This is SUCH a good bakery. I've never had bad food from Half-Peach and I don't think I ever will. Prices are very reasonable, service is excellent (!!!), and it's honestly such a hidden gem. I'd been buying their grab and go items from Rainbow Blossom for a while, but the other day I decided to pop into the bakery itself. Before traveling to Louisville, I found Half-Peach and am so glad I did. We eat vegan, but also prefer no oil. There was a lot of savory and sweet vegan options, and some no oil. We bought meals from the refrigerator with quiche, rice, veggies and one almost like a pot pie. They were so delicious! We also bought ginger cookies with no oil which were mind blowing! Best vegan food in Louisville!!! I ordered a custom red velvet cake and it was absolutely delicious. We also got the spicy "beef" and cabbage. And the stir fry noodles. All was outstanding. The nachos are delicious there usually too. And I have heard great things about the pizzas as well. They do vegan perfectly!! The owners and employees there are always so kind and friendly. This place is not the easiest to find (it's at the back of the mixed use building it inhabits), and has just a small storefront with the option for online ordering as well. Their selection is quite limited and on the pricier side, as well as being vegan for them, so the question is given all those priors can they deliver a level of quality to make it worth my while to drive there. A "beast" brownie had a lot of things going on-too much, really. With the cracker and some sort of marshmallow fluff inside, it was sort of like a s'more, but the flavor didn't really come together. A French toast bread pudding was an interesting creation that was heavy on fruit and smooth in flavor, albeit with a bit of an odd aftertaste. In the end I don't think this place is going to draw a ton of people who aren't in the target audience (the vegans and others with very niche dietary needs). Only a few vegan bakeries do that. But if you are someone who needs what they're offering here, you can expect satisfaction. read more

i will continue to come back here time and time again. they do not have the most diverse options of hot food but their pizzas, "shrimp" po boy, and wonton soup are our favorites. the part where half peach shines the most is their cakes and baked goods. you would not know it was vegan if no one told you. its not like whole foods vegan slop its fantastic culinary artistry. we have had her make custom cakes for our events on multiple occasions and they never miss. they always have a multitude of different cakes and baked goods i havent tried yet. it is a cute little shop with some seating if you would like to eat in. i think most people grab take out so its usually not too packed inside the dining area. there are also many quick grab and go items in the fridge and some specialty vegan items as well. i just started noticing she is stocking all the flavors of rebel cheese which was great because i did not want to spend $100 just to try it buying it through their website. read more

I ordered ahead of time a spinach and artichoke pizza, and tres leches cake. Both were very good. The place is in an office building of sorts, in the back. There are two sides, connected with an open doorway. The first side has the counter, drink and dessert fridge, and the kitchen behind the counter. My food was ready. I took it through the doorway and sat at one of the empty tables. It was clean, quiet, and pleasant. I would come here again if I lived nearby. read more

Went recently with my two kids. Girl came from the back and seemed annoyed we were there. It was our first time there and were offered no help at all. Bought $70 worth of sandwiches and cakes. Sandwiches seemed to have an unusually long shelf life listed of over 15 days. My BLT tasted fresh but my daughters both did not like their Cuban sandwiches. We bought three different cakes and they were all enjoyable. My key lime pie had a bitter aftertaste. We were considering going again but after the cold service and a few disappointing items decided it wasn't for us. read more

Busted a mission to Louisville from Lexington because the vegan options (especially for sweets) are lacking here. Arrived to half peach and was confused by the extremely small looking storefront, once you walk in you realize they have a whole other side for seating w restrooms. We were greeted warmly by a cashier and she was being trained by I assume the owner. We picked out several cakes and a few savory items from the fridge and paid and made our way out after taking a quick look around. We're gremlins and preferred to eat our cake in the car For savory we got the cashew cheese sauce and the chickn & dumplings. We also wanted wonton soup but I didn't want to wait for it to be prepared so we skipped it. Next time we will order ahead. Maybe for a pizza too! Since we were planning on getting more food from another restaurant we were trying to A stick to a budget and B not get too much to bring home. The cashew cheese is so tasty, we had it with some rice and veggies. Definitely a hit in our house and oil free, a huge plus! The chickn dumplings is heating up now but we tasted it cold and if it's that flavorful and tasty cold I can't wait to eat the rest! On to the cake, my 5 year old annihilated the Oreo cake but we were able to sneak a bite and it was very reminiscent of red velvet cake. Very moist and tasty. The carrot cake and strawberry cake both so moist and delicious. I find that most vegan places try to overcompensate with sugar to make a vegan dessert good. This wasn't like that at all. The carrot cake had walnuts and carrots and was perfectly spiced, the frosting was sweet but not cloyingly sweet. It was delightful. The strawberry cake reminded me of a good tres leches I ate many times as a kid in Los Angeles from authentic Mexican bakery. Idek if it was supposed to be like that but it was sweet and creamy and had a lovely strawberry flavor. I worry about my wallet the next time I'm in Louisville. As a Vegan this is my favorite place, I am so glad to support a business that i see as practical and ethical. Also, every time I have been there the owner has been there and you know she works so hard to deliver quality food, that is good for you. There was only one time where I was unsatisfied with one of the slices of cake I bought from the fridge, and she gladly replaced with 2 more slices of cake! I have been here many times and have tried almost everything on the menu and it is all delicious! My not-yet vegan wife's favorite is the biscoff cheesecake and the shrimp po- boy. I love the raw strawberry cheesecake and the avo Maria pizza is heavenly! (Best pizza on the menu in my opinion) There has been multiple times where me or my wife bought a lot of food and she blessed us with free cookies! To sum it all up there are a ton of options, the quality of the food is fantastic and I only hope to see them grow so more can see how awesome it is to be vegan! Ps. Wow, I love this place! I found them on instagram when I was looking for a vegan and gluten free dessert for Christmas, and their Yule log (that was available gluten free, as well as regular) caught my eye. It was delicious! The buttercream was so smooth and the cake was rich. I honestly couldn't believe it was vegan and gluten free. They offer so much here, both desserts and regular meals, that are all vegan and sound delicious! I also like that they have all their things labeled with allergens on their online ordering system, so I know exactly what I can and cannot eat. Service was awful. Clerk smirked at my family and even though we spent 75.00 (items are overpriced) continued to be rude. I never could figure out why. Freshness of savory items is questionable. My daughter's sandwich smelled off while my husband's seemed fresh. Cakes were good. Key lime cheesecake was bitter and tasted off.
