My husband and I both went to Halaina's. We are staying in Myrtle Beach for ten days before going back to Canada, but we have been traveling for four months. I went on Yelp when we were in Phoenix and found a place there a couple of months ago, so I did it again this time. Halaina was able to book our appointments within two days, which was great! While my hair color was processing she cut my husband's hair. At first she wanted to change his style but he adamantly refused any change and she was very good natured about it. His cut looks great! I love my hair color and my husband really loves it because she put in more blonde highlights than I've had a in a long time. He says it makes me look younger, which is a nice compliment! I loved the cut she gave me and I felt I was in experienced hands. Every hairdresser cuts a different way but what matters is the end result. At first I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to manage the style in the Myrtle Beach humidity and wind, but she said to give it a couple of days and if I wanted her to change it she would. So I called the next day and said I wanted it trimmed a bit more. She booked me in for the day after that. That morning I styled my hair and found that when I let the natural curl do it's own thing, the length was perfect and it did look really nice with a minimum amount of fuss, so I called her and cancelled that second appointment. I really appreciated her flexibility and her encouragement to let me try it out before she cut more off. That tells me she understood the nature of my hair. When I think about it, what woman can really manage her hair in humidity and wind unless it's tightly pulled back into a ponytail!!? Especially for half a day on a golf course! Mine is too short for that so I'm fair game to the forces of nature! I found Halaina to be friendly, efficient and knowledgeable about her craft. Her salon is clean and nicely decorated and is in a nice area. I can't compare her prices to other salons in the area, since I don't live here. We paid $200 - $175 for me and $25 for my husband. Most places charge for the number of foils they use for highlights and she did use a lot for mine, so I didn't find that unreasonable. read more

I count Halaina's Salon as one of my greatest finds since moving to the Myrtle Beach area. This salon is a cozy, wonderful place for me and it is a joy to spend a couple of hours with Halaina and to receive her dedicated attention to my hair! Halaina gives me the benefit of her professional expertise and dedication by continually staying abreast of the latest trends in hair care at a price that compares favorably to other salons of the same caliber. One of the things I like best about Halaina is that she listens to my requests but she will not let me do anything that will incidentally harm my hair. Halaina's focus is on healthy hair and her motto seems to be: Do no harm. Bringing damaged hair back to health is her specialty. She has such a good understanding of the chemical processes involved in hair care and takes time to educate her customers. I am completely happy with Halaina's Salon and my husband is too! I am new to the area and needed to find someone who was willing to listen and consult on both the color and the cut. Halaina exceeded my expectations and is very concerned with working with you to achieve the results you are looking for. She is very professional and super easy to talk to. She will listen to everything you want but will also offer a professional opinion on whether she thinks it will work and she isn't afraid to tell you if she doesn't think it will. I got everything that I wanted! I didn't have a clear direction on the color given that I was not keeping up with my hair on a regular basis for the past 2 years. I feel like she got me back on track with my hair and she did so by saving me money by her color recommendation which came out to be less expensive that the baylayage. She is great at her profession and her passion shines through. I'll be returning and am very pleased. read more

This lady is a joke. Her BS and little wanna-be boutique shop are tactics to make up for her not knowing anything about how to do good hair. Saw her on TV and thought Id give her a try, but anyone can get themselves on tv, not everyone should be trusted with hair. First she asks me what I want, then she tells me what she is going to do for me - shouldn't the 2 have the same outcome?! Nope, not here. Somehow she tries to tell you why what you wanted wouldn't work and blame your past color or bad past hairstylists for why your new hair color/cut doesn't look a thing like you wanted or expected. She has made a name for herself, great. But I am thinking and hoping that once people start figuring her BS out, the name she has made will not be a good one. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID. I was in the salon when this customer was receiving her service and how terrible she treated Halaina. I would say everything from here posting was the opposite. She would not listen to Halian, she was very rude, and had no clue as to what she wanted. Halaina was always professional and even then some. I was shocked at how rude this customer was and actually had to break into the terrible lashing she was giving Halaina. Halaina explained everything in great detail and the risk associated with what this lady wanted done. I refer all my friends and I bring my entire family including my mother. If you don't go to Halaina's you are missing out of the best experience in your life. Halaina does a super job on cutting hair. She is so professional at her job. She really knows how to cut hair. Don't be afraid to tell her about details. You can tell she is very dedicated and committed to cutting hair. She just loves her job. Not only does she know how to cut hair but she is super friendly and so sweet. She's funny, outgoing and very classy too. I was super impressed. She is always in a cheerful mood. What a great friend to have too. I had read many reviews on this salon & decided to give it a shot. Being new to the area, I needed to find my "go-to" stylist and I DID!!! I walked in with a hot mess of damaged (got talked into a perm at a different salon), thick hair with a terrible haircut. I literally was in tears almost daily over how bad my hair was. After letting Halaina take a look & telling her to do what she could to make it any better, I walked out with hair that really looked good! I moved back to Myrtle Beach in 2009 and haven't been able to find anyone that could cut my hair. So I patiently waited for this shop to open and decided to give it a try. Halaina is such a great person, she goes above and beyond to make sure that her clients are very happy with their new do's. My son and i have had horrible problems with finding a good hair salon....NOT ANYMORE!!!! Halaina's Salon is WONDERFUL!!! We saw Halaina herself and she was so awesome with my 3 year old! He was scared at first but she quickly had him eating right out of her hands...LITTERALLY...She had sugar free fruit snacks just for the little ones!! When I moved down here, I went to 5 different salons before I found Halaina. That was the end of my search!! She has made suggestions about slight changes to my hair through the years, and everyone of them was wonderful.
