The person who was doing the puncture asked me to go with him to the workshop area. Shows me the tyre and states, is that TURNBULLS work when he saw the plug fitted. I said no, i fitted the plug 6 months prior. He runs his fingers through loose rubber shavings and states the car has been running on its rim and the tyre is dangerous so cant fit a plug. I know the loose shavings came from me when i was repairing the tyre with a plug. The hole has to be roughened up prior to inserting the plug.. I had informed another member of staff to tell the guy working on the tyre (cant call him a fitter) to put 33 pounds pressure in the tyre. I had also said to Andrew (the owner) that i cant run a tyre flat, sensors warn me when pressure drops. When i started to reverse the rear left tyre warning light was on. The car can also tell me tyre pressures. front left which he had checked for leak also had 38 lbs a square inch, rear left had 26 lbs a square inch, not 33lbs as requested. The work and diagnostics was so sub standard that when i got home i blew a tyre up myself and deflated the other as the pressure was over excessive and checked all wheel nuts. Overexcessive pressure can cause an accident when cornering as theres less rubber on the road surface.Incidently i thought i would like to mention that i have worked as a mechanic most of my life and also done mots and furthermore my car only two day prior had just had its mot which passed. Can only assume there trying to sell extra tyres before xmas. My tyre which was only half worn could have been sold of as a part worn tyre which is a win win, well for them anyway, not me.. Felt it was a fairer business when Andrews father had it in the old place. DEFINATELY a bad experience for me. I will repair the tyre myself, another plug should do it. With tyre pressure being to high on the front left made the car dangerous when i left the garage. If the rear tyre was much less than it was (26 lbs) it could have come away from the rim when cornering. How hard is it to blow a tyre up to the correct pressure? UPDATE!--have checked front left tyre and at the plug repair , using a little water located small leak at plug (bubbles). Fitted another plug alongside and rechecked, leak stopped! on rear found a screw nail in tyre, removed screw with pliers and inserted plug, tested with water, no problem, all leaks repaired and pressure maintained. Would advise drivers to purchase a plug repair kit from e bay and a small electric pump from Home Bargains for a fiver and your independant.Majority of repairs can be done with the wheel on the car. Repairing a puncture is not a difficult job (well for most people). Abbotsinch would rather sell you a new tyre. Larger premises equates more rent to pay so sales staff must push tyre sales to generate the extra cash needed for the extra rent. If your female dont think about it. They will look at you as an easy target. Dont be tempted to get the tracking done either (another gimmick) 4x4 s climb mountains and dont require tracking reset. With reference to Jack Austins negative review whom i do not know i would like to point out that his review was inserted because he survived the accident. Dead people dont write reviews!

Highly Recommended…read more I like most, especially female, was sceptical when using garages to put my car through for work or an MOT. I read a review for FLORIDA MOT CENTRE and decided to give them a call. The staff was very friendly and I decided to proceed. The car went through the MOT all be it work was required, I was very, very impressed at the customer service at this centre. I was talked through my MOT and what was happening and why. I was shown possible points on the car that would require work done in the future. I was also given hints on how to treat the car (being an RX8) things that I never knew and was also given I website for any information I would ever need. I will be recommending this garage to all my friends in the local area, professional, friendly and very knowledgeable! I also found their prices fair on MOT and other works! Now I know I have a place that is upfront and honest about all their works and why! I will be using this garage here on!

I am posting this review in the hope that someone else does not have the same experience with this…read morebusiness that I did. I purchased a car from Great Western Motor Company at the end of November 2013. A condition of purchase was that I asked them to freshly MOT the car for me so I knew it was safe for me and my partner to drive. I do a lot of driving for work and frequently have colleagues and family members in the car, so a safe reliable car is a must for me. On purchasing the car I was assured it had passed its MOT with no advisories. I asked to see the paperwork but I was told it was in the post to the DVLA. They told me it was MOT'd by a local garage in Anniesland but didn't give me the name of the garage. I drive with my sales receipt and no V5 as this, I was told, was with the DVLA so the private plates from the previous owner could get swapped over. I accepted this as a reasonable explanation. I noticed after having the car for a week that it was a bit sluggish, and did not coast like my previous cars and decelerated very quickly when in gear and not using the brakes. When I had the time available a week or so later I took the car to a trusted mechanic in Prestonpans near where I live in East Lothian and he informed me that the front brakes were around 50% seized and had clearly been like that for a lot longer than a few weeks, as the pads were worn down to practically nothing. He said the car would never have passed an MOT at the end of November, and went so far to say that he would stand in a court of law and stake his reputation on it. He is a registered MOT station and a car dealer, as well as an expert on the type of car I purchased (I took it to him as he has owned several of these cars himself and the owners club recommended him). As Christmas was looming I needed the car repaired quickly so I called Great Western Motors to complain and their attitude was astonishing. They refused to tell me who had MOT'd the car, told me they were refunding my money and taking the car back, and told me I was "at it" and accused the mechanic of colluding with me. I told them I did not want a refund - I had bought the car because I liked it, I still liked it and all I wanted to know was who MOT'd the car so I could inform VOSA. At this point I started receiving an increasingly bizarre and offensive stream of text messages from the salesman, details of which I will leave out of this review as they are so odd it may stretch the comprehension of even the most open minded individual. I had been driving children, colleagues and my partner around in a dangerous car because of either the MOT station or Great Western Motor Company and I wanted answers. I had not received the paperwork for the car and asked them to put this in the mail immediately as they had it sitting in the office and hadn't sent it on to me. When all was said and done the salesman called me and promised me (I emphasise the work promise at this point) that he would pay part of the £486 it was going to cost me to replace the brake calipers and discs. He asked me to give him the weekend to put this right. He never contacted me again. This was just before Christmas. I received the paperwork a couple of days later. Lo and behold, they had lied to me and the car wasn't even MOT'd in November - it was MOT'd in September and they had taken me for a ride and sold me an unsafe, un-MOT'd car when they said they had freshly MOT'd it with no advisories. These people took £2995 from me and lied to my face. Three weeks passed and it was the middle of January when I contacted them again, on the off chance they had a busy festive period and asked if I could have something towards the cost of the brake calipers and discs - at this point anything was better than nothing, and I thought they could at least redeem themselves in some small way. I then got a laughable offer to buy the car back as they think they had "undersold" it to me (bear in mind this is a used car dealership, so underselling something is a completely ridiculous assertion). I have spent money rust proofing the car and putting the brakes right by this point and bought accessories for it so I simply refused to deal with them a second longer. I am now seeking redress through Trading Standards and the small claims court. Avoid these people at all costs. I just hope they do not do the same to someone else and they end up taking their family out in a death trap.
