Barely and with a nasty shrug and scowl, he grunted about a 20min wait as he was busy with a repair - I'd only asked to buy a chain and 2 nuts - about 20sec of work! As I pressed him, one at a time 3 other customers entered, HE STOPPED TO SERVE THEM each immediately - with a cheerful smile. In between, I received my products as he could not deny he was now generally at his counter. Desperate to get out, I did not check the receipt: he had, quoted £9 then overcharged me BY £10.00!! Poor experiences like this are why I prefer to shop as much as possible online, and I give one star as I don't think I could give zero.

They have loads of bike lights and bike light sets, helmets, trainers, and claustrophobic 1 piece bike suits. I was referred on to a cycle training provider after a good chat with one of the salesmen who was extremely knowledgable. This is not the cheapest store around (bike lights are twice what they would be in Argos) but you feel happy to helped to be in a such a bike positive environment.

But I left my bike in for a service yesterday, taking advantage of the half-price offer for January, only to be told that they refused to work on it due to a bit of wear on the frame caused by the rubbing of a pannier - this was on a bike I bought brand new from them just two years ago! They refused to work on it, refused to consider a warranty issue, refused to discuss any other options. I found myself many miles out of my way, with a sticky brake and a seat that sunk lower and lower and dropped out from under me. I dragged my fold up bike on to the nearest bus and hoped I wouldn't have to RETURN HOME. I had no money, just the dim hope I'd find the cycle shop I had seen in passing. I found The Cyclestore and told them my problem. They fixed my seat and checked my brake free of charge in a display of kindness and proficiency. I was able to continue my ride. I am forever grateful to The Cyclestore for helping me without expecting anything in return.
