I had always gone to barbers, so I was a bit dubious about getting my hair cut at a salon. George is way better than any barber. I don't know how he does it, but my hair still looks good as it grows out, and I don't need to do much to make it presentable before going out. I have some severe cowlicks around the crown of my head, and if cut poorly it looks like I'm balding (or maybe I'm actually balding and George is great at protecting my ego). Either way, George takes care of this with the way he cuts my hair. He'll analyze the way your hair grows and cut it to work for you. If you're losing your hair, George is skilled enough to cut it so that it looks good anyway. If you want advice on how to stop hair loss and maybe grow it back, George is very knowledgeable and will be happy to dish out some advice while he cuts your hair. Obviously it's more expensive than a barber, but the quality is so much better that it's actually a superior bargain in my opinion. And it's way better than buzzing your own hair and putting a stupid hat on.

Calling in was an issue as nobody answered and mail box didn't work but a previous reviewer had the owner's cell phone. Her name is Olivia. Texted Jamie with number Olivia provided and quick response from Jamie. Within a few hours, my daughter was at the salon and getting prepped and colors mixed. Don't give up if they don't answer, they are always with clients. Worth the effort to even just stop by. Jamie is a gorgeous put together stylist , she clearly presents herself in every regard as professional and is very experienced. She worked for years on Martha's Vineyard with selective clients before coming home to the AV. We have a gem here and she will get very booked very soon so get on her client list if possible before she is too in demand. My daughter had an experience, not a hair cut. She was pampered and listened to and appreciated and it was worth it. She will be back when home from college as this is now where she will get her hair done. And my younger daughter will be going there soon. It took four hours but quality takes time. They don't hurry you out, they wait until it is done properly. If I wanted to lose 5 inches I would have asked. My mistake was taking my teenage daughter for a cut as well. We gave Ivy 4 pictures of a basic A line cut. At first it was too long, more of a blunt shoulder length bob. Now She looks like a damn mushroom head. The cut is chunky and uneven. The back looks like it was cut with a box cutter. She even said "I think it needs to be thinned at the bottom?" Like ya it does. Are you asking me or are you the professional?! The whole entire head of hair is lopsided as if it was cut by a drunk on a boat. In a hurricane. I had to physically run out of there to keep myself from yelling. It came out much darker than what I had asked for and looked nothing like my inspiration photo. To her credit, Alexis acknowledged it was too dark and offered to redo it free of charge. I went back for the correction. Before she started, I asked about the highlights because I couldn't see any. She told me they would still show, but even after the redo, there were still no visible highlights, and the final result was still far from what I had requested. I don't like arguing or making a scene, so I accepted it and left. However, I'm extremely disappointed that I spent over $400 and didn't receive the hair color I was promised. Now I have to pay another salon to fix it. Based on my experience, I can't recommend this salon. If a stylist isn't confident they can achieve a specific look, it's better to be honest from the beginning rather than promise something that can't be delivered.
