I just went into this salon as a walk in yesterday to get my hair done as a purple balayage after a…read moremix up at precious salon which I shall not name. Employees were very nice. I did talk to this young girl who was also a stylist, at first and showed her what I wanted. She said that it was fully possible that they could do that at their salon. I got super excited as this would be my first time getting balayage and based on the great reviews and pictures of the work these stylists could do, I knew I would be leaving with the hair of my dreams. This lovely woman named Paola took care of me. Since my hair was too black, they had to lighten it up with some bleach. Afterwords, they added this red color to my hair and currently my hair has this maroon/purple base. When I first saw it, I was actually kind of upset and sad because this was not what I wanted and I told them that. I also referenced the picture of how I wanted my hair and reminded Paola that they told me i could get what I wanted there. After Paola talk to some other stylists, the young stylist who I had initially talk to when I first got there said that because my hair was so dark, getting the purple balayage I wanted would be a process. I would have to come back in at least three weeks for another session that they can make sure my hair will take the purple and the base that it was currently at was a good starting point. They also told me that they wanted to do their best to protect the overall health of my hair. At that point, I was a little upset that it wasn't told to me in the beginning that I would need to do more than one session to get what I wanted, however, it's not such a detriment, for me at least, that I won't come back. I appreciate that they were honest with me and I made my second session for the middle of October so my fingers are crossed that I can get the purple balayage of my dreams. When I do come back, I would love to have Paola work with the other stylist who has done this purple balayage before because at least Ill have confidence in that they know what they're doing. As far as the cleanliness of the salon, it's not too bad. Besides not being told about there being more than one session, I think the only other issue I had was seeing little kids roam all over the place. As I was getting my hair done, I saw a little boy knock over a screen which was used to divide the room between where people go to have their hair dried and where people are when they get their haircut and colored. The price is pretty up there but you get what you pay for here. I am paying a good amount of money here so I want to leave this salon with what I wanted. I hope my second session goes well and I can leave with the purple balayage I want. I will update when I go for my second session.

I'm happy to say that as of today, I have a new one - I am so happy with the results. When I sat in the chair, Lucy asked me what I was looking for, and said about 7-8 inches off (which was the length that she gave me), but I then asked her what she thought. She gave me her opinion, but letting me know that it was up to me. I loved her ideas. She kept the cut with what I requested, but then gave me step by step of what she thought would work...and then said why. She made sure that I was comfortable before giving me a 'dry cut,' which was a first for me. She wanted to make sure that my hair type would perform as she expected (which it did). I've never had a stylist not only do what I requested, but walked me through what she was doing and why she was doing it. I also found that Lucy not only exceeded in her craft, but was also a pleasure to talk to. She's such a kind person and so giving of her time and knowledge! I felt more pampered at Hair and Co than I have at the salons where I was used to spending 30% more on an OK hair cut. Sam Martirano Salon hands down was my first pic. My service began with Anamaria who was beyond amazing in guiding me in choosing a hair process color and or a style for the festivities. My plan was to dye my entire hair one color and she pointed out that a roof touch up would be a better choice since I had natural highlights and they would be covered if I did an entire hair service. She has a great eye for style and really was comfortable working with my hair texture. She shared her experience of working in the Ms. world beauty pageant competitions and doing the hair of contestants. Hands down, Anamaria is very talented. I highly recommend her. My next stop was Jackie. She did waxing, eye brow tinting, and provided a skin consult and was able to identify I had an allergy to retinol products. She told me what to do the night before my event, and just like that, my skin appeared almost back to normal for the event I was attending. All the staff here is very well trained and attentive to your needs. If you need a quality salon. This is your go to.
