I recently moved to Carlsbad and with that, lost the ability to go to my favorite barber. I'm one of those people that is skeptical about getting my hair cut by someone new because, like many people, I've been greatly disappointed with the outcome of the cut. All that being said, I found myself going into DOLCE to try them out. I mean, just look at the photos of this salon and you will see what I saw: this place is IMMACULATE. I was paired with a super great stylist named Haley who said that she too just relocated to the area, which put me a little at ease. I told her what my barber used to do with my hair and the cut that I liked. She was so warm and friendly, very easy to talk to and I felt very relaxed with her. I could tell that she was going to do a great job because she was attentive to what I was telling her I wanted and offered a few recommendations to think about. The cut started with a shampoo and scalp massage, and at that point I knew that I was in for a serious treat! Haley really took care of me here; without a shadow of a doubt, that scalp massage could have been done with the hands of an angel!! It was the best I've ever had, and the massage helped to relax me even more. After the heavenly shampoo and scalp massage was done, Haley got started on the cut and cut it the way that I told her my barber did it. I remember she was so nice and genuine and was a great person to converse with. The cut was done, but not quite: she reminded me of the suggestions that she had and helped me visualize what the different cuts would do. I wasn't about to question it, so I gave her the go-ahead to cut it to her recommendation and now I have the best haircut I've ever had. No joke here, guys, I've never been so overtly and genuinely ecstatic with a haircut!! Her recommendation was PERFECT! Best hair stylist I've had! I call her the "TRENDING CHEMIST!" She always gets the color I want right and she even makes suggestions to make it look better than what you want. I've wanted just brown and she added different tones of brown to make it not dull and boring. Also, she is amaaaaaaazing at haircuts, scalp massages, color correction, etc. If you want your hair done right, you just see Haley! Seriously, she can do it all with ease. Since moving to Carlsbad a couple of years ago, I have been looking for a new hairstylist, and thankfully I found Haley! The last several stylists I went to would always cut my hair funky so that when I parted it on the side, the layers would look a little crazy. Haley is the BEST. I came in with who knows how many colors died on top of my natural color and wanted to go lighter for summer. I didn't think we would be able to get the color as light as I wanted, but she took the time and effort to do everything she could to get my color where I wanted it to be. And the result was FABULOUS. Not only did I get the color I wanted, she was able to do it without damaging my hair! The color blended so well. It was a bayalage with several shades of blonde leading up to dark brown on the top. And I have incredibly thick hair so it was a long process, but she was patient and cheerful the whole time.
