I have a four-year-old and a two-year-old so it didn't seem really feasible to bring them and my husband definitely didn't want me to leave them. I decided this was the year we would travel. Our majority of travel is to different Disney resorts, so we are pretty well-versed in hotel rooms. This beats them hands down. First, this place is VERY family friendly. We stayed in a Boxcar room and it was perfect. There was a bedroom separate from a living room. In the living room there was a small kitchen that even had a dishwasher and microwave. I realized in our room they even had children's plates and utensils that were unbreakable. Can I point out how rare it is for a room to have a microwave? Mini fridge, yes, but I always found it ridiculous that I could easily keep my food cold, but can't heat it up. I loved having a microwave. The tv connects to Disney plus, Netflix and Hulu. Disney plus was all we needed to keep our kids happy. The AC was easily adjustable and there was one in the front room and the bedroom. Then let's talk about the Landing Hub itself. It is super cute and you can tell the owners poured love into it. There are little booklets everywhere that tell you about the decor and the meaning behind it. In the main communal area there is a pool table, ping pong and tons of trucks/legos. We spent over an hour with the boys playing with the toys every morning. They threw a fit when we made the leave to go to the zoo and Cardinals game on different days. It was pretty relaxing just sitting enjoying coffee while they played around our feet. They're pretty rambunctious kids so having all that space was very helpful. The Landing Hub also has a table with information about nearby attractions. My kids love Monster Trucks so thanks to the table (and information from the owner) we learned that Bigfoot is less than 10 minutes away! We stopped by on our last day and met the driver. That was a fun surprise. My son says that was his favorite part of the trip. We were here for a wedding, which was a ton of fun. We knew everyone we ran into was there for the wedding so it was like one big family reunion. I didn't really know anyone other than the bride, since we are friends from over 10 years ago, so it was great knowing immediately that anyone I ran into was there for the wedding. That was such a fun part of the wedding. Then the wedding itself was beautiful. They set up the ceremony on the patio and the reception was both inside the communal area and outside. This place is only 35 minutes from tons of fun kids things like the STL zoo, Grants Farm, Magic House and the Science Center. I did look up hotel rooms in the city to try to decide if we wanted to stay downtown some nights. A double queen was comparable in price to the suite we got (with much less space) and downtown you have to pay for parking. Although driving in I was a little nervous, I felt very safe the entire time we were here. The only downside is there aren't many food places close by, but we would grab food when we were in STL and bring it back, since it was so easy to refrigerate and heat back up. The owner is super nice. She gave my kids some Bigfoot memorabilia (which I think has now started their obsession with Bigfoot). I love supporting small businesses. If you're thinking about staying here, just do it. You won't regret it. It's also super clean. The owner loves checklists (I saw her checklists all over the place) and the one for cleaning is super comprehensive. Seriously cleaner than my house even.

After talking with Laurie we knew we had found the perfect place. The location is great, across the street from Hermann city limits, high up on a hill with beautiful view of stars at night. I was very impressed with how nicely decorated the house is inside, with comfy couches, nice fireplace, great open kitchen and eating area. The bedrooms have the most comfortable beds and the bathroom is perfect. Starry Nights is very clean. Breakfasts are cooked fresh and hot and taste delicious, which helps us start our day on the right note. This is a cozy intimate venue which would hold up to 50 comfortably. The upstairs has a beautiful stone fireplace and wonderful hardwood floors , vaulted ceilings with rustic beams and old fashion charming ceiling fans and a piano available for those who are musically inclined. Upon descending to the lower level you notice the stone wall and nicely refinished stairs and once down you can't help but notice the absolutely stunning wine cellar/ dining area . There is a full kitchen and full bathroom. We had son's rehearsal dinner there with 40 people and had plenty of room , also had the wedding there and the patio made a fantastic setting for the wedding. We rented the 5 Bedroom/5 Bath luxurious and spacious home July 7/27-8/2/2021, and it was perfect! The home was 4 miles from the Wedding venue, Sunflower Hill Farm, which made it convenient and easy to move between the Wedding activities and our rental property. I initially booked this property with Lauren in 2019, for May 30th 2020, but because of covid the Wedding was moved to July 11, 2020, and finally a year later - July 31, 2021. Lauren and then Jessica, both with Rockwood Management in St. Louis, confirmed our reservation, then rebooked, and reconfirmed for the eventual date that finally worked. They both were responsive, helpful, and did not hesitate to move, adjust, and confirm the property bookings during these challenging times. I so appreciated their positive help and guidance - and was relieved to know that our lodging was confirmed. I had family flying in from Hawai'i, Texas, and we live in Florida, so lodging was very important to secure. I had fresh flower leis mailed from Hawai'i for the Rehearsal dinner, and we received them at our home rental and had a lot of space to store and keep them until needed. The home was large, well - furnished, and convenient to Wine country Wedding venues, the Katy trail, Wineries, and some of the historical nearby towns. We were thrilled to have such a beautiful home to rest, relax, and lounge at .........had a family dinner Thursday night.......it was exactly the space and location we needed. The girls from Rockwood Management are Awesome! Most of us had early flights on Monday, 8/2, our check-out day.....except for our our son and his new bride, who had a late 5pm flight back to San Francisco. I emailed Jessica to ask if there was any way the two of them could stay a few extra hours.....till 2pm - and she confirmed with the cleaners that it would be fine; what a relief and some extra quiet time and rest for them after the Spectacular but Exhausting Wedding week/end. As it turned out - their 5pm flight ended up getting cancelled, and they fortunately were able to catch the last available flight out that evening - so they were especially grateful for the extra hours in the Beautiful Church Rd. home. The four of us are in our 60s, we aren't young kids that play music really super loud. There was no on either side of us. Nor behind us it was a big open field. The manager Loretta over to our site guns a blazing telling us that we to turn the music down that she was getting a bunch of complaints actually the band was still breaking down and the food truck just left and we were having a conversation so there's no way that the music was loud. My husband jokingly said well as soon as you leave, we'll just turn it back up lol even meeting this couple for the very first time they knew that he was joking as I did also. she told us that we should pack up and leave right then and there, knowing that we were drinking alcoholic beverages all day. Who does that kind of stuff nobody I know. I would never allow anybody to leave my home after drinking all day. She tried to come and talk to me the next day, but she has a hair up her ass for my husband. She always seems to have something to bitch about and we spend a lot of money there. we will never go back there. Also, the place is a mess. There was an inch and a half of water in the bathrooms by the pool. The pool was so scummy and disgusting. And if she thinks we were making loud noise, try going to playground at 11:30 at night when there's a bunch of kids running around and screaming and playing until their parents decide to go and tell to come in. 1130 at night kids at a playground. Yet she has to yell at 60 year old people for having a radio on please. Loretta is disrespectful talks bad about her other employees which she can't keep anybody there they quit and they talk bad about her too. We will never go there again, and I would never advise my worst enemy to go there. We were also told by an employee that 90 percent of the people that are there live there!
