While the property itself is beautiful and the woman who checked us in was warm and welcoming, our stay unfortunately ended on a very negative note. We had to check out at 3:40 a.m. for an early flight and went to bed early. The room next door was hosting a loud party with multiple people, and we could clearly hear laughing and shouting through the walls. Just after midnight, I called the front desk and explained that we had an early flight and couldn't sleep due to the noise. Brittany assured me she would send security. However, the noise continued without any change, and it never sounded as though security approached the room. At 12:53 a.m., when the noise grew even louder, I called again. This time I was told that security "did not believe it was a disturbance." At that point, I genuinely felt as though the resort was prioritizing the enjoyment of the party next door over our ability to rest--despite a clear request for assistance and the fact that we needed to be up in just three hours for a cross-country flight. I again explained what we were hearing and asked that someone please address the issue. Finally, at 1:04 a.m., security broke up the party. By then, it was extremely difficult to fall asleep before our 3:00 a.m. alarm, leaving us exhausted for a long travel day. When we checked out this morning, the front desk associate Effrain printed our receipt but did not ask how our stay was or thank us for visiting. When I mentioned this, he stated that it was "early in the morning" for him. I explained the situation from the night before, and he replied that he didn't know anything about it but could "write it in a report." When we asked how to contact a manager, he said we could email but did not have an email address to provide, stating that he had only been there three months. We came to Ponte Vedra to attend my company's executive Christmas party and hoped for a relaxing weekend. While the resort is undeniably beautiful, the lack of responsiveness to a legitimate noise disturbance--combined with dismissive customer service at checkout--left us extremely disappointed, especially at this price point. We truly wish our experience had matched the reputation and cost of the resort.

We arrived at the Ritz too late for dinner anywhere but the lobby bar. Enjoyed several sushi rolls with drinks, each one imaginative fresh and tasty. But some event had recently let out and the lobby bar got crowded and LOUD. I mean over 100db loud (measured). That's the equivalent of enjoying sushi while jackhammers are crushing concrete all around you. Whoa! Ocean front one bedroom suite - Plush, large, comfortable. Curtains blocked most light, but the bright morning sun still peeked in around the edges. Comfortable bed and plenty cold for good sleeping. Two huge TVs. While the only premium feed provided is Netflix, the cable box had been lowered behind the TV in the living room such that it was simple to plug in your own device. If this is by design, kudos to the Ritz. If this was accidental, we feel very fortunate. Awesome to have a second half bath, wish that was an option at more hotels. The main bath, very roomy, with a huge dressing area, was a little odd in that, while there was a door to the toilet, there was no door to the tub/shower. Not a big deal, as it was around a corner providing a little privacy, it's still a weak design decision. Huge balcony with ocean front views that go on forever. A few chairs and a table, but a bit under furnished. Still quite a treat for the view, breeze and privacy. Never even slightly tempted to leave the property during our stay. Over a 4 night stay, we visited nearly every bar and restaurant option, and never felt like we were having to "make do". Pool - the kiddie pool was closed for renovations, so children took over the main pool all day. If you're not a tolerant direct parent, you're not gonna get in that water, if you know what I mean. Overall the pool and chairs were pretty crowded, so almost worth the premium to have rented a cabana for 8-2 one day. Lots more room and comfort, both lounge chairs and couch seating, TV, snacks and drinks.

We were exhausted from a short night of sleep and delayed plane ride --just wanted to get to our room. We had to check on the status twice. Not what we expected!! The second person we talked to was very friendly and apologetic. They said they would comp us for the trouble by reducing the daily charge but I never saw this on my bill. This was disappointing. I was surprised they said they would do that so maybe they tried but weren't allowed. Who knows! The rooms were fine - nothing fancy and a bit outdated. Everything was very clean tho. And the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the nice coffee station and fire table on our patio. The restaurants they have are pretty good. We really enjoyed getting room service - much easier with our pup. We stopped by the gym to fill up our water bottles and they have a great water station and fruit bowls. All of the staff we interacted with were lovely and friendly. They were happy to give us tips about the area and recommendations too. The location is unbeatable- right on the beach. We enjoyed morning walks to see the sunrise. And it's close to Fernandina Beach which was such a charming area. We would def stay here again!!!!

Our friends and family also joined us and we booked 4 rooms including suites. The resort had a new owner when we initially visited in 2021 and several changes were to be made. The place could be really nice but it has taken its toll over the past 3 years. The owner has not done any upgrades as were promised. The furniture is falling apart and you can't even sit on it with having flakes left on your clothing. The floors and carpet in the main lobby are dirty and stained. The fish tank up front as well as the large koi pond are not cleaned and the poor fish inside struggle for air. There is black gunk and mold all over the glass, thick and hanging from the filters. You can't enjoy the pool because it is not cleaned and there are tons of bugs. It was so bad they even closed the pool several days. The mosquitoes and flying bugs outside are so abundant that you can't even enjoy the outdoors. So much for a relaxing water vacation! Trees were not trimmed and there were several overgrown areas which I feel contributed to the excess amount of bugs. If you walked around outside you were attacked by swarms of bugs. You literally had to hold your breath when walking thru them or you would swallow some. NASTY! The rooms were pretty clean overall but in poor condition. Furniture needed updating and there was no table or chairs in our suite. Just a bed and couch. The electrical outlets kept popping making it difficult to plug anything in. It is sad that this place is in a great location but nothing is being done to make it amenable. Upon leaving we were asked if we were booking for next year. When we said no and let them know why. They didn't seem to care. So we definitely will not be back. I suggest saving your money and possibly going to another nearby location. This could take a turn for the better. But it hasn't in 3 years. Not to mention the owner was not very friendly or concerned. A final note: The AC in the main lobby and several of the rooms didn't work well and the staff thought it best to turn it off. On the way down I see the house cleaner and ask her if she had been to my room yet she said no I just got upstairs and cleaning the room on the total opposite end of the building right now I won't be to yours for another while. So I wasn't stopping her from doing her job obviously. So now it's time to go to the offfice and it's her and the mgr guy probably the owner who tf knows said that yes if I stay past 11 then I'll be charged for that night. This mf tries to tell me I don't have the right to talk to his house cleaners. lol this is America mf and I'll talk to whoever tf I want to thank you. I wasn't stopping her from doing her job of cleaning my room for the next customer and you want to charge me the extra hundred dollars for tonight????. He wants to argue so I give back my special discount card and room key and walked tf out telling them I won't ever stay here again after paying my bill from the night before that I owed like a decent human being. Moral of the story: don't piss off your customers over an hour of time especially if it doesn't affect anything that you have going on because now it just cost you thousands of dollars over the next few years!!!!!! We received another confirmation email prior to our arrival that made it clear early check-in before 3 could not be accommodated so we were careful to arrive between the check-in hours of 3-9 PM. Check-in was easy and the room was very well appointed with everything we needed. We've stayed in everything from 5-star hotels in Europe and Indonesia to very cheap motels in small towns. This hotel competes with some of the better places we have stayed. The hotel is has been renovated by the owners and matches the cute quaint vibe of the city itself, Crystal River. It is also within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the water / boat ramps which we loved. The room came with a bottle of wine and some sweet treats which we really appreciated. Especially once we learned that getting a spot for dinner on Valentines Day in the small town was pretty much impossible. Because of this we opted to get carry out, open our wine, and enjoy the dessert left in the room. As others mentioned the room was spotless, we found the decor to be current and fresh, the bathroom was stunning, and the AC and refrigerator were perfect. I immediately called guest services and they had the security guard move us to the last remaining room. He was very helpful and apologetic. We left the most exposed belongings in the room to be properly sanitized. The second room we were moved to (Room 17A) was absolutely disgusting and appeared to have never had any upkeep or care. Everything was outdated and holes were sloppily patched over. Upon doing a thorough bed bug search in this room, the mattresses in the bedrooms appeared to be okay but the one on the sofa bed had potential remnants of bed bugs. When we called guest services, we were told there were no other available rooms. My son that had been bitten by the bed bugs was very traumatized by the event and decided to sleep in the cold car rather than risking it with another mattress. Needless to say, none of us slept that first night. The manager called the next morning a little after 9am and offered us a new room (Room 13B). This was a very nice room and did not seem to have any bed bugs. The only compensation the hotel would agree to was to reimburse us for the first night and refund our resort fees (which are ridiculous considering the fact that the property is run down and has very little in the way of amenities). My sons and I ended up spending over 1/3 of our trip moving our belongings, sanitizing everything, and repeatedly washing and drying clothes to ensure that we did not bring any critters home with us. After moving to 17B on our 2nd morning, I took a drive over to 3A to make sure that we did not leave any belongings behind. I immediately noticed that the room had been completely made up, looking as though they were readying it to be rented out again. I questioned the housekeeping Manager about it and she stated that it would be illegal for them to rent the room out before having it inspected. However, it was suspicious as to why they would make up the room if it was going to be inspected. Do not stay here!
