I went for a quick trim and it was a full service from head and shoulders massage and beautiful blow dry! My boys like the fact that they will be getting some sweets and hot chocolates after their haircuts. No one complains about going to get their haircuts anymore. The only downside is the parking around Esplanade and Lonsdale can be so hard to find.

I like a super lived in balayage and it looks like I got blonde highlights. The last picture is my inspo, and the other two is what I got. This unfortunately isn't the first time I've had an issue with supernova stylists not doing what I asked for. They did resolve it last time but I don't have time to keep coming back when I get my hair done to get it fixed, nor is it good for my hair. My hair also feels like it wasn't washed good enough as it feels like there's still some of the gritty toner or dye in it, not sure which one.

The salon itself it very cool - super aesthetic, good vibes, nice staff. They also have a great instagram page, which is how I found them. I would compare them to the internet hair gurus like Ahn Co Tran (of Ramirez Salon) and Sal Salcedo (of Nova Arts Salon). Very vibey. I will say, be prepared for a pretty steep bill. I expected it to be high because obviously they have a great internet presence and do great work, but I was still surprised by the final cost. Of course, I tipped on top of that because Yuri really did a great job. So the final bill was... staggering. However, I truly believe hair is one of the things you shouldn't cheap out on, especially if you're getting it coloured as well, like I did. A good balayage takes time and skill, and if you find a salon with prices that seem to good to be true, you probably won't be happy with the results (there are exceptions of course). I do wish they had some sort of promo or incentive for new customers. I see a lot of other salons offering either some % off or a free cut with a hair colour appointment for new customers. It would have been nice to see some summer promotion or something. Overall, if you can afford it, this is a great salon with a lot of talented hair dressers and colour specialists. You won't leave disappointed.

But it doesnt sit on my crown (top of my head) and when I pull it down so it does, the sides cover my ears!! Ridiculous! Instead of telling me the wig was too big (keeping in mind, shes placing it on my head, not me), they should have told me they would order the appropriate size. I have a very small head. No refunds, No exchanges, although you wont find that policy on their website or the receipt. Stylist forgot to mention it as did the receptionist taking my payment. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. They should be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves.

My hair cut is excellent and my hair colour is exactly what I had in mind. Also, the salon did a great job of making me feel safe, as clients are spaced far apart, and all stylists were wearing protective gear. Two thumbs way up!

When I explained that the ad did not state any restrictions the woman on the phone explained very rudely that she didn't write the ad, her boss did. I asked to speak with her boss and she told me he wasn't in. Given the gigantic attitude I was getting I asked what her name was and she refused to tell me. She then asked my name and I gave it and again asked her name and she ignored me and then refused to speak. I said hello multiple times over a solid minute and could hear the background noise of the salon but she refused to speak to me. AVOID. Complaining to Groupon.

I bought a coupon from Social for cut with this saloon, I made an appointment with this saloon for first time, and they asked Jade to cut my hair. I gave her picture and I told the owner Ruth, that I want really good hair cut, Jade cut my hair, not only she did not give my favorite hair cut but also she cut such a child and destroyed my hair . The day after I went to salon to ask manage 'Ruth' Owner, to fix my hair. I showed my hair that one side short and other side long, not even, and so so. She yelled on me and she said I do not care and get lost from my salon. I did not understand what is going on I said you have to fix my hair but she said get lost from my saloon. People: please do not go to this salon; this owner which Ruth is so rude and employees need to practice more. I did not understand, this salon looks like Mental organization not Hair salon. read more

What a great find! I haven't been to a salon in a long time, and what caught my attention right from the get go was the name of the business and the logo. Very creative. Which definitely translates to what these stylists are. Finally! a place that isn't just a typical salon. New clients receive 25% off there first visit, and did I mention they offer you a variety beverages? I am not just talking about water..what a cool idea. The atmosphere and vibe is very welcoming and relaxing. The stylists are very friendly and provide great services. Leanna gave me some ideas and gave me a haircut and style exactly what I was looking for, so thank you Leanna! I have a very hard time trusting people with my hair as I've had some pretty nasty hair cuts and colours done by people I've trusted in the past. I needed to get my hair done though, and saw that Hairsoda had very good ratings on here. I booked yesterday (over the phone, but online booking is extremely convenient!) and went in to see Ruth today. I showed her a picture of what I wanted done to my hair, and she was very meticulous in looking it over a few times so she knew exactly what to do. The entire time, Ruth did a fantastic job of keeping me in the know about what she was doing and asking questions to make sure that she got it exactly right. My hair feels and looks fantastic, and all nerves I had going in are now forever gone. I am definitely planning to go back in the future to see Ruth. read more

I have been going to hairsoda for a little over a year now, I have had the pleasure of having my hair cut/styled by a few of the fantastic crew working there. The staff is excellent, the service in impeccable and always received in a friendly manner. They have product for sale that are exclusive to their salon; available for sale as-well. They have the experience and training (local and overseas) to back up their strong hair game. The staff is always open and ready for a new challenge in styling. If you live on the shore definitely check them out, and if you live anywhere else, I strongly recommend crossing the bridge and experiencing this fantastic hair salon. You will not be disappointed. I always feel welcome when I walk in the door at Hairsoda. My stylist, Kira is a bright light who always has a story to tell & a recipe to share! She knows what to do before I do! She is a talented, well-liked & funny person who dyes, cuts, & styles my hair in a short amount of time. She recommends products that will help my dry hair, yet is not pushy to buy. Kira also tries to fit me into her schedule when I need a last minute appointment. I highly recommend anyone to call Hairsoda & try them out. Also, the nice head massage is relaxing too! I went to Hair Soda for the first time today. I had hair that was grown out from a negative style I had done about a year before, so I wanted a new, professional look to suit my job. I called in and booked an appointment with Jade. My hair is naturally quite wavy/curly, and quite honestly, looked like a witch do! Suitable for Halloween, not so suitable for the office! Jade gave me an upbeat cut that did not fight the curl, but actually worked with it. It is suitable for the office and casual at the same time. Hairsoda is the best! I have been coming to this salon for the past year and i can honestly say that i would never consider going anywhere else. Where else can you get a killer hair cut and beer to enjoy? Shawn and Ruth have both cut my hair in the past and they have both been phenomenal. I am very particular about my hair and finding a place like Hairsoda only a minute walk from my house i couldn't be happier. I love coming into Hairsoda! Shawn does an amazing job on my hair every time! Salon: spotless and tidy. Felt airy and open The place was truly spotless. I've been going to Shawn at Soda for almost a year now. By far the best experience and customer service I've ever had. One Thing I will always remember about my first time there is that they never tried to sell anything to me or push anything onto me as far as services and products. Shawn has shown me how to properly style my hair the most time and cost effective way and with what I was currently using for product. This was my second appointment with Jade for highlight/lowlights. I left it up to her to decide what needed to be done and I was very happy with the outcome. It's the first time in 15 years that I haven't touched up my roots and my hair looks better than it ever has. Jade put in some partial highlights/lowlights to blend it in. Wow! Absolutely love this place! First off the place is super clean and they are totally green so everything from products to hair is recycled properly. I went in looking to update my look a bit and clean up my ends, and Shawn killed it! I left looking like I had just stepped off a runway! Absolutely fantastic experience. I had a free glass of wine, and I had the best haircut I've had in my whole life to be honest. The environment is awesome, the hairdresser I had listened perfectly to what I wanted, I left the salon super happy! A little pricey however, but its definitely worth it for a good doo! We've gone through a bunch of different hair colours over the years, I used to dye my hair and started disliking the dark root look, so when Covid hit, I decided that I would start to grow our my natural colour. As a professional musician, our band is always having photos done, I didn't want to look grey, I wanted to somehow keep a hint of blonde but maintain a somewhat natural look with my salt and pepper coming in. I discussed this with Amanda who knew exactly what to do, she suggested foils and we've been doing foils ever since. I would never go to any other salon. Citrus Hair Salon is so classy, from the wonderful staff that greets you at the door to the person popping by with snacks. They have fantastic communication, you get a phone call and a text if your stylist is running late. The salon itself is very stylish, the wash area seats are soft and padded and you never get neck strain unlike other salons when your hair is being washed plus they have an array of wonderful products. If you like hair extensions - they have those too! Amanda is not only an expert with colours and styles, she's an incredibly beautiful and kind, smart, charismatic human. There needs to be more stars available to add to this review - great doesn't quite match the service and quality, it should say extraordinary. Thank you Amanda for taking such good care of me all these years and to the owner and all the staff as well. It's easy to write a bad review, I wish more people would write reviews when people and establishments are outstanding.

Names provided on their website. Sitting in my styling chair and having Kim take care of me, I was actually quite impressed. Not only was she a delight to deal with but she's an absolute expert at what she does...I received exactly what I was looking for. I was really enjoying myself...the energy, the vibe and knowing I was in good hands with Kim who was cutting my hair for the first time. I was in this Zen place thinking to myself in my chair ....finally I found my salon. ........................Until At the end, as I was checking out.....Luna charged me $120. I reminded her that actually Kim's fee for a woman's cut on the website is $100. She mentioned that this is the minimum and that it can increase based on the length of hair, quality of hair...and this and that....which is funny because they call you before the appointment and ask you all that stuff, but don't mention any price increase, until you have to pay....lol I asked her again and she said, the website is not accurate... wow...ok.... Anyhoo, I did find it a little disingenuous especially considering that Kim my stylist mentioned it was easy to cut my hair because of how healthy it is...so why the extra charge then?..... Anyway, moving on....Kim gave me a great cut and she's worth every dollar. What really pissed me off was something else..... I was paying cash, and as I handed Luna my bills she asked would you like change back? I said yes. Twice she asked me and then gave me this look like you're not leaving a tip?! She asked me again, you want ALL of it back?...Yes, I said....As I wanted to manage the tip situation with Kim herself upon a little chat before heading out. What made this even worse was, as Luna was giving me back my change...she dropped every single nickel, dime and Loonie on the desk. Before giving me ....this judgemental look. Every single minute of that enjoyable experience in that salon before checkout crashed and burned. Ok....I'll tell you....it wasn't even the money. I felt judged. I did speak with Kim afterwards outside only to be fair, as I wanted her to know, because she is a great stylist. However, it is exactly due to people like the front desk girl Luna cashing me out that I will not return here. I'm sad to say. Hair salons are like any other businesses. Reception is everything. The first thing the customers experiences and the last thing the customer leaves with...either brings them back or not. Interestingly, Upon arrival, the front girl was someone else and her energy and service matched an upscale environment, professional and courteous. Pity for them she wasn't the one at the front as I was leaving. If you are the reception for the evening, it is not your business how much tip clients leave or choose not to leave. It is however, your business to problem solve which she didn't do. At all. "The website is not accurate" is all she gave me with a blank stare. She didn't even attempt to ask or consult my stylist about the fee confusion, or to ask management to look into the matter and honor what could have simply been an honest misunderstanding. She just dropped my change as you would throw a street performer without a second thought, as to customer satisfaction or your own professional responsibility to the salon and its owner. If it weren't for Kim's great cut they'd only get 1 star.

They were so kind (and I'm guessing it was the manager) that they agreed to take me in on such a busy day. Parking was going to be waaaay better than dt. Charmaine was lovely. She spent about an hour and agreed to add some curl to my wavy hair that usually looks frizzy when I do it. Nakry was equally as great, and I felt really lucky to have had both of them style it. Today, my hair is still bouncing with curl and is neither sticky nor stiff. As with all "finds" I was reluctant to write this, except that they were so incredibly wonderful. My stylist was a former Suki's member, which happened to be my former salon. Next time I need my hair cut/coloured, I'm going to give this place a chance. It's classy and the stylists are all nice and cordial. They really made my day! Total cost $48 dollars with over a 20% tip and included a $20 conditioning treatment and scalp massage. So if any man happens to be reading this...now you know why we women expect you to pay for us on a date if we get "dolled" up. It has nothing to do with chivalry or women's lib; little do you know that we've already spent at least $300 before the night has begun.

So we were both willing to give this place another try. I'm glad I did because I realize that it is ery difficult to rate an entire salon based on the experience of one of their stylists. This time I was reccommended Karen. And let me tell you she did EXACTLY what I wanted.** What I loved about Karen is that I told her exactly my issues and she listened and did what she could to accept it. (unlike other places where they either refute that they are issues and/or decide to not listen) For any other east asian haired ladies, this is usually what I tell my hairdresser (YES, I'm SO low maintenance that I'm actually high maintenance when it comes to a salon- but if i'm paying good money and you are trained well I expect you to listen and do what I say***): -I cut my hair once a year and it NEEDS to grow out well. -I DON'T OWN a comb, conditioner, hair products. I'm strictly a shampoo everyday, airdry and leave the house kinda girl. Styling involves me running my fingers through my hair and sayin, "that's about right.." -If you use a stright iron on my STRAIGHT ASIAN HAIR I will hurt you. -I don't do razors. Just say no if you're even thinking it. C'mon, just use scissors. -I want to avoid altogether the "frizzy triangle" (you know what I'm talkin about) -And I need them to thin out my hair and get as much volume at the crown of my head as possible because I have thick hair, and a lot of it, that easily falls flat at the end of the day (which also coincides with the "frizz triangle") Karen listened and gave me a pretty sweet cut. she double checked with me to see if using conditioner and product was ok with me and she did a really quality job ensuring it looked like how I wanted it. I ended up with some sort of rocker chick, ultra layered, BIG do. Think borderline elvira/ shape of a Q-tip. Haha, I know that isn't the nicest description but it is basically the exact shape I wanted because I will tell you- there IS no such thing as flat or frizzy-triangle with THIS cut. which is EXACTLY what I wanted. My sister got a really clean cut bob- which is also what she wanted. I forget the name of her stylist but she was super cute. Oh, and the shampoo boy (josh?) does a pretty good head massage even though I avoid touching at all costs. (he styles too at cost b/c he's training I think) highly reccommend Karen as a stylist. And, ps: new customers get 25% off NOW pps: they gave my sister 25% off even though she wasn't a new client.
