Quaint and quiet. Serene but still funky. Lots of parking and easily accessible off highway 21. Activities and games for the kids to play as well. I'm also 99% sure they offer boondocking so if that's something you're into camping/trailer wise, do look it up. Washrooms are large, clean and gender neutral. We ordered a flight and sat down at a picnic table with a crokinole board on it. We finished the flight quickly, as every single beer was excellent in it. Have you ever had a flight where you liked every single one? Of course you haven't. That's impossible. But every beer was distinct and great. We made our choices and ordered our favourites in pint form, then in tallboy and giant can form for home. We had the greatest time and I'm going to spend the whole summer lobbying my local bars to start carrying the brand.

They generally have ten to twelve beers on tap ranging from lagers, ales, sours and sometimes a stout. They are all delicious in their own right although drinking barrel aged fruited sours is an acquired taste in my book, but trust me try them and you may learn to love them. But why else should you go? There is limited food (it's a brewery not a restaurant), no TV's to watch the game, a steady stream of classic rock playing in the background, kids running around and a few dogs to greet you on the way in. To make matters worse the cell reception is awful, my wife always had a hard time reaching me. Hmm, maybe that's not all bad... What kind of place is this, anyway? It's a modern twist on an old fashioned FAMILY oriented brewery, that's what! There are plenty of board games to play, the local regulars are always happy to share some stories, and the staff are the coolest people around. They have a great Mug Club and if you are lucky you get your own hand-thrown pottery mug with your name on it! Very cool... Grey Matter seems to always have fun events going on including an art crawl and drag BINGO. Lots of art was displayed all over the walls when we came in recently. I sampled a few beers and eventually landed on a sour they had. It was pucker-y and fruit-y, just how I wanted it. My husband ordered a stout and also enjoyed it. They have snacks to purchase and lots of games to play. There is also an incredible view of the lake from the back of the shop. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area.
