Great Stylists! I found Sparkle Hair after living in Oak Park for years. I really needed a stylist that would take good care of my hair and scalp. It was important to me that the stylist caring for my hair was a professional and that he or she would invest in caring for my hair. As you know hair styles can be damaging to your scalp and hair over the years. I was interested in a stylist that would help my hair to remain as healthy as possible while at the same time create styles that were flattering and up to date. That is exactly what I found at Hair Sparkle. My Stylist Rose is a wonderful skilled Cosmetologist who has helped me to stay up to date and to maintain a professional and fun look. She has been caring for my hair for close to five years now. Her prices are fair. She is innovative, and creative. She encourages me to try new styles but does not push me out of my comfort zone. She has over 30 years of experience and yet she maintains an enthusiasm about the beauty business and as a result she is fresh and new herself. Customer service is important to her and as the owner of the Salon she is an excellent role model for the other stylists in her Salon. There are several stylist in the salon and together they offer a variety of beautiful looks. The environment is warm and friendly and the clientele is diverse. I have seen all ages and all races in this salon. Many of the clients are long time customers but when I am there I see new clients coming in quite often. She has created an easy laid back environment that is comfortable and professional and not phony or pretentious. They are considerate and appreciative of the customers and offer them tea or other beverages. Each customer is receiving service and I have never seen anyone waiting unnecessarily or complaining about any services. If you are looking for a stylist that can address your everyday hair style needs or you would like a special style for a special occasion Hair Sparkle is an excellent choice not far from Chicago with the same skilled professionals and styles found downtown without paying a fortune for parking. I've been going to this hair salon since I was a little girl. My hair is natural, healthy, and continues to grow. I've traveled so much, from going off to college and even moving but I ONLY get my hair perfected at ONE hair salon and that is Hair Sparkle. I love a salon that grows with you and also treats you like family. I will continue to go to Hair Sparkle, the atmosphere cannot be matched anywhere. I enjoyed my visit at Hair Sparkle. It was my first time there, and Mrs. Sparkle was able to accommodate me even though I was a walk-in. Shondrika cut my hair, and she did an amazing job! Since it was my first cut with her, she would stop every few minutes and ask me what I thought about the length or the shape and if I wanted her to adjust anything. How thoughtful! The price was not bad either - $45 for a hair cut, but Shondrika was kind and offered me a discount since it was my first time there. read more

I Love this place. I started going here when my hair began to fall out. I called for an appointment with Shawn, when i got there she made me feel at ease and explain what was happening to my hair and how she was going to get it back in shape. Needless to say two years later my hair is long and healthy . the best shape it has ever been. Hair Sparkle hair salon: Sparkle A.K.A Rose was my stylist. She cannot cut hair very well. I told her I wanted a short hair cut; she did it right the first time and thereafter it was cut very ugly and onetime she cut in a militatry busch cut. I was so mad. I had to let my hair grow out. After that I never went back to her. I also used to get hair extensions and she is not very good in doing hair extension either. Plus she is highly over priced. My thing is, if you going to charge a lot of money.... DO MY F!@#ING HAIR RIGHT!! I will never ever go back to her again. However, her daughter Shawn does hair very well from what I've seen. I wish I had chose Shawn to do my hair initiatially but I got stuck with Sparkle. read more
