She is very patient and thorough with her haircuts ensuring I am satisfied with the length and style before I leave, which I greatly appreciate. I even began taking my toddler to get his hair trimmed as he takes after me and has naturally curly hair. I was worried about the experience as a whole because he is only 1.5 years old and not the best at sitting still but Christen was incredible. She was so patient and kind. She had lollipops to distract him (which was a huge plus, lol). When he would get overwhelmed she just stopped and would talk to him letting him get calm again and then went back to the cut. She even talked him through what she was doing which I thought was so kind. I highly recommend Christen! She is a very kind and caring person. I feel as though I'm visiting with a good friend when I go to get my haircut. The vibes of the shop are fun and carefree and I appreciate the little toy table and activities provided for the little clientele.

He called to check on her availability and she was graciously able to schedule him a same day appointment. Parking is a little sparse on the street but that's just the nature of the area. We are able to park right out in front though. Her shop is really nice inside too. The window in front lets lots of natural lighting in. She also kindly offered us to the water when we arrived. We were able to watch tv while we waited. The product retail area below the tv was also very nice and well organized. I loved the curio cabinet with the vintage barbering and styling implements. You can tell that the aesthetic of the shop had a lot of thought put into it. It's not like that everywhere you go and I was impressed. We didn't have to wait long at all before she was ready to cut his hair. He brought a photo in with him of what he wanted and Christen was very thorough in her consultation and making sure they were on the same page in regards to the haircut. She also has excellent technical abilities and is clearly very skilled. His haircut looked great and was exactly what he wanted. We look forward to being regular clients!

I went in on a Saturday morning--my appt was supposed to be at 7a but she lost her keys so I didn't actually sit down until 8a--no big deal. Things like that happen. Anyway, I was getting a few tape-in extensions on the sides of my hair and I had already been in so she could match the color. She had messaged with me several times as we discussed what I wanted and she said that she would have the extensions ready when I arrived. They weren't ready yet--still, that is ok. My mom was a beautician so I understand that sometimes things don't go as planned. I had no problem with the extensions until a day later when two fell out. I messaged her asking when I could come in to get them replaced and she did not get back to me. I waited a few more days and she messaged me saying she would get back to me with an appointment. This went on for two weeks. I found another stylist in Visalia so I took the box of new Bellami extensions that I had purchased from Cheli with me and handed them to my new stylist who asked where I got them. I explained and she said that the extensions in my hair were NOT Bellami and that they appeared to be used as the tapes were really degraded. Also, type of extension listed on box were not the same as the ones inside the box--the ones that the box should have held were k-tips not tape in. So she lied about the type of extensions that she sold me. She also put them in wrong: they should have gone in in pairs: one on top of the other like a sandwich. She only stuck one on--so the tapes were sticky and my hair was stuck to them. I had wondered why they felt so strange when I touched them. The new stylist took them out and took a few pictures of them, showing me what they should look like. She also said that she could not believe they were only two weeks old because of the shape they were in: she said that they may have been used and that was what prompted me to write this review: the thought that I had someone else's hair extensions grossed me out. So beware! If you go to Lavish, avoid Cheli at all costs.

Not only this I noticed the salon does not have a proper room for women who are not able to show their hair. I asked for something and the outcome was so bad I made her redo it and I can tell she was irritated she left and did someone els hair and came back to me 40 minutes later. She charged me for a color correction she caused, and only put color correction on first layer of my hair. And continues to try to gas light me that the way she left me is okay.
