Plus: it's a car park, so who cares? £5.50 all day during the week, £3 all day on Saturday, £1 an hour Monday - Saturday, £1 all day Sunday. It's about a five minute walk from the shopping, but I think the extra distance is well worth it to not face £12 in parking fees from NCP. The only real downside is the fact that Total Parking doesn't stay open very late. It closes between 7pm and 9pm depending on the day, so check with them before you park up.

I work pretty close so end up coming here to buy cheap clothes in Peacocks or New Look, or to pick up a DVD from Asda. There's a Costa Coffee where you can have a lunchtime latte, or get a sarnie deal at the Boots. There's a good sized TK Maxx too (I love TK Maxx in spite of its pro-knife tendencies). I'll admit the parking is a nightmare a lot of the time - the layout at the entrance is a bit stoopid, but parking in the city centre's even less appealing to me : )

Crown point is a retail park on the edge of Leeds city centre which continues to just get bigger…read moreand better. So many new stores have been added recently it now boost and impressive 18 stores which include Argos, next, boots, currys, comet and T K Maxx. Its a great alternative to the city centre as Crown Point offers over 800 free parking spaces for its customers. Disabled and mother and baby parking spaces available too.

It's a funny thing to write a review of a shopping centre, but since my last visit to The Light, I…read morerealised I was indeed a fan. Whilst it's of course handy to review the individual shops, giving an overview of these places is not without use. It's not large, it's not bustling per se, but it's got some real gems within and for that it deserves a mention. One of my favourite indie coffee shops, La Bottega Milanese, is housed inside and it's well worth stopping by for a pick me up. Not only do they have great coffee, but plentiful and delicious bites too. You'll also find some lovely shops, including Fabrication and Joy, both of which are fab for a browse. (More on those individually.) As far as shopping centres go, I do enjoy the fact it has a pleasant mix of independents and chains, although I can't say I visit for Cafe Rouge or Starbucks all that often. I've long intended upon eating at Franco's, since trying a bite of their pizza at Epernay some time ago, so expect some words on there soon. I'm sad that Salt's had to leave the place, but I hear they're still online if you're hankering for some of their delicious fare. All in all, it'll take you perhaps a few minutes to wander through, but it's a gorgeous building and well worth investigating. They've some kind of discount club, sometimes do events, and are yet another location in Leeds that gives us the shopping prowess we have.

As shopping centres go, an amble through The Light is a considerably pleasant experience. The very…read morehigh glass ceiling makes for a very light and airy space (hence the name), with an almost monumental feel when descending the escalator onto the ground floor. The Light doesn't boast a huge range of shops, but is does manage to fit in a cinema, hotel and gym. Like most shopping centres, the shops are all chain stores, though of a more up market ilk that those of nearby St. John's or the Merrion Centre. Due to the lack of independent retailers, bars and eateries the Light definitely lacks character in its offering, but its character lies in the huge towering space within, and the use of what were once exterior walls and windows of neighbouring buildings in its slick interior. If you seek a tranquil shopping experience, fancy a Nando's, a trip to Vue, or simply want to take a short cut slicing off the corner between Albion Street and the Headrow, a walk through The Light can bring a moment of calm amongst the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

For starters, it's pretty hard to get to if you're either not a driver or not used to the Leeds one-way system. We actually went around the city loop a few times trying to figure out how to get to the right road in. The actual amount of spaces seems good -- if nothing else, savvier drivers will have found the cheaper spaces in the city, so you can usually expect a spot given the extortionate rates. I think we did a two hour trip and that was a tenner. A whole ten pounds for a few hours -- I'm sure that ought to be illegal. As far as safety goes, you're right near the bus station where it can get a bit dodgy, but it seemed legit. Paying and sorting the ticket was simple enough too. The main bonus? It was there I spotted the poster for the market delivery service that I now use. So, silver linings, and all that.

My main reason for this is regarding a seriously upsetting act of…read moredisrespect and inconsiderate attitude and manner towards a young adult with special needs/disabilities ever expected from a company, that had to be reported for Disability discrimination. One of my adult daughters was also the victim of obvious gender discrimination, being belittled, threatened to be removed by the police, lied to and allowed to be left stranded outside one of their places of business after she informed them she did not know the area. When all she did was go to pick up a vehicle that had been stolen and recovered via the police, that they refused to release keeping it another day adding to the amount to pay. So they deserve no stars for all this... please note this review was refused submitting without leaving a star rating!
