I had an extremely disappointing experience with Haley Electric and feel obligated to warn other homeowners and rental property owners. After a recent storm, three breakers in one of my rental properties were tripped and would not reset. Before scheduling service, I specifically asked the person on the phone whether there was a minimum service fee, hourly rate, or any upfront cost. I was clearly told they would need to come out, assess the issue, and then provide an estimate. No pricing, diagnostic fee, or minimum charge was disclosed. When the technician arrived, he spent less than five minutes at the property and simply flipped the breakers back on, confirming they were already in working condition. There was no repair, no parts, and no real troubleshooting performed. Only later in the day was I presented with a $238 bill. As a rental property owner who manages multiple properties, transparency in pricing is extremely important. At no point was I informed that I would be charged nearly $240 just for someone to show up and flip a breaker switch. The situation feels beyond misleading. I believed I was receiving an estimate, not authorizing an expensive service charge. Charging hundreds of dollars for less than five minutes of basic "work", without clearly communicating fees upfront, is unacceptable business practice. There are many honest electricians who provide clear pricing before performing work and who respect their customers' time and trust. This guy was very rude to my wife. He also didn't stand behind his work. He was paid to fix a breaker in our home which we just bought. Sure enough, the breaker wasn't working when we moved in. My wife and I worked hard unboxing our belongings until 2am. Then my wife sent his business a message before we went to bed. We hoped and expected he would get her message in the morning, but he surprisingly answered right then! It wasn't an emergency but he continued to chat on Facebook messenger so she asked if he would come back and check his work- see attached photos... We asked him to come back and fix it and he was extremely rude and said he will charge us $150 to come out and an additional $75 an hour until he is done. Poor work ethics, poor workmanship poor customer service. I do not recommend him and as a community spokesman, I will let families know we had a bad experience with him. ------ Update: He publicly wrote me back calling me "left wing scum." LOL some people ... bless his heart. I hope things go better for him and he can find it in his heart to give basic customer courtesy to people. read more
