So this is the third of the 'Ni Hao' restaurants in Hamburg: large, modern, and catering to the affluent Chinese community. We were recommended this place for supposedly the best food of the three.
A modern, large place, though surprisingly empty for a Saturday evening. There are separate rooms for functions and private groups.
Service was friendly, when available, but very unattentive; hard to get their attention despite only a few tables being occupied at all, and spilled sauces etc. were not cleaned between courses.
Prices are high, but so are portion sizes: if you want a varied sampling of their cooking, either go for a set menu (unfortunately minimum 2 people) or come with a large group so you can assemble enough dishes: It is Chinese cooking, so if you order a starter of cold pork belly, it will be just that, slices of cold pork belly.
so an "OK" rating, with some cave-ats - I did prefer the sister original restaurant Ni Hao in Wandsbek. read more
