concerned with my needs and concerns. A family member of mine has nothing but good things to say about Dr. Baldwin, but she saw her for gynecological reasons and not obstetrical. My disappointment with the office lies with the office staff. While they do have a wide selection of coverage and doctors, due to the large nature of the office, interaction with requests are met with a lot of bureaucracy and impersonal service. I had a request for a doctor's note to exempt me from a cholesterol test for work, and it took two phone calls with 15 minute holds times to get the correct note faxed over to the requesting party. They are also closed for lunch between 11am and 1pm, making them only available for phone calls during oddly difficult times if you work an 8a-5p job. Not the worst ob/gyn office I have been to, but I left their practice feeling underwhelmed by their model of care. read more

See anybody but Dr. Stanley. They are all wonderful. I personally usually see Dr. Cortez or the midwife Laurie Bell. Both are awesome. I just had a baby and have seen most if the doctors though. Like I said AVOID Dr Stanley. He may know his stuff (I don't know) but he is rude and seems totally unconcerned with his patients. Everyone I have spoken to agrees. Update: I have found that even the people I spoke to that thought Dr. Stanley was rude think he is an excellent doctor. He knows his stuff but I found that I need a little more in my doctors. And b y rude I didn't mean he insulted me but he didn't even look up from my chart the entire time he was in the room with me and when I asked him a question he yea, yea yea me as he walked out. So where do I begin. I will be honest Dr Bhopal was nice and had nice bedside manners. The front desk staff was pleasant. I made an appt for annual and hysterectomy consultation. I call the day of my appt to confirm time and I was made aware that my appt had been cancelled. I ask why was put on hold and a office manager advised that I had been non compliant with my appointments and lab work when I was pregnant almost 2 years ago and let me state they delivered my baby took my copay from me and money from the insurance company. they advised they sent a certified letter that I never received. Let me make an appointment beginning of sept for oct 4 and never called to advise we have to cancel appointment cause you are no longer a patient. So I took time off of work I told them and person says I should use this time to find another ob gyn and hung up. I will admit I was upset because they we very unprofessional and unsympathetic so I did raise my voice over the phone. So I decided to drive to the doctor's office. Lie #1 she says they hung up because I was cursing the person out once my husband who came with me said that is not true as he was in the room the office manager then says oh I was raising my voice which I don't deny doing because they were telling lies. Lie #2 they said I missed several appointments when I was pregnant which was documented on their records that I only missed one which I called the office week before appt as I was out of town on family emergency as my son who is autistic had an issue I had to deal with in south Florida and I was advised my office when I called it was ok to reschule for the next month. Lie #3 was told I missed several labs again their records show I turned in all my labs except the one that I was supposed to take in dec when I had to change appt but took immediately when I came back and again their own documentation supports that I didn't miss several labs. I understand that this is a private practice and they can drop me at any time with no reason I hate Liars. I would have been happy with hey we just decided not a good fit and we dropped instead they rather fabricate the reason. Let me be clear I understand why they dropped me. When I got back in town I started having early contractions so I went to er and followed up with ob gyn and it is funny that I now see letter when I get to the doctor that they dropped me the next day because I do auto insurance and if at any point someone is deemed a high liability we drop and that was their reason but wanted to use any other excuse so they look ethical, but what was funny I ended up having baby a week later within the time frame before they dropped me and had to handle my pregnancy anyway. The risk they weren't willing to tAke. As I play back the last visit before I delivered I saw Dr. Cortez a doctor I NEVER saw one time and he was talking very harshly to a high risk pregnant woman scolding me about missing my appointment to the point I was crying and emotional about it as I explained I had to miss the appoint which I called to cancel as I had to deal with my autistic son in south Florida (verifiable medical proof). He may have been the reason my blood pressure shot up right after as prior to speaking with him it was 122/80 and the next thing I know I in the hospital for preeclampsia. If you go Bhogal was nice and so was Esquivel but if you are pregnant and want a doctor with good beside manners stay away from Cortez. Let me state this I did not want to go back to them after they dropped me wouldn't want them to touch me with a 10 ft pole after all the lies I caught them in. Stay away!!! read more

Horrible service! They answer 1 out of every 30 calls. My wife has been in pain since the beginning of her pregnancy and her doctor , Dr. Esquivel has done nothing to better the situation. The Doctor directs her to ER every time. It has gotten ridiculous because every Doctor recommends seeing the OB and she has done nothing. The doctors spend no less than about 5 minutes in the room just basically explaing what the nurses just said. Worst front desk staff I have ever experienced, they laugh and joke at your misfortune without even trying to understand why your upset to begin with. They TRULY do not care, at all, and their actions, body language, communication, and attitude all show for it (by more than 3 separate staff members). I have heard good things about some of the doctors with Halifax OBGYN, but I couldn't review them first hand because I will NEVER return to this facility to make it beyond my experience with the front desk today. I work in the medical field, I'm in school for my graduate and I promise in my future, a recommendation to this facility will never come out of my mouth, regardless to any new management they ever proceed with. I hope no one will ever have to experience the frustration that I felt. I received text messages confirming appointments, showed at the scheduled time, and was told it would have to be rescheduled after the drive, getting off work , arranging child care, and wasting my time for such an unpleasant experience. Worst experience with an office in my life. I am 27 weeks pregnant and have only been seeing Dr. Esquival. I missed my July appt and rescheduled it for August 1st and due to so much going on in my life, forgot about the appt. I had a 2nd appt scheduled for the end of August for an ultrasound and was told by the person on the phone I could just go to that appt. In the mail today on August 7th I got a letter saying I was fired as a patient. At 27 weeks pregnant! that's more than half way through my pregnancy. Of course I was upset on the phone, what pregnant person goin through all this plus so much going on at home wouldn't be? I was on the phone with the office manager and she kept saying oh well, there's nothing I can do for you. I said I think I should talk to a lawyer about all this and she hung up on me. I called back and she claimed, she told me she was "going to hang up on me." which is completely false, she heard the word lawyer, and hung up on me. Then when I called back and asked her why she hung up on me she denied it and had her assistant get on the phone to "vouch" for her and then she says, "I am going to hang up on you, did you hear that?" There names are Janet and Debbie. Completely unprofessional, rude, uncaring, nasty. If you miss ONE appt at this office due to an emergency or any other life crises, be prepared to be fired as a patient no matter how far along you are. Even though the law states that if you are pregnant within a certain time frame of delivery in "continuity of care" it can be ILLEGAL to fire a patient. Not only that, but they do not care about what happens to you as a patient or your child. If you as an office can just fire patients, without ANY notice, and refuse to send a copy of the policy, then I believe it is 100 % about the money and discrimination. This place just wants your money. They do not care about the patient's needs. There was only one amazing person who works here and I pray she goes tot work somewhere else and that's the ultrasound technician. Read the other reviews, patients being treated like crap after 18 years and delivering all their children through here, come on. That's just insanity. I do plan on writing emails regarding the unprofessional-ism of the office manager Debbie and her OB coordinator Janet. How they can hang up on me, talk down to me, refuse me to see their policy that I supposedly signed, and taunt me with snarky comments before they hang up on me. How sick to do this to a pregnant person just 13 weeks before she is supposed to deliver. Then they said we'll pass you off to someone we know and we'll fax your records over. It is all about money, that appt could've gone to someone that has money and you messed it up for them. Greed over actually caring. The dr's are the one's who say, well fire this patient for missing 2 appointments even though she is due to deliver in less than 13 weeks. That's literally like 6 more apointments that I have to go start over from scratch from. You know what though, I am glad. I want an office I can share my pictures, baby's life, and experience with. Not some cold hearted doctor who can say fire this OB patient for missing a couple appointments even though she is due in less than 3 months. I am glad she will not be the one touching me or my baby. Absolutely horrific experience with the staff. The person who manages the appointments is shockingly rude. First, she scheduled me for a test I couldn't take, and didn't tell me what test she'd scheduled me for, so after being there, I had to leave and schedule again for weeks later when I'm in pain. She wouldn't even check times to see if we could hurry my appointment after my pain worsened tenfold. And the nurse never called me back. And then I get a call saying that the test I did do was screwed up by "the lab" (I don't believe this for a second), and now I have to come back in to re-do this test, nevermind that I'm a rape survivor and it's traumatic for me. The person on the phone actually got mad at me when I said I "wasn't happy" that I had to redo the test, acting like she was doing me a completely unnecessary favor by even telling me rather than just surprising me with this traumatic test the next time I came in. I can't believe that this place hasn't fired these idiots. Dr. Carbiener is great and very knowledgeable about abuse survivors, but it isn't worth it to deal with her abusive, nasty staff. If you have a problem, go elsewhere. If you're fine, this is probably a fine place. read more

Dr. Pamela Carbiener is one of the best doctors I have ever seen and with my medical history I have seen many. I was given her name when some unforeseen changes happened with one of my specialists that I have been with for 18 years. I was pregnant with my fourth son and very scared. This issue could have meant serious problems for me and my baby. Dr. Carbiener didn't even know me and still heard my situation and immediately got me in to see her the following day! She has been nothing short of amazing. She is compassionate, caring, very smart and knowledgeable. She has a heart of gold and the best bedside manner I have ever had. She has been a God send to myself and my family. I can't say enough great things about her. It takes a very special person to do the things that she does and I am blessed to have had her. I would recommend her to anyone who is pregnant or needs care that fall under her scope of specialties. I can't thank her enough! The only downfall to this practice is the insurance biller, Carol. She is not a very nice person and has caused me a lot of stress and anxiety. The office Administrator, Deb (whom I have never personally met myself but have spoken to twice) was also extremely rude and both very in compassionate. It's a shame that such an amazing practice has people who are so uncaring and trying to hurt patients, especially who are facing extreme circumstances. Doctor Baldwin delivered me because My doctor was out of town when I went into labor and found her to be very nice. This was my first baby and feel that all my questions were answered. It is definitely a place with top notch equipment, and the doctors seem to be nice & caring. However, I was told I needed 3 appointments for something of which I don't show signs of, nor have a diagnosis, which was not covered by insurance. The nurse had called me telling me that my health was in danger, and baby may have defects so they have to do these things. I thought the bedside manner of the nurse was less than to be desire, but that is beside the point. Because, there was no diagnosis or red flags, in any of my appointments. I asked if I had to do these appointments, I was told no. An answer was not given when asked how much it would cost. I said I did not want to do these appointments but I would be happy to do a screening testing just to quintiple-check any issue. Mind you, this was something that was extremely rare, not like GD or blood pressure. Halifax OBGYN then dropped me at 30 weeks, meaning I was in my 3rd trimester and it is hard to find doctors who will take me. My concern with the extra appointments, is that Halifax OBGYN did not seem to be concerned whether 1) I had a diagnosis 2) whether I ever got a diagnosis...but they dropped me. If I had known if it was a question of liability, I may have done them, but why pay for extra appointments & time when you don't have any symptoms, family history, diagnosis? After asking around, I have discovered that many more have had this same thing happen to them, at this same OBGYN, for things that they are not diagnosed with. read more
