Free coffee tour with breathtaking views. Aaliyah was our coffee tour and she was great. She was very welcoming, friendly and made our coffee tour enjoyable. We made reservations for a 10am coffee tour with 6 adult and 2 kids. Not only did we get to sample coffee upon arrival, but we were able open macadamia nuts with a rock and eat it fresh. We even saw some geckos. The tour was very educational and we took some great pictures. Thanks to Aaliyah for an amazing time and letting us grab some delicious avocados from tree.

Dogs on the property joining us for the tour

We had an absolutely amazing coffee tour at the Hala tree coffee farm you can tell how much they really care about their business and everything is so thoughtful. There were so many dogs, which I absolutely loved!! The dogs were very respectful though so I would not worry at all if you don't like dogs. The coffee was all amazing and we got to try some amazing different blends and tasters would 100% recommend and I would love to go back.

Wish I could give them 6 stars! I'm so lucky that we stumbled on this place while looking up coffee farms in Kona. They offer a free tour -- which was very informative and cool to see! When you enter you might think you're in the wrong place but you're not! I'm so happy we supported this farm instead of a more tourist-y attraction. Our tour guide was very informative and answered all our questions. The free tour includes some samples and you can purchase an extra flight of samples as well. And did I mention it's beautiful? Would recommend to anybody! Don't be scared off by the parking lot. They have a couple tea options as well if you're not that into coffee.

Beautiful location in mountains with a chill casual vibes!! You can take a coffee farm tour, or sample their various brews. Personally I loved the medium roast and coffee honey spread!!

We had a really nice experience and the staff were amazing. They even provided suggestions of other must dos on the island. There was not a lot of walking which was good for my mother who walks with a cane. The variety of coffee selections to taste was good. I purchased some tea which I have been consuming since the visit and I already need more because it was so enriching in taste and the health components

The Customer Service here was outstanding! We really enjoyed our visit, we were treated like Family (Ohana)! Such a beautiful place and the coffee was really good too as well as the Nettle Tea! I highly recommend this place! It's a 10+

Beautiful place. You can tour the farm, it takes about one hour and is free. We opted out of this because we were hungry. They have a couple of kinds of coffee to try for free, and you can pay a small fee to try a few others. Coffee was outstanding. We spent several minutes talking to the gentleman who was doing the roasting on site. Very kind, and explained the whole process to my children. It is expensive, but some of the best coffee I've ever had.

My wife and I always do a coffee tour whenever we come to Kona, because we both love coffee, and especially Kona coffee. Our guide, Sabrina, was very knowledgeable, and attentive. The coffees all tasted really good, and we look forward to enjoying them when we get home.

Amazing coffee farm and tour. I've been twice now and I'll come back again and again. The gals who give the tours are very informative and personal. They're happy to answer any questions you have. Very family friendly. And the coffee! Simply amazing. The teas are incredible as well.

So I didn't get to try any of their hot coffee or go on their tour - I was only in the area a couple days (I miss it already!), so I only had time to go on one coffee tour - but I saw around 3:40 that they closed at 4, and they were down the street from where we were staying, so I had just enough time to check them out before they closed - that's how I learned that they put away their hot coffee samples around 3:40, but that's fine, I was a lot more interested in what they did still have out, than in hot coffee. What they had out included a wonderful coffee/honey jam, a wonderful coffee/honey syrup, and a couple wonderful cold brew blends, including one with locally grown slightly-spicy peppers, which I, as a weird person who loves adding peppers to everything, loved. (I bought a bag of that - though I wish I'd bought a bit more, I've drunk it already! It's not cheap, but still cheaper than buying cold brew at a coffee shop!) The view from the parking lot is also pretty great - though make sure not to overshoot the entrance to it, like I did, as the road just past the entrance gets very steep and is difficult to turn around on.

Kona coffee beans!

My family and I enjoyed our time at Hala Tree coffee farm. My daughters absolutely adored the friendly rescue pups who greeted us upon arrival. Our hostess Sabrina did a fantastic job sharing the history of the farm, varieties of coffee trees, as well as the harvesting and processing process. She also went in-depth discussing the different ways beans are roasted to bring out natural favors. We enjoyed sampling the coffee varieties and french press tasters of the Geisha and Deep Red.

Coffee tasting flight.

Tour was amazing!!! Kat provided more than enough information. Beautiful scenery to do some coffee tasting.

My husband and I spent 6 days on the Big Island for our honeymoon and we knew we wanted to embrace
read morethe culture and explore the Kona coffee country. As coffee lovers, Heavenly Hawaiian constantly came up in my research and I'm glad we toured for ourselves. The grounds itself are absolutely gorgeous and that view from the hill onto the ocean is unreal! I can't for the life of me remember our tour guides name but she was such a joy and extremely knowledgeable. Learning about the different coffee variants that are grown such as Kona typica, Progeny 502, and the "boujee girl" Geisha was awesome to learn about and see for ourselves. Did I mention endless coffee sampling? Such a relaxing atmosphere to sip all the coffee you want and enjoy that view. And the cutest cats on the property were such a delight mingling with the guests. All staff members were so helpful and they even treated us with a goodie bag of freshly picked fruits from the farm and a bag of peaberry bites (my new favorite) all as a thank you for paying a visit on our honeymoon! Was not expecting that all but such a sweet gesture! I would highly recommend Heavenly Hawaiian farms to anyone if you're on the Big Island or in the Kona area. Absolutely worth the trip up the hill and to feel the aloha from the staff and grounds.

Heavenly Hawaiian Coffee Farm was such a highlight of our time on the Big Island. The tour struck
read morethe perfect balance between educational and fun, and I walked away feeling like I truly understood the journey of Kona coffee from the very beginning all the way to the cup in my hands. The land itself is absolutely beautiful, with stunning views that make you want to linger a little longer and soak it all in. You can tell how much care and pride goes into everything they do here. We learned so much about what makes these coffee beans so special, from how they are grown and harvested to how they are processed and roasted. It gave me a whole new appreciation for every sip. And Ben, our tour guide, was incredible. So charming, so knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what he does. He made the experience engaging and memorable from start to finish. Highly recommend this tour if you are anywhere near Kona. It is an experience you will not forget.

I wanted to like these guys i really did as i love to support small business , but when you receive
read moreold and stale beans by mail and go to their website and leave a review not only did they delete the review but i got a response from owner that i swear said SO SORRY !!! Thats it !! No how can we make this right or what can we do to remedy this .. then when i went to see if my review was posted on there website it magically disappeared .. thats the reason for the 1 star review .. not trying to put you guys on blast but when you order beans all the way from Hawaii and they are bitter and stale well i have to be honest and tell the truth .. do better with your customer service and you cant hide or delete on yelp !!

I was referred to Cornwell Coffee Company by a woman I met on the island whose daughter works
read morethere. A web search led me to Kona Premium Coffee Company (Cornwell no longer exists) and only a website and no purchasing information besides online/shipping. I had the business card so we drove to the Bishop Road location at 4:50 pm on a Wednesday as the office is open until 5 pm. All signs pointed to Heavenly Hawaiian Farms (not Kona Premium). Clearly not a store front and no one was in the office. We called and it went to the answering machine that we heard behind the office door. The next day I called as all the listings said the farm tour and tastings were by appointment only. I left a message and no one ever returned my call. The answering machine also lists a number of businesses so I'm not sure what's going on. Now, the plus side to this trip is on the way down the hill, there was an unstaffed roadside stand for Morning Glory Farms where I bought coffee ($20/half pound - great price) and some fresh fruit. Paid by Venmo, all was delicious.

A pleasant and comfortable camping experience on the Big Island
read more As a solo woman, I spent 9 nights in the Jungle Canopy at Gingerhill Farm Retreat in April 2026. I had an excellent stay, although I am used to camping, and feel that having a camping mindset is required for staying here. Yes, the chorus of frogs are very loud as soon as it's dark, and you can hear roosters in the distance in the morning along with bird songs. However, I enjoyed the noises and am an early riser. The Jungle Canopy is located close to the private residence, and I experienced little human noise. There was one nighttime rain and no leaks. The screened-in bedroom is functional, and the bed has a good (firm) mattress. The sink and toilet, screened off and behind the bed, are nice to have in this enlarged tent. The shower is a few feet outside the tented bedroom/kitchen, and is open to the sky (cool to look up at the tree canopy). The shower is very nice, and the water gets hot. There is no door, but the only way you can be seen is from the Jungle Canopy tent itself (you can hang a sarong if you needed more privacy). They provide face clothes and towels, two worn beach towels, as well as family-size liquid hand soap, shampoo and conditioner (decent quality). The kitchen, in front of the screened bedroom, also under a canopy, has everything you need: pots and pans (including a few that are stainless steel), a good size fridge with a small enclosed freezer (with 2 freezer packs), a sink with dish soap, etc. They provide a Berkey-like water filter carboy, a stainless-steel kettle to boil water, as well as coffee beans, a grinder, and French-press. There is a small table with two chairs where you can look at beautiful tropical plants. The only bummer is that the hot plate to cook food and boil the kettle can be slow to heat, especially if there is a slight breeze. Once the propane tank emptied while I was cooking breakfast and I had to text to ask for a replacement, however, someone came over right away and I was able to resume cooking. Like camping, you are responsible for taking out your own trash to communal cans located a fairly short distance away. You can't put any toilet paper down the toilet, so all paper used for #1 and #2 needs to go into a plastic-bag-lined trash can and you remove and dump. They removed the compost. Recommendations to Gingerhill: provide more plastic bags for trash, more toilet paper (I had to ask), and offer a larger compost bucket as it filled too quickly. Also, one day I came back in the afternoon and found the gate code didn't work. I texted and called and fairly soon someone told me that they changed the code, but didn't notify me. Next time they change the code they should text all visitors staying at the farm the new code. So, in all, I would give a 9/10 ranking, especially given the cost compared to other accommodations, and the tropical farm experience. FYI, there is snorkeling gear that you can use that is located next to the Sunset Cottage.

Gingerhill Farm Retreat was one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited! Being surrounded by
read moreso much nature was truly grounding! And the hospitality, simply the best! I will definitely be back!
