The B&B is around 150 years old and has 3 rooms - we stayed in Suite #2, which also has a sauna. The owners, Lynn and Bob, are very friendly and so hospitable. We felt welcomed from the instant we pulled into the drive. The breakfast the next morning was amazing: a wonderful fruit assortment, caramel sticky buns, and a mouth watering egg strata. I also appreciated their flexibility in easily accommodating my vegetarian diet. Apple Gate Inn is also within a block of the Katy Trail and a stone's throw from Augusta Brewing Co.

The whole place is very nicely decorated! Outside there are some tables gathered and would be a lovely place to relax in the evening for non mosquito delicacies. I was only out for a short while but still a lucky sucker got the sweet sweet taste. Breakfast was a real experience. It was such a shame that we had to leave relatively early. The tasty food seemed to just keep coming. It was nice to meet the other guests and the lady who runs the B + B is such a nice enthusiastic person she lifts everyone's spirits! I'll be back, more than once I'm sure!

This adorable house features 4 bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. The French Room (where we…read morestayed) was the least expensive option at $135/night for the weekend. The only downside was that the shower was handheld due to the low ceiling in the bathroom. The queen-sized bed was super comfortable- almost missed breakfast since we slept so hard after a long day of winery-hopping. Breakfast is served at 9:30 in the dining room around a large dining room table. We were served a frittata with fresh peppers and tomatoes, strips of bacon, fruit cup, crumpets, and muffins. There is fresh coffee, a large selection of tea, and orange juice served with breakfast. Coffee, tea, and water are all available throughout your stay in the communal area. There is a spacious deck overlooking the wide open garden. The humming birds were always flying around, so great bird watching. Separate seating areas allow for privacy if you dot want to interact with the other guests. There was also a fire pit in the garden area, but we did not opt to use during our stay. The hot tub was not functioning during our stay, but they do plan to replace soon.

Gene and Jacque were great hosts. Breakfast was very nice and delicious. Our weekend weather was perfect and after a day at the wineries and dinner at Montell we came back to a fire in the fire pit in the back yard. I highly recommend this B&B and I hope our next experience is just as nice.
