I looked at it and she had ear cutouts and my bangs were all uneven! Then she took me back to the eyebrow area asked if I wanted my eyebrows cleaned up so I said yeah. She waxed 2 little spots and I asked if it was time to tint them now and she said "Oh, we don't do that here". I told her this was where I had them done last time. She insisted they don't! When I went up front I complained that when I made the appointment I specifically said eyebrow tint. Turns out that they do but the girl didn't know! So $55 in and several complaints they asked if I wanted her to do it. She said she has never done it before! I asked if someone else could do it and they said she has to! Then the lady who checked my cut over was all snooty! I will never come back here!

My appointment (fill & gel polish) was done at 3pm and by 7pm the polish was peeling off both thumb nails- see photos. Not pictured are 2 other nails that started peeling the next day! I was only in Bemidji overnight & didn't have time to have them redone, although I did stop by the next morning on my way out of town to see about getting a partial refund. Of course the place wasn't open at 9am per their posted hours on Google. I phoned from the road and was told no refund, just come in and get them redone - despite me repeatedly telling the phone guy (who could barely speak English) that I DON'T LIVE THERE! When I asked to speak to the owner or manager, I was then told that person was (conveniently) out of the country for a month! The worst part - I paid CASH instead of using a credit card so I can't even cancel the charge with my credit card company. Avoid this place & I guess try one of the other places in town - although it might be best to just avoid all of them! If I don't get any response to this review from the mystery owner, I'm going to call the Attorney General's office and INS, so as to protect future unsuspecting patrons.

My real grievance is when i called to talk to her about it she put the blame on me, telling me i was "confused and didn't know what i wanted". As if that wasn't bad enough she then lied to me, telling me she remembered how confused i was so she took the phone from her daughter and talked to me personally and scheduled that appointment herself. Never during that call to book the appointment did she and i speak to each other. I only spoke to her daughter. Turned out she was working on a customer right next to the station i was at, heard my entire conversation with the stylist i had been booked with and never said a word. If she hadn't tried to gaslight me, i wouldn't be writing this review.

Kelsey was hired for a wedding months in advance, almost a year to be exact. She started messaging…read morethe Bride a week before about not having an assistant and telling the bride to expect less services to be provided. As a cosmetologist who was hired for hair I assured the bride that any professional make up artist should be able to provide 5 make up applications in 4 1/2 hours without an assistant. Monday of wedding week (wedding was a Friday) Kelsey messaged that she wouldn't be able to make it to do make up for the wedding. Upon finding out I asked the bride if she was able to get her deposit back and gift card that was purchased for wedding day. Deposit was returned but the gift card was non refundable. (I completely understand on a normal day, that gift cards are nonrefundable, however, when the bride is gifted a $400 gift card for wedding day services and the stylist backs out I think an exception to make things right should of taken place.) In 15 years of working weddings I've never come across such an unprofessional business, such an unorganized busines, and also a very non empathetic business who left the bride scrambling for make up 4 days before her wedding. Even in an emergency a full refund of deposit and gift card for such a big event should of been issued and the fact that she didn't find a replacement is completely mind boggling. I'd steer clear of any important event when hiring Artistry by Kelsey unless you're looking for disappointment.
