Went with their set menu where you pick a starter two items to share for the table and an entrée, which was exactly the right amount of food and everything was incredibly delicious. Had watermelon salad, gumbo and also the amazing kimchee soup. The pork balls we're great as was the cod dip. The winner, though, was the crab curry. wholesome and delicious. Tried their homemade drink, the gogo juice, which I cut with sparkling water for the whole night and was excellent. Definitely worth a return trip. So good

It is on the dark side, so romantic outings will do fine here. There is an upstairs seating area with booth like seating and another sitdown bar. The staff is beyond friendly, professional, and helpful. Suggesting dishes and appetizers to fit your taste but come on everything is going to be amazing here. When greeted by your server, your asked the usual question " tap or sparkling water" sparkling is your jam you're in luck. The service is on the fast side, and I have read other comments where the staff seems to rush you out. That was not the case for me and my party even though they seemed pretty busy on this afternoon visit. The food speaks for itself; cooked perfectly, season to perfection and just enough portion so you can have leftovers. Because believe me you will want to have leftovers the food is that good. And on top of all of that, it's not too big of a hit on the wallet. So if you work in the area, or just planning a trip to the city Kjun 100% should be a stop or a lunch trip.

I walked into Aquaboil without any major expectations. I knew it was a seafood boil restaurant and…read morefigured it would be good, but it ended up exceeding my expectations. The first thing I noticed was how clean the restaurant was. It's a smaller space, but everything was spotless. Our hostess was incredibly friendly and seemed to be doing it all seating guests, making cocktails, checking in on tables, and even folding napkins and prepping utensils for the next customers. She never missed a beat. Since it was Restaurant Week, they were offering a $60 seafood boil special that included an appetizer, a boil, and dessert. My date and I decided to share everything, so we ordered the Cajun spaghetti and the Restaurant Week boil, adding a whole lobster for an extra $20. We also ordered drinks. I had the Raspberry Martini, and he had the Clawlatta, their take on a piña colada. Both cocktails were beautifully presented and perfectly balanced. Even though there were only two of us, our waiter pulled another table over so we had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the full seafood boil experience. It was a thoughtful touch that we appreciated. The Cajun spaghetti came out first, and it was delicious. It had a rich, flavorful sauce with a nice kick of spice that lingered at the end without being overwhelming. Then... came the BOIL!! I ordered the garlic butter seasoning with mild spice. The bag arrived piping hot, filled with plenty of shrimp, the whole lobster, potatoes, and lots of flavorful buttery broth. Everything was fresh, hot, and seasoned perfectly. It was messy in the best way and absolutely delicious. When we first arrived, there was only one other occupied table. By the time we left, the restaurant had filled up with several larger groups, yet the service and attention to us, was consistent. Every dish came out hot and savory, the hostess and waiter remained attentive throughout our meal, our water glasses were never empty, and the overall hospitality was excellent. Including drinks, the lobster upgrade, tax, and tip, our total came to about $175 for two people. Considering the quality of the food, generous portions, drinks, and outstanding service, I thought it was well worth it. I would definitely come back.

4.5 stars We went…read morefor a late lunch/early dinner right at 4pm. We ordered the 5lb combo for the 2 of us. 2 lbs of shrimp, mussels, crabs and for a +20..added lobster. $150 total. L also got the warm lobster roll and we got 4 margaritas/martini. Service was great. Refilled our water, dumped our shells, etc. We got it with garlic butter with medium spice. Very flavorful. Everything was really good. Potatoes and corn were so tasty in the butter sauce. The lobster was easy to break open with all the tools. I came here for seafood cuz I went to another restaurant and they had these huge mussels that didn't taste that great so I'm so glad Aqua Boil has the smaller mussels. Music wasn't loud and HH is 4-6pm, drinks were a great deal. Next time I'll try their reg cocktails. Lobster roll was great too. Very buttery. We were just eating the lobster meat by itself. We did eat the bun after. L was pretty full or he would've tried the cold lobster roll as well. I prob could've eaten the rest of the crabs but I took it home and we also ordered another lb of shrimp to go. I have to come back and try the other items. We really liked the food. We haven't been to a seafood boil in a while.. I mean seafood with butter.. that's just so good. We returned a week later for dinner to try new things. We ordered the crab cake, seafood combo basket, cold lobster roll, gumbo..a few cocktails. L enjoyed the crab cake, Cole slaw was good. I wanted just catfish but L wanted to try the combo. Fried shrimp is fried shrimp. Calamari was good but the catfish was flakey, fresh and delicious. I should've gotten more catfish. Cold lobster roll isn't as good as the warm one. I mean butter beats mayo... but ooh the gumbo was pretty tasty.. meat in every bite. Two pieces of shrimp, gumbo was so good with some rice.. it's good for 2 if you're sharing a few things. I had the Poseidon's Wrath which I liked. One was enough to make me feel the alcohol. L had a Siren's blood which he liked a lot..I don't like Bloody Marys... so not my thing, but it comes with a shrimp and a piece of sausage. Seas the day was too sweet for me but that was also for L. I def could taste the fresh mango puree the bartender used. We do like the food here, service is always great. Our waitress is so nice. We got more shrimp to take home. Not expensive either compared to Capt Lou.

Decorative art adorns the walls giving the place a hip and trendy vibe. The patrons are friendly and it was particularly nice to converse with diners to the left, and to the right of us...who shared opinions on "what's good?". Our server Kyle was very sweet and personable. He was informative and attentive without being the least bit overbearing. Big shout out to him!! Great service Kyle!!! Now for the food.. Everything we had was flavorful and well seasoned. Items listed as "appetizers" are easily "entrées" (BIG shareable portions!!), I had no need to order an actual entrée. We ordered half a dozen roasted oysters, the crayfish and shrimp bread, crab and shrimp Gumbo, A side order of red beans and rice, cornmeal encrusted seafood combo and the pear lemonade. That fish was fried to PERFECTION!! The fish was well coated in a seasoned cornmeal crust that wasn't heavy or greasy. It didn't overwhelm the shrimp, catfish or oysters. The roasted oysters were garlicky and delicious!! The crayfish bread was o.k. but I felt the bread wasn't crisp enough. It was still good though. We were too full for dessert, which looked absolutely AMAZING!! In particular, the huge serving of bourbon glazed bread pudding. I will definitely be trying that upon my next visit. Sorry...no pictures in this review. We were too busy eating and talking. One FYI..the bathrooms are unisex, so they could use some attention. Overall, a really great experience!!

Visiting Filé Gumbo Bar in Tribeca is like taking a quick culinary trip to one of my favorite…read morecities: New Orleans. Known for what many consider some of NYC's best gumbo, Filé also serves fried catfish, jambalaya, char-grilled oysters, beignets, and an extensive cocktail selection. On my most recent visit, we arrived at 3 p.m. and ordered from the prix-fixe lunch menu. An added bonus was being able to take advantage of happy-hour pricing on drinks and appetizers--a great combination that made an already appealing lunch even better. Filé Gumbo Bar opened its doors in Tribeca in 2022, bringing a distinctly Louisiana sensibility to downtown Manhattan. The restaurant showcases Cajun and Creole classics prepared right at the bar, built around slow-cooked, flavor-packed roux and a choice of proteins. The gumbo is simmered and finished in a steam kettle, making the cooking process part of the dining experience. I usually take a seat at the bar, where I can watch the chefs work their magic at the restaurant's intricate custom steam-kettle cooking station. Individual bowls of gumbo and jambalaya are cooked and finished right in front of you. There's something almost theatrical about watching the process as the aromas of roux, sausage, seafood, and spices fill the room. The décor reinforces the New Orleans connection without becoming kitschy. Mustard-yellow leather banquettes, stamped-tin ceilings, and whitewashed brick walls create a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of Southern charm. Even the bread has a Louisiana connection: it is shipped directly from Leidenheimer Baking Company, the legendary New Orleans bakery whose French bread is a local institution. For anyone missing the Crescent City--or simply looking for a memorable taste of Louisiana in Manhattan--Filé Gumbo Bar is well worth a visit.

Had lunch here on a basic Monday afternoon, meaning not much of a crowd but also meaning proper service. The waiter was courteous and got my food in a timely matter. I had my usual staple, Shrimp Po'Boy but instead of fries, I opted for Dirty Rice which was a solid choice. Compared to all the Po'Boys I've had, this one is a tad smaller than others but I was just fine with it. I was in no mood to stretch out my jaw further than it should so the medium sized Po'Boy was a welcome sight. Very much still had all the taste of one that can be bigger than intended. The Dirty Rice was fantastic, it's been a minute, several of them since I've had authentic Dirty Rice and not that mediocre Popeyes version of it which has pretty much been discontinued a few years ago. After that meal, had Beignets with chocolate mousse dip for Dessert making for a fine and a bit of a steep lunch, then again a good lunch isn't cheap these days.
